Conspiracy in Findhorn, Urantia, A Course in Miracles...

This may or may not be the beginning of a thread specifically on Findhorn, but I thought I should post this, even though I myself am undecided regarding some of the assumptions here about electromagnetic mind control technologies...

CONSPIRACY IN THE URANTIA MOVEMENT:
Overview

MKULTRA

The purpose of the CIA's MKULTRA was to research and develop methods of covert control of unwitting people for exploitation by government defense and intelligence agencies. Drugs, hypnosis, electronics, and psychology (including parapsychology and the occult) were their basic research areas. Like any good scientists they thoroughly reviewed the historical documentation which related to their areas of interest. They farmed out experimental projects to a list of prestigious universities and to government agencies such as the National Institute of Health and the National Institute of Mental Health (these also funded their university contract work with grants).

The chief officers, MKULTRA Director Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, and his superior, Richard Helms, when their pernicious activities came to light, burned all the records (fortunately overlooking boxes of financial records that had been stored separately). They did what they could -- which was considerable -- to keep the general public and responsible government authorities from knowing what they were up to, as well as the precise reasons for it. Some things are generally understood, however. Gottlieb, Helms, and other knowledgeable officials were required to testify before Congress, many of them have been interviewed by writers, and some of the science which their researchers originated has been replicated outside of their curtain of secrecy. So there is information from fairly reliable sources. The waters, however, have been muddied by purposeful disinformation as well as by conspiracy theory fanaticism and paranoia. It is not always possible to know where to draw the line.

Although government mind-control projects were in operation as early as the 1940's (during which along with other things the Russian, drug-brainwash "show trials" were studied), MKULTRA, which both grew out of them and absorbed some of them, began operating about the time that the North Koreans were brainwashing POWs with a little help from their Chinese friends (1950s). And the Chinese techniques motivated them to do a little reverse engineering, that is, the Americans copied the Chinese methods. But they did not limit themselves to just that.
The Penetration of Off-Beat religions

Author Miles Copland states that when the CIA's Special Projects Division makes "connections with international religious groups for the purposes of aiding or supplementing espionage operations (it) is almost as touchy an issue as its association with criminal rings. To start with, Jewish and Catholic organizations are out. . . . Organizations stemming from other religions are fair game, however." And he quotes one CIA official as saying that before they "tie into a religious group it's got to be so offbeat that anyone in the agency who belongs to it may be fired as a security risk."

The records show that shortly before The URANTIA Book was published, the CIA began an extensive search for, and development of exceptionally-gifted persons exhibiting perfect esp performance (1952), and the following year MKULTRA planted at least one "very specialized observer" at seances, seeking a "broad surveillance of all individuals attending meetings". In studying the literature they would have undoubtedly encountered Dr. Sadler, who might be characterized as the "midwife" of The URANTIA Book had previously published writings debunking spiritualism. From them MKULTRA's analysts would have learned about the "contact personality" and might have been very interested.

In 1958 MKULTRA LSD supplier and running dog, Al Hubbard contacted Urantia movement inner circle habitué, Meredith Sprunger, for information about The URANTIA Book and the Urantia movement. Sprunger, however, does not remembers the outcome if any. He was, however, impressed with Hubbard's credentials and associates, among whom were some of the elite of the psychedelic drug fraternity. (see letter at, http://urantiabook.org/archive/history/sprung_1.htm)
The "Voices" of Findhorn

Britain and Canada were partners with USA in the early mind-control studies -- in fact British Intelligence was thought to be its most important liaison. In 1951 the CIA induced Britain to begin its own experimental projects shortly before Eileen Caddy began hearing an inner voice which identified itself as "God". Her then-current husband, Andrew Combe, from whom Peter Caddy virtually stole her away -- who was, by the way, Caddy's own Royal Air Force (RAF) commander -- was a member of Moral Rearmament, into which the CIA had known ties. Circa 1956 Peter Caddy and Sheena Govan (ex-British Intelligence) isolated Eileen Caddy on the Scottish island of Mull. It is populated largely in the south by Duart Clan Maclean. Eileen was subjected to what appears to be nothing other than a classical (Chinese/Korean-type) brainwashing procedure -- isolation, sleep deprivation, prolonged maintenance of painful positions, ego-devastating disparagement, etc. -- and was possibly given drugs as well. This followed a previous, aborted, less intense episode which culminated in a suicide attempt by Eileen. Before the second, more intense procedure was performed Eileen refused to believe the "voice" was God apparently because her upbringing was strictly Protestant. Afterwards she accepted it.

The British military psychologists were at that time beginning to write the book on an infant field of research: personality testing and assessment. Whether Eileen scored high on tests or whether her husband just wanted to dump her is unknown. Also, before her first marriage, she and her brothers had run an inn catering to the RAF -- so she was a known entity. In any event it appears that she was picked for some reason, and then RAF Officer, Peter Caddy, procured and developed her, exploiting her marital dissatisfaction. And it was not long (1954) until she was beginning to hear an inter-cerebral "voice" which identified itself as "God". Peter encouraged her to listen and accept by regaling her with tales of his own purported spiritual contact years earlier in Jerusalem, when a "voice" -- so he claimed -- had spoken to him..

She was led by the "voice" and accompanied or encouraged by two female ex-members of British Intelligence (one, Sheena Govan, who was married to but separated from Peter Caddy, and the other, Dorothy Maclean, who had been a subordinate of Goven in British Intelligence, and was then-currently her "disciple") along with her husband, Peter, who had undertaken at least one secret wartime mission for his government. Working together they established (1962) the "spiritual" New Age community of Findhorn abutting an RAF reconnaissance base in Scotland. Directly adjoining the Findhorn property was a fenced area, marked secret, and guarded by dogs.

Later, in 1965, Peter Caddy would gate crash a New Age event where a majority of its leaders had gathered at the home of the nephew of a former wartime propagandist to announce the existence of Findhorn (admonishing them that while they were just "talking", he was "doing"). Present at this event was the former chief officer of British Air Intelligence. Ostensibly Caddy had no connection with the "New Agers" then.

That was the same year that A Course in Miracles (ACIM) channeler Helen Schucman began "a dramatic progression of waking dreams . . . culminating with her experiencing a Voice" while employed at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons Psychology Department, where expert brainwasher and hypnotist, Herbert Speigel, was her colleague. The head of Schucman's department was William Thetford, a former spy who would contract for a research grant from MKULTRA (Subproject 130) during the channeling of ACIM. Another of her colleagues (though apparently not at the University), who was also co-author with both her and Thetford of scientific papers on MKULTRA's chief psycholigist, John Gittinger's Personality Assessment System (PAS), David Saunders, was also an MKULTRA researcher who was mentioned in John Marks book, "The Search for the Manchurian Candidate".

And that was also the same year that then-future Urantia movement official, General (then Major) Duane Faw, was poised just over the horizon from the Dominican Republic with his combat-ready Marine amphibious unit, ready to go ashore and seize its government if need be during the CIA operation there. However, because of the way events fell out he was not used then. He also had been nearby and available in a similar capacity during the CIA's Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba four years earlier. President Kennedy, however, forbade overt USA intrusion.

One of the seminal "members" of the Findhorn community was a man named Robert O. Crombie (called "Roc"). Crombie had been a virtual hermit before Caddy took him under his wing. Then he and Peter Caddy traveled around Europe and during their trip Roc began to have what were called spiritual experiences, but which when described by writer Paul Hawkin (The Magic of Findhorn) read like nothing other than guided LSD trips during which he "saw" and communicated with "the great God Pan", a goat-like humanoid. Also, one of the ex-British Intelligence members, Dorothy Maclean (the same name as the Mull Island folk), began to "see" and communicate with garden fairies who purportedly caused giantism to manifest in Findhorn garden produce -- an effect similar to that documented around Chernobyl after the nuclear accident there released radioactive materials into the local environment. These peoples' purported "contacts" were taken seriously at Findhorn! And huge radishes were displayed as being evidence of authenticated spirituality!

