The sad thing is that many establishment liberals seem to be celebrating this as a good thing, to keep a "madman" Trump from messing up our virtuous foreign policy and/or doing Putin's bidding. Just as sad, however, is the grouping of conservative Q types and leftie journalists like Aaron Maté and Glenn Greenwald who seem to be getting conned in the other direction by presenting it as if Trump's troop withdrawal efforts were sincere and would have occurred if not for this. The notion of the deep state being at war with Trump is, as noted before in this thread, fundamentally wrong. Indeed, if Trump were sincere about ending foreign wars, it strains belief that he would simply take the word of the swamp he has railed against and purportedly opposes. He is thoroughly complicit if he sat back complacently and believed the deep state.

What really seems to be going on is another propaganda setup so that at least some element of the establishment comes out looking virtuous to everybody. Those opposed to troop withdrawal will cheer on the military's deception and those rightfully in support of it will treat Trump as a victim who was, whatever his reasons or general faults, trying to do the right thing in this instance. Like the QAnon farce, this feels like another instance of even the brightest anti-establishment thinkers being herded back into giving (albeit qualified) support to the establishment.

I'm in Australia and barely taking notice of this farce but when I first heard this I was a bit surprised.

Technically Trump is CiC of US military forces and the DoD is there to implement what his chain of command needs yeah?

So doing what they just did, then publicly ... Trumping it ... Means they have committed treason haven't they?

He was elected with the promise of removing troops, is in charge of the troops and the entire infrastructure that supports them and his subordinates were actively not carrying out his orders wrt to actual military stuff. While wars were on. And now they are bragging about it publicly. There has been no impeachment of his military actions, they haven't been unconstitutional either as far as I can see.

It's a bit mind boggling. That system is broken. (Tho I suspect it always was.)

And honestly Trump is so incompetent that I can understand why his subordinates did what they thought they should and ignored the cunt. But still, it's interesting no one mentioned it.

One of Trumps key platforms was stopping the forever wars or so he said. He is the first president since when? Carter? not to start a new war somewhere isn't he? For all his flaws that is something.

It certainly is an incredibly broken system. As with the past few years of Russiagate, I see this as yet another example of the "deep state" showing itself out into the open and being cheered on by liberals. It's long been the case that entrenched military power structures, not presidents, were the true architects of military policy, but now this fact is being proudly put on display as a virtuous aspect of our system.

Still, I hesitate to give Trump himself credit because I have yet to see any evidence that his anti-war platform was sincere. His administration's foreign policy actions include bombing Syria in response to a likely-staged gas attack, arming anti-Russian forces in Ukraine, fomenting coups in Bolivia and Venezuela, and assassinating a foreign high-level military leader in Iran. Maybe there weren't new wars in a strict sense, but there has certainly been an escalation of our existing ones and an expansion of covert wars; not much of a difference given how nebulously-defined US wars (I'm sure some empire apologists would say we're just doing overseas peacekeeping missions, not actually at war anywhere) are anyway.

I see no evidence that there was any real intention on Trump's part to end US wars. And why would a revelation like this that so blatantly proves the existence of an unaccountable covert power structure within the government be outed by the corporate press with no hesitation? Likely because it satisfies the propaganda narratives that have been going on throughout Trump's administration. Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans end up loving the military bureaucracy because they supposedly stopped Trump from doing something awful; i.e. withdrawing the military from countries it is occupying, which liberals have been programmed to see as a bad idea because Trump-the-puppet pretends to support that and therefore it must be bad. Trump's supporters don't have to come to terms with the fact that his swamp-draining promises never came to fruition (as always) because it can be blamed on the deep state once again, and the illusion that Trump was at odds with these forces can be maintained.

US Election: A Color Revolution ‘Comes Home to Roost’

It has been more than three weeks since election day and the incumbent US president still has yet to concede defeat. Despite the media’s distraction over the perspiration of his personal attorney during a bizarre press conference, the legal team led by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani has actually done a decent job uncovering potential fraud in battleground states, where vote counting was delayed for several days before the former vice president was declared a “winner” by the news media and Silicon Valley.

