"A smuggler's Life" By Shane Liddick

While researching the Oakland County Child Murders and possible ties with the North Fox Island child pornography network financed by Francis Shelden(there are related, but that's not that issue at hand), I came across a magazine article referenced in the notes of a Detective named Corey Williams, who had been responsible for reviving the cold case of those murders in 2005. Williams had been interviewing this guy named Richard Lawson who had been a pedophile/police informant/human trafficker etc. during the 1970s in Michigan(Lawson had info that an OCCK victim was killed in a snuff film financed by Shelden). This article was supposedly about a human trafficking ring this Richard Lawson character had worked for during the 1990s that operated over the San Diego-Mexican border.
I say supposedly because I cannot find a copy of it.

The title is "A Smuggler's Life", written by Shane Liddick, published in the April 2005 edition of San Diego Magazine.

It's referenced on what is apparently the author's website from 2007: https://sdliddick.wordpress.com/2007/01/01/cv/
- gives http://www.sandiegomagazine.com/media/S ... lers-Life/ (dead link) (no internet archive of it, i've played around with the urls as well.)

I know this article exists because it is referenced by San Diego magazine in the 2005 june edition: https://books.google.com.au/books?id=Ww ... fe&f=false

It is then also referenced in a letter to the editor in the 2005 july edition: https://books.google.com.au/books?id=bA ... fe&f=false

Of course, the april 2005 edition referenced is missing from these google archives.

San Diego magazine has purged its archives prior to around 2014 as well.

I've emailed Shane Liddick at addresses i've found for him online, no response.

I think it's been scrubbed from the internet. The only thing I can think of is somehow finding a hard copy to order on ebay. But as of yet haven't had any luck finding one.

The reason I'm so interested in this article is because I suspect Richard Lawson was involved in smuggling mexican children into California during the 1970s in customized vehicles, who were used for snuff films: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/9958723 ... smuggling/

While Lawson was in Michigan he was operating with a crew of pedophiles which included mechanics at the general motors group of companies, and these pedophiles also likely provided GM executives with boys. It was a member of this group who Lawson had said made a snuff film of an OCCK victim for Francis Shelden. But that's another story.