Even the garden itself was hailed as a "miracle", growing as it did in a cold climate and purportedly unproductive soil. But Caddy had worked tons of seaweed compost into it, and it goes unremarked that later visitors included a grand niece of a former Prime Minister, who was herself a renowned expert gardener, another visitor was a man who bore the dubious title of "King of Compost". It must not be ruled out that they may have been employed as advisors before their public appearances at Findhorn. A buried heating system is not out of the question, either. And the Findhorn garden may have also been bathed with radiations from the airbase next-door.

Hawkin who visited Findhorn in the 1970s claimed that there was an energy field felt and commented upon by all members, which permeated the community, but which could not be felt across the road. He depicts it as not quite a "buzz". A "buzz" such as that has been associated with Channeling (see 1979, Ken Cory, below). There are other descriptions in his book that appear to be drug reactions. Hawkin, I should point out, was oblivious to anything but surface implications. And all of these phenomena were represented by Findhorn management to be "spiritual" or proof of genuine spiritual bona fides! He hardly questions that assertion.

It seems obvious for these and other reasons that Findhorn was the British mind-control experimental project which they had agreed with the CIA to undertake. It appears from what went on there that they were field testing mind-altering drugs and other agents (microwaves, focused energy fields?) as they were being researched and developed in the USA by MKULTRA. Some of the most obvious substances, according to Hawkin's descriptive writings, were marijuana derivatives, "love drug", and LSD. As early as 1957 the CIA had been using at least six drugs operationally -- a number which doubtlessly grew over time. Many more substances no doubt needed testing. Drugs represented the main thrust of MKULTRA research in those days by all accounts. And they scoured the world's tropical rain forests and pharmacopoeia for possibilities.

A religious community provides a number of distinct advantages for experimenting on human guinea pigs. It creates an isolated environment like a laboratory. And since it attracts relatively undiscriminating people (the others can be weeded out, like the hippies were at Findhorn, who might have been expected to know LSD from G-O-D) and who therefore cannot easily be seduced into accepting as "spiritual" whatever weird, drug- like symptoms happen to effect themselves and their consciousness. The seducer's job, apparently, belonged to Peter Caddy, and had been his from the beginning with Eileen -- both sexually and spiritually. After becoming her adulterous bedmate, he always helped her overcome her tendencies to disbelieve in the authenticity of the "voices". William Thetford played a similar role to ACIM channeler Helen Schucman in the 1960s. And General Dwane Faw was on hand to officially encourage and promote Teaching Mission channeling within the Urantia movement in the early 1990s.
"CIA Cults"

So, the USA, apparently following the British lead developed Jim Jones and the People's Temple, co-opting an already existing, more or less legitimate, non-mainstream church ministered to by the charismatic Jones. The CIA's fingerprints are all over the project, including the fact that some of the People's Temple members assassinated Congressman Leo Ryan (who was then-currently engaged in uncovering what he called "CIA cults") near Jonestown earlier in the day of the 1978 "massacre" (falsely called a "mass suicide", although that was one aspect of it), which terminated the experiment and "sacrificed" the lab animals -- who in this case happened to be human. It appears that Jonestown also provided field testing for MKULTRA mind-control drugs. See: Was Jonestown a CIA Medical Experiment? A Review of the Evidence, by Michael Meiers

Likewise there are intelligence community and Special Operations fingerprints all over David Koresh and the Branch Davidians. A web search will quickly lead to theories asserting that "Manchurian Candidate" assassins -- actually "sleepers" -- were being developed there. What must take place to turn a religious group which loved scriptural lessons and guitar music into people who will take up arms against their government, as they did in 1993 in a confrontation they had little rational hope of surviving? How much conditioning does it take for men to willingly give up their women, including wives, lovers, and even underage daughters (12 years old, I believe), to a religious leader's bed and agree to lead celibate lives themselves? A powerful lot!

Koresh, like Caddy, followed a "voice" which he believed to be "God". Its induction was carried out in Israel with all the earmarks of a method pioneered by the CIA, wherein spook kidnappers (probably operating out of vans or Winnebagos) used drugs and hypnosis to program false memories of alien abductions, if researchers of this aspect of ufology are correct. Koresh's experience differed only in that it fit a Biblical or Kabalic theme of some kind of supernal ufo. The whole Bible was apparently forced into his subconscious memory by a variation of "psychic driving", a procedure developed for MKULTRA circa 1957 by Dr. D. Ewen Cameron at Allen Memorial Hospital in Montreal in Canada, where he conducted unethical experiments on patients who had come to him for help. His goal was to break down existing behavior, produce a blank mind, and program new mental patterns by way of closed-loop audio transmissions. His patients were heavily drugged.

In 1964 Cameron suddenly retired, apparently giving no reasons, and returned to his home in Scotland -- which, of course, was where Findhorn, which was just getting underway then, was and still is located

The modified technique used on Koresh apparently focused video directly into his eyes. After the "abduction" (a term which fails to express his willingness to participate in the fantasy) Koresh was left with the intra-cerebral "voice" which he believed was God's, and he had an eidetic memory of the entire Bible, which he experienced as if it were a movie. And, with those tools he wound up at Waco, killed by twin head-shots (an assination technique called "double-popping" by the Navy Seals, who cross train with FBI Hostage Rescue Teams, such as attacked the Branch Davadian compound), and his body burned (another Seal tactic is to set fires to destroy the evidence of their operations). The Waco crime scene was not protected but bulldozed shortly afterward. Little wonder conspiracy theorists have a hard time finding "smoking guns".

So we can see from all this that MKULTRA likely bent offbeat religions to its uses from the beginning ("spiritualism" arguably being one). Interestingly, in 1971 Eileen Caddy's "voice" was discontinued, and in the Urantia movement that same year Harry McMullan made initial contact between Vern Grimsley's Family of God Foundation (FOG) and Radio Free Europe (RFE) while in New York. It is known that RFE at that time was a CIA proprietary. Later Congress made the agency dissassociate itself from the propaganda broadcasters.
Artificial Telepathic "Voices"

During all the intervening years MKULTRA refined its technology and acquired some finesse. It seems to me undeniable that Vern Grimsley represented a project with a design similar to that of David Koresh. Both followed a "voice" of a purported supernal (plural in Vern's case) having an identity which accorded with each's own fixed beliefs. Likewise both put their people in a storm-fenced compound where they began stockpiling weapons and planning armed defense strategies, Vern's with the help of URANTIA Brotherhood (now Urantia Book Fellowship) Judicial Committee member, Teaching Mission proponent, and CIA operational-backgrounded Gen. Duane Faw (USMC, Ret.). And just like David Koresh's people, they began preparing to survive WW III or "Armageddon".

Also a current reader of The Urantia Book and active Urantia movement member told me privately and confidentially (so I will not reveal his name without permission) that ex-NSA officer, then-current-Foreign Service Officer, past-URANTIA Foundation Trustee, Neal Waldrop, told him in 1982-83 that an intelligence agency had been "mingling with the affairs of the Urantia movement" (the reader's words). But that it no longer was presently then. I suspect Waldrop referred to MKULTRA, but he could hardly be expected to admit to an ongoing NSA undercover mission in the movement in which he, himself, might have been a secret operative.

[State of "synthetic telepathy" Technology:] 1973 : An audiogram (computerized voice analogue) is pulsed on a 300Mhz to 3000Mhz microwave carrier through a soundproof barrier and is heard by Dr. Joseph Sharp at Walter Reed Army Hospital. (LEADING EDGE)

1974 : The spoken word of a hypnotist may be conveyed by modulated electromagnetic energy directly into subconscious parts of the brain. The subject cannot consciously control the information input." A monograph entitled "Psychotronics in Engineering" put out by the Joint Publications Research Service in "J.F. Schapitz proposes a project, later funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, showing how the Arlington, VA. repeats Schapitz's claim, adding the input "voices would program the subconscious mind without employing any technical devices for receiving or transcoding the messages...."(my italics) (LEADING EDGE)

1974 : The author of Microwave Auditory Effects and Applications, Dr. James Lin, notes that "the capacity of communicating directly with humans by pulsed microwaves is obviously not limited to the field of therapeutic medicine." (LEADING EDGE)

1974 : An Army Medical and Information Agency document, entitled, "Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation" discusses, among other things, the induction of voices inside the brain by use of signal modulation at very low power densities.(LEADING EDGE)

[NOTE: That, of course, was essentially identical with the Russian technology which surfaced in the public media (see Newsweek, Feb. 7, 1994) during the David Koresh standoff. Had it been used the telephone was the planned vector, and Charleton Heston would have provided the "voice of God"! We see here, however that it might well have been delivered via pulsed microwaves if necessary.]