Unfortunately, the 2020 election is not a sporting event or academic paper, therefore evidence that instances of fraud occurred will likely not be enough for the litigation to change the outcome, though it does appear his camp is finally facing up to leaving the White House come January. Then again, whether or not burden of proof was ever provided is immaterial, seeing as before he even took the oath of office a silent coup was underway to remove the democratically-elected government of Donald J. Trump that is now entering its final phase.

Trump found an unlikely voice of support contesting Biden’s premature declaration of victory in former six-term Democratic Congresswoman from Georgia and 2008 Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney, who this time was the running mate of former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura as a write-in entrant in some eligible states for the divided Greens who officially nominated labor activist Howie Hawkins.

During the 2016 election, the Democrats scapegoated Jill Stein for Hillary Clinton’s unexpected loss, even baselessly implicating the Green Party nominee in the Russiagate hoax simply for having appeared at a 2015 Moscow gala for the RT television network where General Michael Flynn and Russian President Vladimir Putin were in attendance.

Not only did the legislatures of swing states like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin exclude Hawkins from the ballot at the behest of Democrats in a shameless act of voter suppression, but McKinney described the irregularities which plagued electronic voting machines in her home state of Georgia in 2020 as “déjà vu”, having been cheated out of Congress herself by such tactics in 2006.

McKinney also previously penned an essay entitled The Purple Revolution: US Hybrid Warfare Comes Home to Roost? on the establishment’s efforts to remove Trump which makes an apropos historical reference.

This November 22nd marked fifty-seven years since the assassination of John F. Kennedy. When asked for his reaction to the killing of the 35th president in Dallas back in 1963 and less than two years before his own public murder, civil rights leader Malcolm X famously stated that “chickens were coming home to roost”, alluding to the US government’s interventions overseas such as the CIA-orchestrated assassination of the first Prime Minister of the Congo, Patrice Lumumba, in 1960 following its independence from Belgian colonial rule.

His remarks in the wake of a national tragedy proved too controversial even for the Nation of Islam which publicly censured its most recognizable minister who would announce his departure from the black nationalist organization a few months later. The following year, he would be gunned down in Harlem in an assassination long-suspected to have been the work of the FBI’s counter-intelligence program (COINTELPRO) which had infiltrated his inner circle to frame the NOI for a mysterious death equally thought by the public to have been a state-sanctioned execution like that of JFK.

It is unclear whether the African-American Muslim leader believed the US government was behind Kennedy’s death, but chances are he was not naïve enough to think that the same machinations used abroad could not be implemented by those very forces domestically to remove someone elected by the American people they opposed. If the Kennedy assassination was indeed a result of the “unwarranted influence of the military-industrial complex” which his predecessor Dwight D. Eisenhower even famously warned of during his farewell address, what took place was almost certainly a secret putsch.

President Kennedy had already been undercut by his own Joint Chiefs of Staff and Central Intelligence Agency in trying to defuse the Cuban Missile Crisis and his back-channel negotiations with Nikita Khrushchev were sabotaged by hawkish officials within his own administration. The internal struggle that scuttled Kennedy’s attempts at détente parallels the vying factions which undermined Trump’s diplomacy with North Korea to a near tee.

Political scientist Michael Parenti explained in his essay The JFK Assassination: Defending the Gangster State how the 35th president was targeted by the security state which perceived Kennedy as “soft on communism” and placating the Soviet Union in his diplomatic efforts following the failed Bay of Pigs invasion:

The dirty truth is that Kennedy was heartily hated by right-wing forces in this country, including many powerful people in the intelligence organizations. He had betrayed the national interest as they defined it, by refusing to go all out against Cuba, making overtures of rapproachment with Castro, and refusing to escalate the ground war in Vietnam. They also saw him as an anti-business liberal who was taking the country down the wrong path. Whether Kennedy really was all that liberal is another matter. What the national security rightists saw him to be was what counted.

While the widely perceived truth about the JFK assassination remains sealed from public view, the Church Committee and Rockefeller Commissions of the 1970s exposed the numerous CIA-backed juntas which unseated popular leaders in Guatemala, Syria, Iran, the Dominican Republic, the Congo, Brazil, Indonesia, Chile, and countless other nations in the global south.

