Russia's ruble is the strongest currency in the world this year

BY IRINA IVANOVA

UPDATED ON: MAY 27, 2022 / 7:39 AM / MONEYWATCH

The Russian ruble is the best-performing currency in the world this year.

Two months after the ruble's value fell to less than a U.S. penny amid the swiftest, toughest economic sanctions in modern history, Russia's currency has mounted a stunning turnaround. The ruble has jumped 40% against the dollar since January.

"It's an unusual situation," said Jeffrey Frankel, professor of capital formation and growth at the Harvard Kennedy School.

So ... good news for the Biden Admin, then?

Seriously, it gets harder every week to understand what they're trying to accomplish, in terms of either domestic or foreign policy. It just looks more and more like a controlled demolition.

Fascinating to behold, to an extent. Agreed.

Perhaps a better (or worse) phrasing is, "Bad news for those that self-identify as Democrat Party patrons, or "liberals", and subscribe to the standard tropes of American political parties and their ostensible roles relative to the average American..."

But i suspect even some of the more staunch followers of Establishment Politics may be resigning themselves to a mindset similar to Mr. Gustave here.. But this assumes a modicum of self-reflection and/or the willingness to re-assess firmly-held views.

Deputy Oleg Tsarov has the word

Honourable Colleagues
Honourable Vladimir Vasiljevitch

In my role as a representative of the Ukrainian people…
…activists of the public organisation "Volya" turned to me…
…providing clear evidence…
…that within our territory…
…with support and direct participation
…of the US Embassy in Kiev…
…the "TechCamp" project is realised…
…under which preparations are being made for a civil war in Ukraine.

The "TechCamp" project prepares specialists for information warfare…
…and the discrediting of state institutions using modern media…
…potential revolutionaries…
…for organising protests…
… and the toppling of the State Order.

The project is currently overseen and under the responsibility…
…of the US ambassador to Ukraine…
…Geoffrey R. Pyatt.

After the conversation with the organisation "Volya“…
… I have learned…
…that they succeeded to access Facilities in the project "TechCamp“…
…disguising as a team of IT specialists.

To their surprise, briefings on peculiarities of modern media were held.

American instructors explained how social networks and Internet technologies…
…can be used for targeted manipulation of public opinion…
…as well as to activate protest potential…
…to provoke violent unrest on the territory of Ukraine…
…Radicalisation of the population and triggering of infighting.

American instructors show examples of successful use of social networks…
…used to organise protests
…in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya.

"TechCamp" representatives currently hold conferences throughout Ukraine.

A total of five events have been held so far.

About 300 people were trained as operatives, which are now active throughout Ukraine.

The last conference "TechCamp" took place on 14 and 15 November 2013…
…in the Heart of Kiev on the territory of the US Embassy!

You tell me which country in the world would allow…
…a NGO to operate out of the US Embassy?

This is disrespectful to the Ukrainian government, and against the Ukrainian People!

I appeal to the Constitutional Authorities of Ukraine with the following question:

Is it conceivable that representatives of the US Embassy…
…which organise the "TechCamp" Conferences…
…misuse their diplomatic mission?

–– Let him speak ––

Carry On

UN Resolution of 21 December 1965 regulates…
…inadmissibility of interference in the internal affairs of a state…
…to protect its independence and its sovereignty…
…in accordance with paragraphs one, two and five.

I ask you to consider this as an official beseech…
…to pursue an investigation of this case
Thank You!

They identify Roger Waters as "Pink Floyd's bassist"?

The mass killings during and after Covid inevitably become more visible as some of the political tier who did it openly launder money and their murder list through Ukraine. Included on this list are US citizens and cultural figures of real heft. Apparently congress paid for it and are surely implicated if anything should come of it. Leaving fingerprints all over the crime scene does seem to mitigate against this being a move to flush Zelensky, more toward a genuine escalation of the war on dissent.

As Pompeo is calling for his critics to be arrested, the US state apparatus appears to flaunt its total repudiation of the constitution on a cross party basis.

Meanwhile I wonder about the shit ton of US/NATO weapons, some of wich are likely coursing through the black arteries of Europe at this moment, presumably in hands which mostly include NATO affiliated groups.

Mass murder. Mass protests. Massive inflation. Rumours of Gladio. Food and fuel crisis. Even the imminent total privatisation of several UK cities (free-ports/charter cities) wholly owned and run by corporate finance/commerce is another very worrying escalation.

I simply recall the eve of Macron's election. Supposed IS/ISIL/ISIS/Daesh/etc, murdering journalists, hacking television networks, rampaging across a number of French cities then throughout the rest of Europe and its capital. The several well timed appearances of 'former' intelligence assets during both of Theresa May's elections, like ISIS, were all entities trained, armed, supported or funded by NATO, the US, UK, Israel, Saudi, Qatar etc.

Perfect storm really.

Is just to love
And be loved
In return"