1977: John Marks makes Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for ORD files on "behavior research related to bio-electrics, electric or radio stimulation of the brain, electronic destruction of memory, stereotoxic surgery, psychosurgery, hypnotism, parapsychology, radiation, microwaves, and ultrasonics". The agency reports 130 cubic feet of material expected to contain pertinent documents. Marks already had 1,600 pages of documents declassified by the CIA.

1979: Ken Cory, whose channelings became the book Starseed Transmissions, writes that while channeling he hears "a low humming, an energy field. . . ." The messages he receives, he says, "came first in non-verbal form on waves or pulsations that carried the concise symbolic content of what I term 'meta-conceptual information'."

Except for the fact that the energy field (remember the so-called "energies" at Findhorn?) could no longer be heard by them by the late1980s, Cory's description bears a distinct similarity to the experience of Teaching Mission "transmitter/receivers", who describe what they hear as being just below the audible threshold. (channelers).
Change of Command

Vern would begin to hear his "voices" in1982. By this time, however MKULTRA was out of the picture, having been exposed and disgraced. Its files had been burned in 1973 by Richard Helms and Sidney Gottlieb, and both were retired. Most of its projects were transferred to the CIA's Office of Research and Development (ORD) researchers claim. Neal Waldrop's appearance on the scene and his activities by which he worked his way from bottom-level readership into an influential, top position in which any secret communications ("mandates" "instructions") would presumably be made available to him -- beginning the year following the file destruction -- suggest, however, that Urantia movement project was transferred to the National Security Agency (NSA). If this seems an unlikely agency, it should be considered that The URANTIA Book represents a "communications" medium. And there is reason to believe that NSA has had at least one undercover, but (like Waldrop) openly agency-backgrounded operative highly placed -- again like Waldrop -- in the ufology field, which also in a sense represents "communications". And both of these "communications" are either with or by "aliens".

All this would suggest that the U.S. government takes extraterrestials very seriously. In fact that is exactly what the man whom I believe was Waldrop's NICAP (National Investigation Committee on Aerial Phenomena) counterpart, Raymond E. Fowler, claimed: "My involvement [while an enlisted man in an Air Force Security unit which operated under the auspices of NSA] brought me in contact with information that indicated that the military took UFOs very seriously indeed." Fowler would in time become Chairman of NICAP and hold positions in both MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) and CUFOS (Center for UFO Studies), as well.

Vern was, as may be surmised from events, used by NSA to divide the Urantia movement, to take out Waldrop's potential competition, and to provide a stepping stone for Waldrop to attain his URANTIA Foundation Trusteeship. Before the decade was out the Teaching Mission would be developed providing numerous minds softened and made gullible by alpha state, ready to do the bidding of intra-cerebral voices or those who channeled the same. Perfect guinea pigs for the people who "transmit" to the channelers.
A Course In Miracles (ACIM)

ACIM presents a different picture. MKULTRA's fingerprints are all over it (see http://urantiagate.com/conspiracy/fleas.html), but it provides no isolated group or groups which can be controlled. However, it is a fact that at its inception William Thetford tried to interest Edgar Cayce's son in it (he was given one of the first copies), which could have been an attempt to co-opt an established religious group. The Cayce sibling rejected ACIM as spurious, however.

For Manchurian Candidate-type "sleepers" -- people who could be programmed with tasks and put on hold -- MKULTRA needed people with split personalities, strong and often forgotten alter egos (invisible childhood friends, etc.). It apparently sought adults who were sexually abused as children (it is charged with sexually abusing children for this reason as well), who often develop split personalities to preserve their egos and to hide their primary ego from the trauma. These alter egos would be called forth under hypnosis, and programmed with various tasks, traditionally assassination, courier work, and (it is charged) whoring (the idea being to blackmail highly placed pedophiles and others). Whether this extremely dark side is true I cannot say, but the web abounds with information about it. And recovered memories provide a kind of documentation for it.

I have made NO close study of the ACIM material, but from what I have seen it appears to present teachings which if believed will conflict with reality and perhaps create unresolved conflicts within the mind. [NOTE: It's "scribe" Helen Schucman reportedly spent the last years of her life in a severe state of depression, see: http://www.petersnet.net/browse/2575.htm, 2nd paragraph]. My guess is that if practiced, ACIM would cause a certain percentage of its followers to develop a split personality resulting from such conflicts, who then were to be exploited for MKULTRA's purposes. This hypothesis would need to be tested by determining if there is psychological evidence that such programmed conflicts would make a person more malleable. Also a catalogue of the ACIM teachings which disparage normal reality discriminations and/or offer alternatives for them which appear to be unreal should be compared with similar perceptions in the literature of abnormal psychology, if such can be found. The question to be asked is if abnormal personality states can be programmed by inculcating the symptomatic thinking of schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder in normal people. I believe there is evidence that it can be.
WARNING!

I would caution anyone who might undertake such research to understand that there exists an inordinate amount of paranoia within the mind control/non-lethal weaponry categories of theorists, and that such paranoia can be catching! It is therefore unwise to immerse oneself in the subject. It should be taken a little at a time and put on hold at the first sign of paranoia-type symptoms (irrational fear of a conspiracy seemingly directed at oneself -- "fear" being the keyword) .

There may or may not actually in fact be a conspiracy directed at the paranoid individual. That is what Freud meant when he said that even paranoids have enemies. It is not the logic of the paranoid which is flawed but the belief! To the extent that you believe the sick fantasy and give into it, it gets worse (more real-seeming); to the extent that you refuse to relate to it as being real and hold to what you really, deeply in your heart and soul know is true, it fades away. In order to get over it one must rely on spiritual resources and deep-seated knowledge of truth behind all contrary appearances. If necessary, objective tests should be carried out -- paranoid subjective reasoning proves nothing! Bach and other brands of flower essence homeopathic remedies for appropriate symptoms are recommended. Valerian root makes a good, short term(!) tranquilizer. Marijuana increases paranoia and alcohol will add depression. Supportive friends can help tremendously.

If you are truly a follower of Jesus, Jesus promises that if you are persecuted you will NOT be afraid. So fear is the real giveaway, since conspiracies can be real. If you are NOT a follower of Jesus, I would advise you to leave such areas of investigation alone and to concentrate on your spiritual growth entirely. Nothing is more important than that, although loyalty to friends and family is on the same plateau.
Motives

I can't know the real motives of an ultra-secret organization whose chief officers, when their pernicious activities came to light, burned all the records (overlooking, fortunately, boxes of financial records that had been stored separately). They did what they could -- which was considerable -- to keep the general public and responsible government authorities from knowing what they were up to, as well as the precise reasons for it.

But in trying to fathom MKULTRA's real motives for developing ACIM and/or the Urantia movement we have to confine ourselves to their then-current (1960s-early 70s) and projected needs and abilities, including technologies. We need to find out what questions were important to them then.

A more pertinent aspect, however, is what the Intelligence Community may be doing now! And whatever that is, I think it would link up ACIM with the Urantia movement's Teaching Mission. If one looks at the history of something -- such as the CIA's mind control work -- and compares it to current needs, its evolution even into the future can often be discerned. There is a very great need for human guinea pigs for testing so-called "non-lethal weapons". Again, the web abounds with information (and disinformation) linking mind control and non-lethal weaponry together.