Ever since, the CIA’s preferred regime change stratagem has been to use what are paradoxically labelled “non-governmental organizations” (NGOs) — which actually receive US government funding — as cutouts to destabilize noncompliant nations under the guise of supporting “pro-democracy” opposition movements. During the Cold War, the vast majority of states overthrown were left-leaning or socialist governments aligned with the Eastern Bloc, but in the post-Soviet world many of the toppled administrations have been far from left-wing and even conservative, with their only offense favoring economic ties with Russia or China and resisting Western hegemony.

Similarly, when domestic protest movements have taken shape at home in the US, the political establishment has used plutocratic foundations in Big Philanthropy and the Non-Profit Industrial Complex to defang them for its own agenda. Look no further than the way the nationwide mass demonstrations against racism and police brutality this year were rapidly transformed into a movement to elect Joe Biden, who drafted the senate version of the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, with no substantial legislation passed to reform police.

The corporatized Black Lives Matter movement, a recipient of $100 million dollar grants from the CIA’s philanthropic frontage in the Ford Foundation, grew out of the legacy of the short-lived Occupy Wall Street protests in 2011 which itself were coopted by reformist and pro-Democratic Party outfits.

Not coincidentally, OWS was also infiltrated by Serbian political activist Srđa Popović of Otpor! (“Resistance!”) and the Centre for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies (CANVAS) fame who previously led the Bulldozer Revolution which overthrew Yugoslav President Slobodan Milošević in 2000.

A central component of the Gene Sharp-inspired ‘Color Revolution’ template is the engineering of contested election scenarios where leaders singled-out for regime change can be ousted after appearing to consolidate power, as seen in election-themed revolutions in Serbia (Bulldozer), Georgia (Rose), Ukraine (Orange), Kyrgyzstan (Tulip), Moldova (Grape), and other countries.

The same manner in which Biden declared himself the victor in spite of the lawsuits filed in federal court was recently observed abroad in the disputed election aftermath in Belarus where US-backed opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya announced herself the winner of its presidential contest in order to spark preplanned protests in Minsk against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. This was a replication of an unsuccessful blueprint from the 2009 Green Movement unrest in Iran during the incumbency of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as well as the presidential crisis in Venezuela last year, among others.

Trump‘s lawyer Rudy Giuliani appeared to be confused when he alleged that the e-voting irregularities involving the election software company Dominion Voting Systems had ties to deceased former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and international financier George Soros, who actually supports the US-backed opposition to the Chavista government in Caracas.

Giuliani may be mistaken but is pointing to something accurate, except in the contested US election his client is in the position of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro while Biden would be the equivalent of self-appointed “interim president” Juan Guaidó. Sans a few exceptions such as Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (who certainly knows a rigged contest when he sees one), most of the “international community” congratulated Biden on his assumed win just like Venezuela’s illegitimate coup leader.

Meanwhile, both the pseudo-left and conservative right seem to be equally misunderstood about Soros, who is neither the charitable billionaire or “globalist” bogeyman they imagine, but rather an anti-communist business tycoon who favors vulture capitalism and Western imperialism under the banner of liberal democracy.

As touched on by Cynthia McKinney, in the aftermath of Trump’s shocking triumph over Hillary Clinton in 2016, rumors began to swirl that a Soros-funded US ‘Color Revolution’ was in the works — a ‘Purple Revolution’, monikered after the noticeable shade Mrs. Clinton chose to don in her concession speech as a combination of blue and red intended to symbolize bipartisan opposition to Trump.

Whether or not that was true, it was in the wee hours following her loss that the Clinton campaign reportedly settled on placing the blame at the feet of unproven Russian interference for Trump’s unlikely victory.

Or was it even earlier?

Recently declassified CIA memorandums proved that months before the election in July 2016, Clinton had orchestrated a plan to whip up a smear campaign tying Trump to the alleged Russian hacking of the Democratic National Committee email server. The documents also showed beyond a doubt how the Russia probe was launched even though both the FBI and CIA were privy to Clinton’s intent on linking Trump with the Kremlin.

The three-year Russia investigation and subsequent impeachment over the Ukraine scandal were only the beginning chapters in the slow-motion soft coup against Trump. When all else failed, the US elite began to prepare for his ouster in the 2020 election. In fact, the possibility of a second Trump term was evidently too much of a nightmare for the establishment to even fathom, so they only prepared for his defeat and presupposed refusal to relinquish power instead.

