Yes. Far ahead of his time with a number of his observations. Damned shame he left us too early.
(after 911, his site was my first stop, having discovered him a year or so prior. He may have come the closest to discerning the reality of that day, all within the first ~week of the events. I corresponded with him a few times via email during those earlier years after 2001).
https://centerforaninformedamerica.com/september11/I also love his takes on the moon landings. Cutting wit and clarity. I still laugh reading certain portions of it.

I don't think I had ever read those particular newsletters before, the ones in the OP. There is some really shocking stuff in there, firstly that barrage of evidence about FEMA's sabotage of New Orleans, and then (at the end) the quotes from Colin Campbell's speech.
Well-documented, too, and remarkably relevant in 2022 -- Year 3 of COUPVID. It's an understatement to say that the ruling class does not love humankind or have its best interests at heart or make a point of telling the truth. Nearly all of this evidence has been severely under-reported, and many of McGowan's "wildest" claims now look increasingly plausible, if not undeniable.
He is a fantastically readable writer, but he annoyed me back then with what I saw as his unfair and unnecessarily cruel, needling attacks on Michael Ruppert, whom I had read a lot of, and met once, and respected. Both Ruppert and McGowan were courageous and exasperating, and both have now been dead for years. Both men died too young, and in pain. Maybe we can now address the arguments on their merits -- especially regarding "Peak Oil" vs. abiogenic & plentiful -- without forming teams or cultivating old grudges.

Yes, I recall the attacks on Ruppert. Perhaps he'd retract his tone if he had the opportunity to reflect on it years later. We'll never know.
I signed up for those newsletters way back when they were initially 'published'; wish I saved the messages from my email account at the time -- good call revisiting this info now, for the reasons you mention (among others), as I've long forgotten the content, other than the portions Re: abiotic oil exposition.
May revert here after parsing through it again.