For testing who-knows-what-specific-technology it might be ideal to have your guinea pigs scattered around the country (or world), as they tend to be in both the Teaching Mission and ACIM instead of grouped where they can compare notes easily. It might also help if their minds can be made ready by repeated and prolonged use of alpha state (1990-2000s Teaching Mission) and/or mild to severe reality displacement (1960-70s ACIM).

Furthermore, with such a system, "assets" would be already "in place" as needed for various intelligence operations, as natives -- even locals -- in the determined locations of their missions. If their only "contact" with their handlers is "remote", and if they are consciously ignorant of their programming and/or retain amnesia after their exploits, then depending upon their reliability, you are approaching the ideal covert agent: less James Bond and more Sirhan Sirhan. If they will carry out armed resistance against duly constituted police forces in a democratic regime, and turn their wives and underage daughters over to a religious sexual predator, and force their children to drink cyanide-laced Kool Ade, and commit mass suicide to be transported after death to a comet-cum-spaceship, what would they NOT do?

People are not only willing to follow what they believe to be "God", but often they are equally afraid NOT to carry out such instructions. Perhaps Vern Grimsley put it best, he said about his "voices": "When they tell me to jump, I only ask 'How high?'" And bringing people to that point was precisely the goal of mind-control research from the start.

Cool article. Trifecta alluded to child abuse at Findhorn, so I was kind of looking for evidence of that rather than just accusations.

A few comments:

The Penetration of Off-Beat religions

From them MKULTRA's analysts would have learned about the "contact personality" and might have been very interested.

This is where I'm at right now: rather than the "new age" being a creation of the demonic cabal's spooks, they merely penetrated it to take it over from the inside out.

Like the Empire has throughout the whole rotten history of the Black Iron Prison.

Likewise there are intelligence community and Special Operations fingerprints all over David Koresh and the Branch Davidians. A web search will quickly lead to theories asserting that "Manchurian Candidate" assassins -- actually "sleepers" -- were being developed there. A powerful lot!

Koresh, like Caddy, followed a "voice" which he believed to be "God". Its induction was carried out in Israel with all the earmarks of a method pioneered by the CIA,

This happens all the time without any super-spies dosing anybody. I take this to be another conspiratorial fantasy co-opting history and sucking the life out of humanity.

Thanks again, Dreamy American :)

Stuff like that turned me away from this material when I first encountered it.

As an aside, I avoid and always have avoided channeled material. There's just a weird vibe about it.

Also, you know, truths come from the inside out, not the outside in.

I agree. It appears that those like LaRouche, Coleman, Christian Rightist like Constance Cumbey and etc. who slam the New Age wholesale generally have a Eurocentric, Christian Supremacist agenda...

As to the Christo-centric content in the original article, I think that is due to the author being post-Urantian, but still influenced by the doctrine. Nevertheless, I would say he did a fairly good job of weaving together a mind control theory.

Mike Scott of The Waterboys lived at Findhorn for a bit.

Made two terrible albums there.

Must be evil.

Yeah, I'm not saying the author doesn't raise some good points and facts, but a comment like that will color my perception of everything preceding or following it, as well as make me question the author's faculty of judgment.

Stuff like that turned me away from this material when I first encountered it.

It is also a subliminal invitation to "have faith" in the author's conspiracy theory by associating it with faith in Jesus. Which is a devious little mind control trick right there...

Interesting point. However, it should be mentioned that the Jesus of the Urantian space-opera has little to do with the Jesus of most churches.

Urantia used to be on San Francisco community-access cable- it was the weirdest stuff- freaky people dressed up like Greek Gods and Goddesses cavorting through inscrutable mystic dramas. Alex Constantine considers it all mind control, and I'm inclined to agree...

THE
VERN GRIMSLEY AFFAIR

The possibility of a U.S. intelligence/security community conspiracy being responsible for voices heard by Urantia movement leader, Vern Grimsley, in 1982-83, continued.

The pawns in a chess game are used in various ways: some are employed to open a space for a more potent chessman, to block an advancing opponent, or to check or checkmate a king. And then there are those relative few which upon reaching kings row become a substitute for the most powerful piece on the board. But most of the pawns are simply sacrificed to "the greater good" -- what in terms of the game might well be considered to be for national security purposes. Since the early 1950's the U.S. intelligence community has been employing drugs, hypnosis, electronic mind-reading and thought-injecting technology to spin the behavior of unwitting subjects -- to turn them into exactly the same kind of pawn which Vern Grimsley became for his voices ("When they tell me to 'jump', I only ask, 'How high?'").

So-called "mind control" technology (it would more appropriately be called "mind-penetrating behavior influence and control") has progressed so far beyond merely putting a "voice" into someone's head that, according to Alex Constintine in his book, Virtual Government: CIA Mind Control Operations, it is now able to "map out electrical activity from the visual cortex of a subject's brain" on a computer monitor allowing the on-screen viewing of both dreams and memories, as well as covertly putting "images into the subject's brain while in REM [rapid eye movement] sleep for brain programming purposes." Earlier it used other methods to obtain similar input results. What is new is the extraction ability -- seeing what is in the mind of another. However the existence of this new computer technology has not been confirmed to the degree that "voice" insertion has. This latter is being commercially produced in the United States at present.

[NOTE: This technology, old and new, is discussed in detail elsewhere on the web and may be found with simple keyword searches, however CAUTION is advised in perusing those materials if one has any tendency at all towards paranoia.]

Constintine says the intelligence community calls its pawns "hypno-patsies". The term coming into vogue for the induction of visual and aural materials into an unwitting subject's mind, reputedly the Pentagon term for it, is "synthetic telepathy" (also to be encountered with the same meaning is the term "artificial telepathy").

"Hypno-Patsies"

What happened to Vern Grimsley finds parallels in probable "hypno-patsies" like Jim Jones, who told a reporter that he believed all of his thoughts came from the CIA. [NOTE: Congressman Leo Ryan was assassinated near Jonestown by two of Jones' People's Temple cult-members while he was investigating what he called "CIA-cults". This act apparently set the mass suicide/child-murder at Jonestown into effect.]

Hypno-patsy David Koresh, also followed a "voice" he believed to be God (and it got him and his followers destroyed). Koresh had his reportedly "video-like" photographic memory of the Bible apparently inserted into his brain's memory cells during a very strange experience in Israel before he became the Branch Davidian leader, in which he believed that he was taken to heaven in a Biblical-style UFO, where he met God (who turned out to be an ordinary man). The "voice of God" stayed with him after this event until his death*. Koresh's experience in Israel bears striking resemblance with any number of reported examples of false memory programming attributed to the CIA under the guise of UFO abductions. It was in Israel, also, that Vernon Howell became "David Koresh". The Mossad -- Israeli Intelligence -- is obviously implicated in the operation.

[*NOTE: One exception worth pointing out is that after the initial BATF shootout with the Branch Davidians, Koresh's communications with "God" apparently ceased. They were not restored until after two individuals days apart had passed through the FBI lines and entered the besieged headquarters. The possibility that they were respectively a technician and a parts supplier sent to replace or repair hidden equipment knocked out by a stray round must be entertained. Both men left before the destruction.]

Another likely hypno-patsy on whom synthetic telepathy was used is Eileen Caddy, who followed a "voice" which told her it was God (and which she accepted as being genuine only after having undergone what appear to be nothing other than variations -- not once but twice -- of Chinese-technique brainwashing at the hands of her husband's ex-wife, a woman with a British Intelligence background). The "voice" went on to lead her to found the Scottish New Age community of Findhorn while in the company a second woman with a British Intelligence background -- a purported spiritual "disciple" of the ex-wife. Both had worked together in British Intelligence during the previous decade. The two women were accompanied by Eileen's new husband, Peter Caddy, who himself had been reputedly spiritually "trained" by his ex-wife.