Quite literally, an exclusive cabal of Washington insiders, establishment Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans were gathered by a former high-ranking Pentagon official, Nils Gilman, to participate in role-playing “election simulation” scenarios and tabletop “war game” exercises predicting various election outcomes which anticipated that Trump would resist acknowledging defeat and transferring power, precipitating a constitutional crisis. It was called the Transition Integrity Project (TIP) and featured Clintonites John Podesta and Donna Brazile, who were joined by prominent neoconservative figures William Kristol, Max Boot, and the former George W. Bush speechwriter who coined the “Axis of Evil” phrase, war criminal David Frum.

Image
Bill Kristol, Max Boot, David Frum

Most telling is that among the scenarios considered, even in the postulated drill where the premise was a decisive victory for Trump, TIP determined that Biden should ignore the vote result and consider any measures necessary to attain the presidency, including provoking a constitutional crisis and possible civil war where Democratic-held states would be encouraged to secede from the Union, the electoral college abolished, and statehood awarded to Washington DC and Puerto Rico.

Upon reading the TIP report, it is clear that the real purpose of the bipartisan exercise was to mastermind the very disputed election outcome and concentration of power it predicts would be triggered by Trump. It is also possible that the project enlisted mass media in its scheme.

Just weeks before Election Day, a highly-publicized scandal broke at The New Yorker magazine after staff writer and CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin accidentally exposed himself during a Zoom video meeting with fellow employees. Many were too amused to notice the online conference call was revealed to be an “election simulation” featuring top columnists of the publication role-playing as participants.

It would not be out of the realm of possibility given the unprecedented extent to which corporate outlets and Big Tech companies have gone to influence the outcome of the election. Even those within legacy media such as The New York Post, one of the oldest newspapers in the United States, found itself censored by Twitter for publishing an explosive story which contained emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop of which not even the former vice president’s campaign denied the authenticity.

When Trump delivered a press conference outlining his campaign’s allegations of election fraud, major news outlets not only made the Orwellian decision to “fact check” Trump live on-air but cut away from the speech in the middle of his remarks in coordinated unison. Then when the president’s own social media posts were censored and flagged as disinformation, the jig was truly up.

It’s little wonder Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg openly bragged about how the platform was “partnering with the intelligence community” for censorship to be a soft power arm after the 2016 election.

Lo and behold, rather than being broken up for violating anti-trust laws, Silicon Valley has already been rewarded for staying true to its roots in the national security state by Biden’s transition team which consists of executives from Airbnb, Alphabet, Amazon, Facebook, Dell, DropBox, Microsoft’s LinkedIn, Lyft, Stripe and Uber.

Can it really be that Trump is so hated because of his rejection of certain foreign policy orthodoxies like JFK alone? The truth is really so much more. It is because of his inclination to disgrace Washington’s sacred institutions for his own political gain which the entire establishment desperately needs to maintain the faith of the masses in its corrupt political system, rogue national security state, yellow press, and obsolete democratic process.

It is imperative to preserve these bureaucratic cornerstones as above criticism because they are a linchpin to holding power. As a political outsider, Trump blazed his own trail to the presidency and in doing so undermined the hallowed bastions of power in Washington, promising to “drain the swamp” while eroding faith in the leading US spy agencies as an unelected secret government or “deep state”, and most of all denouncing corporate media as “fake news” and the “enemy of the people.” Even though these were accuracies cynically told by Trump for his own advantage, they were misunderstood by his detractors to be falsehoods simply because he was the source.

Trump’s populist agitation even worried his own group of backers within the ruling elite who convinced him to soften his rhetoric and reverse many of his positions once he took office. Since the 2020 election has not resulted in a desirable outcome, he has only continued to increase popular distrust of the political order and its mechanisms which guarantee the status quo overrides the will of the people, signaling he is more than willing to take the whole system down with him.

Indeed, polls indicate many Americans seem to agree with the president that the election was rigged in Biden’s favor. This is precisely why his rabble-rousing is viewed as dangerous by the elite which unleashed its media organs and intelligence agencies from day one to sabotage him — they knew that he is willing to lay bare the full corruption of the powers that be in order to help his own cause. For this reason, the media has resorted to the most deceitful and partisan methods to portray Trump as a unique danger that most be ousted at any cost.