They located Findhorn adjacent to a Royal Air Force base. Their specialty, besides producing giantism in some vegetables (such as occurred naturally in the area around Chernobyl after the nuclear accident there), was passing off what appear to be nothing other than drug induced, hypnotically assisted hallucinations as spiritual contacts. Apparently they were field-testing the mind control drugs and techniques which MKULTRA was simultaneously developing. Eileen's "voice" continued to instruct the community through her for years.

[NOTE: Peter Caddy claimed that before he met Eileen he had, like Koresh, heard voices in his head in Israel -- in this case, Jerusalem. This may have been during the British Occupation, but probably occurred afterward, thus again implicating the Mossad. After having studied and thought about Findhorn for over a decade, it is still unclear to me whether Peter Caddy was witting or unwitting at the start. Whichever it was, he threw himself wholeheartedly to the task at hand, apparently questioning nothing. Most of the above can be discerned by reading between the lines of Paul Hawken's book, The Magic of Findhorn.]

ACIM: A Course In Miracles MKULTRA

The hypno-patsy/synthetic-telepathy list should include Helen Schucman as well. Briefly: after she became employed at the Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons Psychology Department as a psychologist under Dr. William Thetford (who had been hired only months before) Schucman began to have strange, waking dreams and visions which culminated in her hearing of a "Voice" which explained their meaning to her. She went on to channel (her word, "scribe") -- purportedly from Jesus -- A Course in Miracles (ACIM), writing down everything the "Voice" told her, exactly as Eileen Caddy did and Vern Grimsley would do.

[NOTE: The difference between the three channelers was that Grimsley's messages were obviously never intended to be preserved. From the start he simply jotted down what he heard on whatever scrap might be handy, whereas Caddy and Schucman were directed to use bound notebooks. If my own intuition is of value, it appears that the preservation of the "voice's" messages is necessary due to the effects of short-term memory loss. Coming from the same area of the brain as do dreams (having earlier been programmed or transmitted directly into the subconscious mind), it is likely to -- as do many dreams -- quickly dissipate. Today's Teaching Mission channelers use tape recorders instead of notebooks.]

It is important for readers of The URANTIA Book to understand what happened with ACIM (and Findhorn, as well) because first, it provides a context for viewing similar events in the Urantia movement. Secondly, the intelligence agencies were just plain sloppier in handling their earliest religious, synthetic telepathy operations and did not cover their tracks as well as they did in their later ones. Although admittedly circumstantial, the evidence pointing to the involvement of the CIA's infamous mind-control program, MKULTRA, in the so-called "scribing" of ACIM is so powerful that it should leave little doubt in the mind of anyone but true believers. While there is at least some plausible denial in the ostensible reasons for Neal Waldrop's and General Faw's presence in the upper echelons of the Urantia movement organizational structure, the traces of MKULTRA in ACIM (and British Intelligence in Findhorn) are much harder to explain away. Viewed together with the earlier instances it becomes easier to guess at exactly what Faw and Waldrop were up to, although similar proof is lacking.

Another reason readers should be concerned is that ACIM is presently making headway in the Urantia movement in spite of the fact that it is overall contradictory to the teachings in The URANTIA Book. This is true even though there are admittedly some areas of concordance between the two.

It appears that originally ACIM was aimed to piggy-back on the Edgar Cayce movement, but that went virtually nowhere. In 1972 Edgar Cayce's son, Hugh Lynn Cayce -- then president of the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE) -- was before publication given the second re-typed text of ACIM. He read it and decided that it had more than one author, based on what he discerned as discrepant writing styles. This would most likely be the case if it had been created by MKULTRA using synthetic telepathy on Schucman, and not by Jesus, as was being claimed. Interestingly in this context, current lawsuits to control the copyright hinge on this very issue of actual authorship.

Unable to coattail it at ARE, a substantial following had to be created from the ground up. Likely MKULTRA's pseudo-celestials learned from that lesson that they needed to put a supporter in place next time around. And that appears to be what General Faw's role has been in relation to the Teaching Mission vis a vis the Urantia Brotherhood. Of course by then MKULTRA itself was out of business, but evidence indicates that the NSA was getting involved.

Helen Suchucman's "friend" and boss, Bill Thetford, actually during the last few of the seven years of ACIM channeling -- which he actively encouraged and helped -- teamed with a professional colleague and co-author of his and Schucman's, a Dr. David Saunders, to secretly contract to do a psychological study for MKULTRA. Their Subproject 130 was only discovered after MKULTRA had been exposed to the world by a Senate investigation and by boxes of fiscal records overlooked by its threatened Director, Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, and his covert-operations chief, spymaster Richard Helms, in their 1973 file-burning spree. Thus, Thetford was actually being paid by the CIA during the time that the ACIM "Manual" was being "scribed". Very seldom in this investigation of religious, channeled "voices" has evidence of this nature surfaced. Usually those involved are "ex-agents", and as such maintain at least a relatively plausible deniability.

One of Schucman and Thetford's early student-colleagues, Father Benedict Groeshel (also called "Father Michael"), reported that Thetford had admitted to having worked as an agent for one of the U.S. intelligence agencies very early in his career, before he became associated with Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. This information was once posted on an ACIM website but can no longer be found (it was apparently removed about the time when ACIM copyright lawsuit filings referring to Thetford's work with MKULTRA was put on-line). Most likely (and if memory serves) Thetford was connected to the CIA during the following period listed on his vita:

"1951 - 1954 U.S. Government psychologist, Washington D.C., One year (1953) as consultant to Foreign Service Institute, Beirut, Lebanon."

Doctors Saunders, Thetford, and Schucman variously, both singly and in combination, authored a number of scientific papers on J.W. Gittinger's "Personality Assessment System" (PAS) during the period 1962 through 1970. Some of Thetford and Schucman's papers were published by the CIA-front, the Human Ecology Fund (see below). Saunders also collaborated on some papers with Gittinger himself around this period. J.W. Gittinger was MKULTRA's chief psychologist, who found out what made people tick and how to twist it to the uses of the agency. There is, obviously, nothing wrong with authoring scientific papers, but this goes to show the close relationship between these people -- hence with MKULTRA -- during the ACIM "scribing". If the question of who actually originated ACIM were a Sherlock Holmes murder mystery, these publications would represent fingerprints all over the corpse viewed through the magnifying glass of the super-sleuth. Thetford's Subproject 130 would be the smoking gun still dangling from MKULTRA's hand!

[NOTE: A Bibliography of PAS publications, including those referenced above, may be viewed at http://www.pasf.org/print_bibliog.htm. And a list of MKULTRA documents including Thetford and Saunders' Subproject 130 may be viewed at http://www.nemasys.com/rahome/library/p ... ltra.shtml]

Saunders is mentioned in John Marks' book, The Search for a Manchurian Candidate at http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/lsd/marks.htm Chapter 10, as having carried out personality assessment work for the CIA front, Human Ecology Fund, which paid him $140,000. It is possible (but I have not absolutely confirmed this) that he is also the same D.R. Saunders, who was the chief investigator for the Condon Report, an early government UFO study which is considered by many ufologists to be essentially CIA disinformation. At that time the Condon Report's Saunders was a professor of psychology at the University of Colorado and assistant director of its Department of Testing and Counseling.

[NOTE: It is true that Dr. Saunders rebelled against Condon's conclusion that UFOs do not exist, but duplicity is the name of the game for the CIA. A current hypothesis for which there is growing evidence is that many (not necessarily all) UFO abductions were in reality being carried out by MKULTRA mind-controllers in vans and secret hideaways using innocent people as experimental subjects for the induction of false memories of an abduction experience or to provide the same as cover for other experiments, possibly including genetics. This, too, was sometimes detectable -- in one instance even while in progress -- because of the sloppiness of the MKULTRA agent/contractors. Condon's anti-UFO disinformation would have been to prevent future government investigations which might have uncovered these operations. And Saunder's pro-UFO rebellion in that case would have been for the purpose of keeping the idea of UFOs alive, thereby continuing the rationale behind the induced memories.]