It is no wonder how a coalition as incongruous as that behind Biden came into formation, from Lincoln Project “Never Trumper” Republicans to the Democratic Socialists of America, Big Tech monopolies to Black Lives Matter, Wall Street megadonors to the remnants of Occupy Wall Street, Bush-era national security officials to the inappropriately-named Revolutionary Communist Party (Refuse Fascism), and so on.

Or to really give an idea of just how absurd the ideological alliance was to ensure a Biden presidency, the Transition Integrity Project was even shamefully promoted by the likes of so-called “progressive” news outlets like Democracy Now! which made its journalistic name critically covering the very neoconservative figures from the Bush years behind TIP.

Somehow, those in power managed to persuade the “anti-establishment” to side with them against the bad orange man as the supposed greater evil, tricking them into defending institutions they should oppose as inviolable and the archaic US electoral system which deprives them of real democracy as unimpeachable. This is the real legacy of the Trump era — only time will tell if it is its lesson.

Please don't misunderstand my postings, Griz, as others often do. Let it be known I am not a Trump supporter, but I do avoid the mindless maniacal manufactured pile-on of the "anyone but Trump" crowd. The Democrats have hit rock bottom in their quest to unseat Trump for the past four years and I wouldn't put it past them to go so far as to poorly rig an election. (unless of course it was Trump himself who sloppily stuffed the ballet boxes with votes for Biden just to cause a riff...
The Dems lost me, the republicans have always sucked (in my opinion) and other than that, idk what to say except I don't like pile-ons, and I've never liked Trump although he does make me laugh from time to time.

Still waiting for any actual evidence that there is an effort to unseat Trump, as opposed to a series of staged coup attempts that burnish Trump's "outsider" credentials even while he proceeds to deliver virtually the same agenda that any deep state-anointed president (which he is) would. Plus it is pretty reductive to look at nationwide election theft operations as a purely partisan effort, when there is every reason to believe that it is a sophisticated operation orchestrated at a level above the two parties, through a coalition of high financiers, political strategists of both parties (Karl Rove, and probably some Dem counterparts like James Carville or John Podesta), military-industrial complex actors, the organized crime interests and powerbrokers of both parties that control the voting machine industry, and local pockets of corruption around the country. Even now, the supposed expose of election fraud by the likes of Sidney Powell is focusing solely on Dominion Voting Systems, the main company in the industry with nominally "liberal" ties (though the real story of its ownership, as always, transcends partisanship), while ignoring Election Systems & Software that has quite visible ties to the Republican powerbrokers in Omaha who are linked to the Franklin scandal.

Tim Leary's ghost says we should have Planet Earth's own color revolution next. And call it the psychedelic color counter-revolution.

That Tim. Liberal to the core. He was the founder of the new world order technocrats for a better dystopia society, you know.
Both his words and manner of speech seemed at first totally unfamiliar to me, and yet somehow they stirred memories - as an actor might be stirred by the forgotten lines of some role he had played far away and long ago.

There WAS a color revolution in the US after all – and its architects now BOAST of how they ‘fortified’ the 2020 election

The 2020 US presidential elections wasn’t “rigged,” oh no, but “fortified” by a conspiracy of activists united in saving “Our Democracy” from the Bad Orange Man, now proud to share their story in a friendly tell-all piece in TIME.

“There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes,” writes Molly Ball – a biographer of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, by the way – in TIME magazine this week, describing it as a “vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election – an extraordinary shadow effort.”

Ball’s article reveals a lot, from why there were no street riots by Democrats either on November 4 or on January 6 – the organizers of this “conspiracy” stopped them – to who was behind the push to alter election rules in key states and set up mail-in voting, who organized “information” campaigns about the results of the election, and who even threatened election officials into making the “right” decision to certify the vote.

While everyone – myself included – was focused on the summer riots as a possible “color revolution,” they turned out to be misdirection. According to TIME, the real action was taking place behind the scenes, as Democrat activists and unions joined forces with NeverTrump Republicans, Chamber of Commerce, corporations, and Big Tech to make sure the 2020 election turns out the way they wanted. They call this a victory of democracy and the will of the people, of course, for no one is ever a villain in their own story.

“Their work touched every aspect of the election,” Ball writes, from getting states to “change voting system laws” and fending off “voter-suppression lawsuits,” to recruiting “armies” of poll workers and pressuring social media companies to “take a harder line against disinformation.”

Then, after Election Day, “they monitored every pressure point to ensure that Trump could not overturn the result.” Alarmed yet? Maybe you should be.

So who are these shadowy saviors of Our Democracy? One of them is union organizer Mike Podhorzer of AFL-CIO, a traditional Democrat powerhouse. Another is Ian Bassin, associate White House counsel in Barack Obama’s first administration. The roster of his “nonpartisan, rule-of-law” outfit called Protect Democracy includes a lot of Obama lawyers, a John McCain campaign aide, an editor from the defunct neocon Weekly Standard, and someone from SPLC, while among their advisers is the NeverTrump failed presidential candidate and ex-CIA spy Evan McMullin.

Bear that in mind when you read Bassin’s quote that “Every attempt to interfere with the proper outcome of the election was defeated,” (emphasis added) but “it’s massively important for the country to understand that it didn’t happen accidentally. The system didn’t work magically. Democracy is not self-executing.” Chilling words.

A leading member of this effort is Norm Eisen, another White House counsel under Obama. The pro-Trump Revolver News even raised the alarm about Eisen plotting a “color revolution” in September – but by then it was too late, even if anyone had been paying attention.

By then, the National Vote at Home Institute – an organization barely two years old, and part of the effort – had already instructed secretaries of state across the US with “technical advice on everything from which vendors to use to how to locate drop boxes,” and even provided them “communications tool kits,” i.e. talking points.

In November 2019 – a full year before the election! – Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg hosted “nine civil rights leaders” for dinner, one of whom was Vanita Gupta, Obama’s assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. It was part of this shadowy coalition’s campaign for “more rigorous rules and enforcement” on social media platforms – just in case you were wondering how Trump ended up deplatformed, or the New York Post’s story about Hunter Biden’s laptop got suppressed before the election.
Also on rt.com Ex-spies (and proven liars) 'deeply suspicious' of Russian involvement, based on ZERO EVIDENCE, so hush up about Hunter Biden

Ironically, as part of their pressure on Big Tech Democrats had whipped up a moral panic about super-targeted “Russian” internet memes that somehow “influenced” the 2016 election – yet Ball’s article says that two groups involved with the conspiracy “created state-specific memes and graphics, spread by email, text, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, urging that every vote be counted.”

Podhorzer’s messaging efforts were informed by Anat Shenker-Osorio, who “applies tools from cognitive science and linguistics in her work with progressive organizations globally,” according to her 2018 fellowship bio from George Soros’s Open Society Foundation.

Though Ball doesn’t mention it specifically, those Twitter and Facebook “pre-bunking” labels about safety of mail-in ballots and the winner not being known on Election Day are also the activists’ talking points.

Remember how Republican observers were thrown out of the ballot-counting facility in Detroit? Reports at the time said it was because of overcrowding, but the Time article reveals that a Democrat activist mobilized “dozens of reinforcements” to “provide a counterweight” to them, so eventually “racial-justice activists from Detroit Will Breathe worked alongside suburban women from Fems for Dems and local elected officials.”

It was activists who came up with a strategy of denouncing any challenge to Detroit vote counts as racist, too.

When President Donald Trump asked Michigan’s Republican-majority legislators to challenge the results, Eisen called it “the scariest moment” of the election, and the “democracy defenders” sprung into action.

Eisen’s lawyers dug up dirt on the two lawmakers invited to Washington, activists hounded them at airports, NeverTrump Republicans made calls to party friends, and Bassin’s outfit commissioned an op-ed threatening criminal charges by Michigan’s Democrat AG – whose office then retweeted it. The two were even picketed at the Trump Hotel in DC. The brigading eventually worked, as Michigan Republicans agreed to certify the elections – and other contested states followed.

Perhaps the most intriguing part is buried towards the end. Ball reveals that she got a text from Podhorzer – the AFL-CIO organizer – on the morning of January 6, hours before what the Democrats would describe as “insurrection” by Trump supporters at the US Capitol, saying that the "activist left" was “strenuously discouraging counter activity” in order to “preserve safety and ensure they couldn’t be blamed for any mayhem.”