Even if Schucman had learned about MKULTRA, as she likely did before her death in 1981, it is possible that she remained unaware of Gittinger and Saunder's connection with it. She likewise might have attached little personal meaning to Thetford's and Saunder's work for MKULTRA -- assuming that they made her privy to their dirty little secret -- not herself realizing how immersed in it all she had unwittingly become!

One other interesting person found in the roundup of ACIM's "usual suspects" is Schucman and Thetford's colleague, Dr. Herbert Spiegel, then as today a recognized expert in hypnotism and brainwashing. Spiegel around the time of the ACIM "scribing" was at the College of Physicians and Surgeons Psychology Department teaching hypnosis. A decade earlier he first became involved in mind-control when he investigated the brainwashed Korean War POWs for the U.S. Army and learned the Chinese techniques used upon them (and later, apparently, upon Eileen Caddy). Spiegal was perfectly capable of making Schucman -- or anyone else among the personality types he deemed most hypnotizable -- have "visions" and/or channel materials from an intra-cerebral "voice" claiming to be that of Jesus. (For more details see http://www.urantiagate.com/conspiracy/fleas.html).
Reasons?

Why would the intelligence communities of America and other nations want to control religionists? One writer, Michael Meiers, in his book, Was Jonestown a CIA Medical Experiment? A Review of the Evidence after an exhaustive study concluded Jonestown was being used as a field laboratory to test mind control drugs on African Americans and Native Americans--a good portion of Jones' followers.

The David Koresh, Waco incident coincided with a vote in Congress on the Brady Bill, which passed. If nothing else the Koresh Affair provided a propaganda victory for domestic arms control. We can only guess at how the Branch Davidian pawns might have been deployed if this need had not arisen. (At least one theory claims that they had been programmed as terrorist "sleepers", Manchurian Candidates put on hold until needed.)

And the Vern Grimsley Affair drove a wedge into the Urantia movement, reconstructing the Board of Trustees (thereby making room for Waldrop), disenfranchising the URANTIA Brotherhood, and isolating the all-important Foundation, which controls the copyright of The URANTIA Book. By dividing the movement and conquering the Foundation, the intelligence community would be in the driver's seat for legally curtailing competing translations, ensuring that only those translations of the revelation -- made by people whom it approved -- containing nationalistically-biased (or possibly "New World Order") political spin get spread around the world. This, however, can remain only in the area of speculation until actual competent bilingual analyses of the various translations are done, comparing them to the 1955 text of the first printing.

One reader writes of "those who were (and are) determined to suppress the Urantia Papers, destabilize, manipulate, and harass Urantia activists, and co-opt and marginalize Urantia community organizations."

Also a divided, weakened Urantia movement helped assure the growth of the Teaching Mission which was planted then, and which -- virus-like -- immediately invaded the Urantia movement's study group and web forum "cells" wherein it replicated more and more of its kind until it now grows like a cancer in the body it was vectored to inhabit.

And again, controlling a widespread, disparate group like the Teaching Mission could create a number of intelligence assets: First, it might, like Jones' cult, provide a ready-made pool of human guinea pigs for testing "non-lethal weaponry". Next, those individual members most susceptible to doing so could be programmed like Manchurian Candidates (or more appropriately, like fanatic suicide bombers) to carry out various intelligence tasks. An early example of what might have been the testing of such a possibility took place at the same time as the Vern Grimsley Affair:

Then, a part-time volunteer staff employee at the Foundation/Brotherhood headquarters in Chicago also received intra-cerebral "instructions" which she was assured would help prevent the Third World War (she had been told that Grimsley's voices were both genuine and correct). Accordingly she was assigned to carry out some apparently simple tasks which she maintains were completely mundane in character with no obvious connection to the purported goal. She did exactly as she was told and still believes that she had been contacted by supernals. The woman even moved to another part of the country and started a small, New Age-oriented business at the voice's behest. Although she posted this information on a then-public internet forum I hesitate to supply her name, since I know that she would in no way approve of my doing so -- and she is, after all, not a principal in this investigation. Presently, however, she is one of the staunchest opponents to the idea of a conspiracy in the Urantia movement whom I have encountered. I do not know if "voices" are directing her in this attitude or not. She refuses to be forthcoming to me about her experience.

Far from lastly, the possibility is not to be overlooked that the Teaching Mission, as it grows worldwide in scope on the coattails of the Urantia Movement, could provide cover for actual agents in the field. This may be an important consideration now that their international cover connections with various mainstream denomination missionary groups has been blown. In the end, the uses to which such pawns could be put is only limited by the secret needs of the intelligence/security agency "game players" themselves. It might well be pointed out here that Teaching Mission adherents hail from all walks of life, and represent a number of professions, including more than a scattering of psychologists.

The likely motives for ACIM are less easily discovered. I must admit that I have not studied Schucman's "channeled" material, but a superficial look at it suggests that its denigration of "normal reality" or normal consciousness seems to be bent on creating some kind of mental dissociation and disconnectedness in those who practice its methods. If its present permeation is indeed only "make do" resulting from the failed attempt to infect the Edgar Casey movement, then the actual motive may have been specific to that group alone and hence has disappeared in its present context.

After the Vern Grimsley Affair the climate at Foundation headquarters continued to deteriorate, until in 1989 three Trustees and several staff members resigned in reaction to Martin Myers' actions and policies.
The Chicago Führer

Martin Myers was apparently so convinced that he was right that he tolerated absolutely no opposition. His co- Trustees and staffers claimed he exhibited a "chosen person" attitude and that he alluded to the idea that the revelation was his. When he didn't get his way he was said to actually throw "temper tantrums". We have seen that Christy felt that she needed help in dealing with him, and there are rumors that he even physically abused her -- actually hit her.

Myers' primary focus was said to be "the exercise of control through threats or application of legal authority and power". He apparently made arbitrary policy decisions, and cut the other Trustees out of the loop. In one letter he seems to be comparing those who disagree with him to "wolves in sheep's clothing" who tear at the flesh of The URANTIA Book with their teeth. He is said to have kept an enemies list -- if not on paper, then in his head -- and it was apparently the URANTIA Brotherhood which he distrusted above all other foes, according to one ex-Trustee who also accused the Myers-dominated Foundation of "deceiving thousands of readers".

The Myers-run Foundation -- with the help of the Brotherhood -- did everything in its power to keep the lid on the Vern Grimsley Affair, hiding the truth from the readership and the general public. Only at the time of the split when having believed in Vern became ammunition which could be used against the Brotherhood were the heavily slanted "facts" given wide distribution within the movement!

In 1989 one of the staff people put his view of what was going on in the Chicago headquarters this way: "For some time now, for a period of eight or nine years, I have become increasingly concerned and uneasy about the course the Foundation is following . . . ." That would have begun around the time Christy received her, possibly, audible message circa 1980, which apparently was believed in much of the inner circle to be valid in spite of a c.1954 "instruction" telling her and the movement that it was time to publish, and that from then on they would be on their own -- which has usually been taken to mean that there would be no further overt supernal guidance. Long time friend of Christy, Meredith Sprunger, told me that he feels that if she had received any aural messages she would have told him, but that she never explicitly mentioned having heard voices. That, of course does not rule it out. Others apparently maintain that she told them she did, at least circa 1980.
Synthetic Telepathy

The question must be asked: was that the time (c.1980) when synthetic telepathy was first used on someone in the Urantia movement? And not on Vern Grimsley, but on Christy?

In Scotland, the New Age community of Findhorn's eventual founder, Eileen Caddy, had been following similar aural instructions (no doubt purveyed by British Intelligence) purportedly spoken to her by God for several years even prior to the time of Christy's c.1954 message from "unseen friends". And, of course, Schucman's (most likely MKULTRA- produced) channeling took place between 1965 and 1972. So the technology assuredly did exist in 1980. (For more detail click the In-Depth Timeline link near the top of the page).