How did Podhorzer know there would be “mayhem,” hours before the “storming” of the Capitol that Democrats claim Trump “incited” at the rally outside the White House at noon? It’s a mystery.

What’s not a mystery is the result of the “conspiracy” Ball has revealed: a de facto one-party state in which Democrats hold absolute power at every level of government and seek to prosecute dissent and disenfranchise the opposition.
Also on rt.com Our democracy is under threat… by too much democracy, say lawmakers calling for removal of ‘conspiracy theorist’ rep

Last month, with no inkling of the behind-the-scenes operation just revealed in Time, I wrote of a non-kinetic “fifth-generation” civil war that had unfolded as “a battle for hearts and minds, a series of psychological operations that played out on the media, political and economic fronts.” I argued it had successfully swapped the American Republic for something called “Our Democracy,” which maintains the form but has a radically different content.

One of the “heroes” of Ball’s piece, NeverTrump Republican Jeff Timmer, has a quote in the article about how “Our democracy only survives if we all believe and don’t look down,” referring to the cartoon character Wile E. Coyote.

It’s an interesting admission, as the coyote is the villain of those cartoons – and the one actually immune to the effects of gravity is the roadrunner bird. But you’re not supposed to notice this – and besides, noticing will soon be a crime in Our Democracy.

The significance of those purple outfits on Inauguration Day

By: Sam Cohen

Vice President Kamala Harris confidently walked to the Inauguration platform outside the U.S. Capitol Wednesday, wearing a purple dress and purple coat. Besides being a stunning jewel tone, purple also has significance.

Historically, purple was associated with nobility, it was also the original color favored by suffragettes before they were associated with white.

"Purple is the color of loyalty, constancy to purpose, unswerving steadfastness to a cause. White, the emblem of purity, symbolizes the quality of our purpose; and gold, the color of light and life, is as the torch that guides our purpose, pure and unswerving," reads a newsletter from the National Woman’s Party in 1913, according to Marie Claire.

Recently, purple has become a metaphor for bipartisanship because it’s literally red and blue together.

Harris wasn’t alone in the color choice: Former First Lady and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton also wore purple, in her signature pantsuit style, as well as former First Lady Michelle Obama who opted for a reddish-purple sweater and pants, and Senator Elizabeth Warren donned a purple scarf and mask.

Inauguration fashion: Purple, pearls, American designers

LEANNE ITALIE, AP Entertainment Writer
Jan. 21, 2021

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris showcased American designers at their inauguration Wednesday, and Harris gave a nod to women's suffrage, Shirley Chisholm and her beloved sorority in pearls and purple.

Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush also donned hues of purple. Harris has cited Chisholm, a Democrat from New York, as an inspiration for her career. Chisholm was the first Black woman elected to Congress and the first Black major-party candidate to run for U.S. president.

Pearls had a strong fashion showing, in line with a social media campaign that had inauguration watchers donning strands in support and celebration of Harris. Nobody in attendance did them quite like Jennifer Lopez — from earrings to bracelets — as she sang “This Land is Your Land" in head-to-toe white Chanel.

Rep. Barbara Lee, a California Democrat, wore a pearl necklace owned by Chisholm herself. It was a gift from Chisholm's goddaughter...continues...

Re: America’s Own Color Revolution

Postby Marionumber1 » Sat Feb 06, 2021 1:00 pm

That RT article is embarrassingly bad, as is par for the course from that platform. It tries as hard as it can to selectively quote certain vague phrases from the article that can be made to sound nefarious if stripped of all their surrounding context. In reality, as one can discern from reading the TIME article, most of the reforms pushed by this "cabal" were the opposite of rigging and did serve to improve or protect the voting process.

Additional resources and staff to run elections sounds pretty reasonable: a lot of voter suppression in past elections has resulted from under-resourced polling places leading to overly long wait times. Mail-in ballot security does have notable issues, but it also increases voter participation and is not markedly more problematic than our entire easily-riggable electronic voting system. Exposing disinformation, despite the uncomfortable history of many groups purporting to do that, is not automatically a bad thing when there truly is disinformation being spread, as was coming from Trump's camp regarding the election. Planned counter-protests against baseless right-wing demonstrations assuming the election is rigged because their guy didn't win is a pretty clear example of justifiable street-level engagement. And for all the handwringing about election officials being "threatened" to certify votes, the fact is that the ones holding out were doing so for obviously partisan reasons and had no objective standards justifying to do so; when public officials start acting against the public interest like that, I would sure as hell hope that the public is engaged enough to put a stop to that. I'd like to see anyone concerned about this story read the TIME article for themselves rather than sharing an obviously-based interpretation that barely reveals any of its contents, and identify what specific issues they have with any of these reforms.