But around 1954 MKULTRA was just beginning to get interested in spiritualists -- infiltrating seances and taking down names. Also most assuredly MKULTRA's director, Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, had ordered a review of the literature, where Sadler's name would have had prominence as a spiritualist debunker. And Dr. Sadler had written that an unnamed person who was undoubtedly the contact personality (the man whose mind was involved with the transmission of the Urantia Papers) represented one of only two "spiritualist"-type phenomena which he had investigated but could not debunk . . . that would have been to Gottlieb like a steak tidbit offered to a slavering mutt! But it was not until 1958 that Captain Al ("Cappy") Hubbard, whose contacts include the OSS, CIA, and, as evidence would indicate, MKULTRA, wrote to Urantia movement leader, Meredith Sprunger, asking for information about The URANTIA Book (see letter at, http://urantiabook.org/archive/history/sprung_1.htm and more about Hubbard at, http://www.maps.org/media/bcflashback.html. Scroll down 10 paragraphs). And that likely represents the first actual probing of the Urantia movement by MKULTRA. (For more detail click the Related Timeline link near the top of the page).

It goes against both logic and intuition to believe that Gottlieb would have counterfeited a supernal message announcing the cessation of all further such help if it was his hope to mislead the movement by way of future ersatz spiritual communications. One must therefore ask why the supernal revelators, who took such great care to ensure that the transmission of the text was neither confused with, nor contaminated by the then-current spiritualism, would twenty years later allow similar confusion and contamination of their message to publish the book by giving it aurally in spite of then-existing means for evil-doing mortals to employ synthetic telepathy? The best conclusion is that most likely the 1954 "mandate" was not aural but had been physically materialized in the same manner as was the text itself and as likewise had been the earlier mandates and instructions to William Sadler and the Contact Commission -- that this was true concerning the text was both sworn to in a legal deposition by Meredith Sprunger and is revealed in The URANTIA Book (ref., 1258 A, 114:7:6).

[NOTE: This same reasoning concerning confusion of spiritual communication with technological humbuggery equally applies to TeaM's purported celestials -- the answer there, of course, is that they are NOT celestials, but are fakes.]

But this c.1980 apparently aural message and/or the widely held belief in its genuineness acted to set Vern Grimsley up, so that when he began to hear the "voices" in 1982 he would believe in them. If the supernals had indeed acknowledged that he was a "Reservist", what could he NOT expect to transpire? A personal "contact"? Why not? The fact that it was nothing like the supernals' contact with their human contact personality was completely ignored until afterwards.

The differences were like night and day. Concerning the "channeling" which preceded the later, physically materialized writings, the contact personality was always unconscious (asleep) and unaware of everything which transpired. The sessions were attended by Sadler and his wife -- herself a physician -- along with the wife of the sleeper. All of the supernal information was presented to a group, never to single individuals. Not only that but controls were later instituted to help prevent any type of deception which might have been involved. Unlike Sadler, both Vern and TeaM have accepted everything at face value, questioning nothing. Their sessions vary in the other aspects as well, except where TeaM is channeled to a listening group (but by a conscious, aware channeler).

[NOTE: The possibility cannot be ignored that Christy, not Vern, was actually the intended victim since women were used in both the ACIM and Findhorn operations. In that case, Martin Myers (or even up-and-coming Neal Waldrop) might have been slated to act as her own Peter Caddy/Bill Thetford, offering encouragement and support -- or if necessary, brainwashing! Inconveniently, however, she died the following year.]

The Rewritten "Law"

Those who try to explain away Grimsley's experience as having resulted from neurosis or strain (Vern was apparently a workaholic), calling Occam's razor -- the Law of Parsimony -- to their aid, close their eyes to the whole picture, leaving the overall context wherein this event took place unexplained. Neither do they factor in Neal Waldrop's NSA background and General Faw's bizarre-for-a-Marine purported belief in channeling. Their version of the Vern Grimsley Affair might as well, for all the facts it explains, have taken place in an isolated habitant-chamber on the moon or at the bottom of the ocean, rather than in the United States of America where syphilis is allowed to go untreated for testing purposes and where unwitting people are fed radioactive material just to see what it will do! MKULTRA -- if these shallow explainers are to be believed -- must have existed with Darth Vader in a galaxy far away, if at all. Caston, although he compares Vern to Jim Jones, never even mentions the infamous mind control program which had been exposed less than a decade earlier. He obviously never thought to make the connection!

They also distort the Law of Parsimony as representing a kind of proof, which it definitely does not! For instance, according to Caston's report, Doctor Paul D. Knott, who came up with the stress theory, presents Occam's razor as a law recommending "that simpler, more basic explanations of phenomena be utilized in place of more fanciful explanations that require considerable leaps of assumption beyond the known facts" (my emphasis). But the Law of Parsimony only establishes priorities among several competing explanations for further investigation, i.e., check out the least complex and most believable ones first. That's all! It would be totally illogical -- if not stupid -- to believe that the simplest explanation is always the correct one. Meredith Sprunger also uses it like Knott does, basically to blow off those who offer more complicated explanations: "Don't bother us with facts," they are saying.
Dr. Knott, a clinical psychologist, met with Grimsley, in the company of others, for an evening and expressly states that his theory ("personal opinion") about stress being the causative factor does NOT rise to the level of a professional diagnosis. However Vern afterward did seek counseling with a practicing psychiatrist. Dr. Carter Newsom apparently found no indication of mental illness or that the voices were aural hallucinations, and he gave Vern a clean bill of health. Caston, not liking this actual psychiatric diagnosis, suggests that Newsom was less than objective. Of course he has to assume in doing so that Newsom would have been willing to trash his own professional ethics and reputation in order to shield Vern.

Presently the general Urantia movement opinion about the Vern Grimsley Affair is divided between those who buy Knott and his distortion of the use of the Law of Parsimony on the one hand; and those, such as Teaching Mission adherents and the Chicago headquarters office worker whose experience I related earlier, on the other. These last still believe that Vern was in actual contact with supernals. Each opinion seems to prefer mind candy which allows one to ignore unpleasant facts which are not by them to be believed. And both sets of people appear to need to do little more than to recite a few times as a mantra the words "conspiracy theory" and "conspiracy theorist" to convince themselves that the facts which I have marshaled have no value. This absolves them of the need of making a genuine assessment of the evidence. However, The URANTIA Book presents the following thought for our consideration:

"The great mistake is that, when life problems excite our profound fears, we refuse to recognize them . . . the average person prefers to cling to the old illusions of safety and to the long-cherished false feelings of security. Only a brave person is willing honestly to admit, and fearlessly to face, what a sincere and logical mind discovers." (1773 C, 160:1:7)

Martin and the "Midwayers"

Besides Vern and Christy, it must be asked if Martin Myers also began to hear "voices" at this time as well. Clyde Bedell wrote during the next year that the revelation was being "subordinated to some words from beings unknown". Was it the fact that Martin was being positioned by instructions from "unseen friends" which provided the justification allowing one of his supporters to state that Martin "is the only Foundation or Brotherhood leader who had the perception and courage [read: "instruction or mandate"] to openly declare his opposition to Vern's 'voices'"?

In 1989 the entire Executive Committee of the URANTIA Brotherhood were signatories to a letter to the Foundation Trustees referring to "Martin's questionable and secretive use of 'instructions' or 'mandates' supposedly given [by supernal beings] in confidence to our predecessors". If Myers was also receiving his own personal "instructions" he wasn't saying. But his behavior leaves the indelible impression that he was doing exactly that. How else can one explain Trustee Helena Sprague's 1990 written statement that "Martin has been heard, with several present, to bestow approval of the midwayers on one individual and to tell another, 'The midwayers are not pleased with you . . . you are in league with Lucifer.'"?

It cannot be ruled out, either, that the Trustees and staff who resigned, citing their strong disagreement with Myers' tactics and policies, may have been helped along the way by hypnotic "voices" whispering in their ears or invading their dreams at night. After all, one of The URANTIA Book's highest virtues is to be like Van and stand fast in the midst of adversity -- not to flee! To leave evil free to gain its ends is completely foreign to the book's teachings.