There is cause for concern about empowering social media platforms to take a harder line on (even real) disinformation for the fear that they will also crack down on legitimate information that undeservedly attains the same classification. It is a fair question to ask why corporate and establishment Democrat interests would be working hand in hand with progressive activist groups on this endeavor, for it implies the former intended to get something out of this that the latter would not. One possibility is that a large contingent of the deep state wanted a Biden victory, and put forth this effort to counter the primarily pro-Trump rigging that more Republican-aligned factions with influence over the electoral process (that includes all the major electronic voting system companies, even current right-wing bugaboo Dominion) would attempt. But if so, that really goes to show that all the deep state needed to do in order to "rig" the election for Biden was to hold a freer and fairer presidential election than has been held at any time in recent history.

Other ridiculous things from the article:

Bear that in mind when you read Bassin’s quote that “Every attempt to interfere with the proper outcome of the election was defeated,” (emphasis added) but “it’s massively important for the country to understand that it didn’t happen accidentally. The system didn’t work magically. Democracy is not self-executing.” Chilling words.

Even Ben Franklin said "A republic, if you can keep it". What I find chilling is this idea that people working to fortify the election process, rather than sitting back and assuming it will work fine, is being presented as a sinister plot. Assuming the democratic process works fine without any oversight is what got us into the mess we're in.

A leading member of this effort is Norm Eisen, another White House counsel under Obama. The pro-Trump Revolver News even raised the alarm about Eisen plotting a “color revolution” in September – but by then it was too late, even if anyone had been paying attention.

Maybe no one was paying attention because the claim was flagrant nonsense?

Perhaps the most intriguing part is buried towards the end. Ball reveals that she got a text from Podhorzer – the AFL-CIO organizer – on the morning of January 6, hours before what the Democrats would describe as “insurrection” by Trump supporters at the US Capitol, saying that the "activist left" was “strenuously discouraging counter activity” in order to “preserve safety and ensure they couldn’t be blamed for any mayhem.”

"It's a mystery" if you don't think very hard. Anyone with common sense would have been able to tell that the events at the Capitol had a very good chance of becoming turbulent if not outright violent.

What’s not a mystery is the result of the “conspiracy” Ball has revealed: a de facto one-party state in which Democrats hold absolute power at every level of government and seek to prosecute dissent and disenfranchise the opposition.

This is a sophomoric analysis that assumes the Democrats and the Republicans are "opposition" to each other. Nothing could be further from the truth, and we are already seeing that in action with the pathetic stimulus check negotiations.

I find it disheartening how much the media criticism here and on other parapolitical research communities is so surface level. You see a TIME article that is quite deliberately stoking all your beliefs about secret "liberal" cabals working to protect the election from Trump, and immediately assume it as a confession to a fraud conspiracy, rather than perhaps considering that the deep state benefits from continuing this phony dialogue about the election being rigged for Biden?

Thanks. For all the good it will do.

And hello, anyone affecting to having not paid attention so thoroughly that they didn't see what was coming two weeks earlier, or at least during the week before the announced final-gasp move of the Trump coup attempt on Jan. 6th, shouldn't be pretending to analyze it afterward.

Should have posted it here for proof, but you'll just have to believe me: Besides figuring to myself that it would happen for days, around noon on the day itself, while my girlfriend was watching C-SPAN (not the worst addiction, better than Facebook), I guaranteed to her that they would be forced to interrupt the proceedings and clear out the congressional chambers once the Trump-dispatched mob surrounded the Capitol. At that moment I wouldn't have bet that the fascists and yahoos would actually make it to the floor, simply because I wasn't privy to the extent to which their enablers were ensonced in the machinery of the police and the military command directly responsible for protecting the Capitol. This wasn't my prescience, this was on Trump's Twitter feed!