In any event, the new Myers-dominated Board of Trustees was free to do whatever it, or Martin's "unseen friends" wanted. Besides Myers there were on it two of his old college fraternity brothers, Hoite Caston and Richard Keeler (Keeler, when he eventually replaced Myers would be accused of threatening the life and livelihood of a reader who opposed his policies). And Neal Waldrop, all the way up his ladder now, got one of the seats. The fifth member, Patricia Sadler Mundelius (Doctor William Sadler's granddaughter), was probably brought in for whatever dignity the Sadler name could bring to the kangaroo proceedings, and she would be in for a wild, wild ride.
Do the Kangaroo Hop!

The first thing on the agenda was to disenfranchise the URANTIA Brotherhood. Next the Foundation initiated a lawsuit over the copyright against sister reader, Kristen Maaherra, denying again, via lawyer-mouthpiece -- this time on record in a court of law -- the Book's supernal origins. The book was (according to the now-current spin) actually authored by way of the questions asked of the supernal Revelatory Commission by the human Forum, a group whose main purpose was to study the proto-Urantia Papers which were received, that is, physically materialized prior to 1934. As a result of the perversion of fact, the denials, and the lawsuits against fellow readers a large segment of the Urantia movement now considers the Foundation to be in default of its spiritual mission.

In 1992, after much of this URANTIAGATE "conspiracy factor" information was sent to all of the Foundation Trustees and other movement leaders, Neal Waldrop resigned and Martin Myers was dismissed from the Board of Trustees. Then Myers was later successfully sued to relinquish his directorship of the Foundation

[NOTE: While I would dearly like to be able to take credit for these changes, no direct cause/effect relationship has yet been established to my knowledge. The Trustees are traditionally secretive about the reasons for their activities.]

"As The World Turns" and Other URANTIA® Soap Opera Sagas

One of the present Trustees, Mo Seigel, had in 1991 voiced the charge of lying against the Foundation, but after being elected to serve on the Board, he apparently began to justify its "middle of the road" misrepresentations. The URANTIA Foundation spent, ironically, the identical amount in legal fees that Vern paid for his F.O.G. headquarters (reputedly $4 million) to keep Maaherra from giving away her digital index of The URANTIA® Book (the activity which the Foundation held violated their copyright).

Maaherra accuses the Foundation and Seigel -- who originally supported her position before he was made a Trustee -- of "sophistry" and worse. My guess is that since becoming a Trustee, Mo himself has been turned into a "hypno-patsy" or his former disagreements with Foundation policies have been "healed" with "acoustic psycho-correction".

Other than financially breaking Maaherra with the legal fees necessary to her defense, one can find no actual accomplishments of the Foundation's action against her. Now several such searchable URANTIA Books which do exactly the same thing as hers -- but possibly more efficiently -- can currently be accessed on the internet employing as justification the "Fair Use" clause of the copyright law. Her "sin" was merely in being the first! Most people who have held on to her 5" floppy disks cannot even use them in their current computers!

Upon leaving the Foundation, Foreign Service Officer Waldrop was transferred to the New Zealand area, where a large NSA facility is located. New Zealand is also the place in which the Teaching Mission had been hatched!

More recently Harry McMullan -- the former F.O.G. member who in 1971 (according to one F.O.G. document reputedly seen by Hoite Caston) actually set up the contact between Vern's group and the CIA proprietary, Radio Free Europe (see In-Depth Timeline link) -- successfully defended his right to publish part of the Urantia Papers as a separate volume: Jesus: A New Revelation, or JANR. A U.S. District Court agreed with McMullan that the copyright renewal held by URANTIA Foundation was invalid. An appeal by the Foundation is pending.

Currently Dr. E. Kwan Choi, a Professor of Economics at Iowa State University who was elected to URANTIA Foundation Board of Trustees in March, 1997, sued the other four Trustees after they attempted to remove him from the board. His side of the picture can be viewed on the website which he set up for that purpose at http://www.SoldiersoftheCircles.org.

It might be realized that South Korea, from which Choi -- now a U.S. citizen -- originally hails, likely hosts one of the highest concentration of CIA personnel in all Asia. Its own intelligence agency (the KCIA) was set up with the help of the CIA. And KCIA interest in at least one Korean/American religious cult (the Sun Myung Moon Organization) has been exposed by U.S. Congressional investigations. Moon, as might be guessed, along with his wife, left Korea for America in 1971 because a "voice of God" told him to do so!

It should not go without consideration that it was "Korean-Kwan's" translation onto his native tongue, rather than "NSA-Neal's" never-completed translation of The URANTIA Book into ostensibly State Department-learned Chinese, which was used by the Foundation to first present the revelation to Asia. (It would, of course, have been the height of insanity to have so-used a translation with direct open ties to the NSA and U.S. State Department). I have not been able to ferret out anything about Choi's past, and web search fails to turn up any obvious link between Choi and the KCIA or any other intelligence agency (this actually worked with ACIM's William Thetford! Twice!) A more thorough investigation needs to be made.

[NOTE: Other than the fact that Kwan's translation was the one used (and my assumption that NSA did not throw in the towel with Waldrop's resignation) I do not even have just cause for speculation that Kwan Choi is anything other than what he says he is and what he appears to be.]

Kwan Choi's lawsuit has stirred up and rekindled the relatively cooled ashes of the fiery division caused by the Vern Grimsley Affair and the copyright lawsuits. The alignment of supporters and detractors is virtually unchanged. Kwan is viewed as an anti-hero on the lines of Maaherra and McMullan (or David against Goliath in the Bible) by one faction, and as a paranoid and traitor by the other. And the Foundation is either a devil or an angel . . . or being led by one or the other -- seriously! But Kwan's current maul stroke has driven the wedge that much deeper into the split in the Urantia movement which began to appear just about the time Vern Grimsley heard a disembodied voice telling him "We won!"

We can only imagine what the Urantia movement's future will bring. To some extent whatever current Trustees' "unseen friends" decide, I suppose (as moderated, of course, by the will of God!)

The war on terror, however, with its drain on budgetary and personnel resources may likely cause a cutback in nonessential programs, and especially those which are likely to blow up in the faces of the intelligence/security community, which needs public trust and support like never before. Perhaps the days of such wildcat, rogue, unconstitutional, and illegal operations against American citizens (and hopefully against all other innocent people) will be soon behind us. We can at least pray together that if the allegations on this site are true, that the Father cause them to be put to a speedy end, if it accords with his will. For:

"While you may not meddle with the divine decrees concerning eternal life, you shall determine the issues of conduct as they concern the temporal welfare of the brotherhood on earth . . . where two or three of you agree concerning any of these things, it shall be done for you if your petition is not inconsistent with the will of my Father in heaven." (1763 B, 159:1:3)

"You should not fear these unbelieving enemies. I declare to you that there is nothing covered up that is not going to be revealed; there is nothing hidden that shall not be known." (1681 D, 150:4:2)

God's will be done!

Also from the now apparently defunct Urantiagate site:

Aliens 'N' Raelians:
The Real Rael and Clonaid

Raelianism and Clonaid appear to be a guinea pig cult -- a synthetic telepathy-following, self-supporting, subject-providing, secret laboratory for illegal and unethical genetic and human-biological research of every type.

UFO or Mind-Control?

In December of 1973 sports writer Claude Vorilhon had a strange feeling (such as also did Urantia movement's Vern Grimsley a decade later, immediately preceding his first hearing of his "voices") that he should trek through Puy deLassolas near Clermont-Ferrand in southern France. There, in that relative wilderness, he happened upon what he later reported (and apparently believes) was a ufo and a 4-foot tall alien-looking, white humanoid with a slightly greenish tint and wrap-around eyes. The alien introduced himself to the man who was soon to become the first Raelian, as "Yahweh", and told him that the alien race was called "Elohim". That problematical word found in the Bible is variously interpreted and used therein for "God" (it is a plural form of "El"), "angels", and "human judges". Rael, as Vorilhon was renamed by "Yahweh", believes the alien told him it means "those that come from the sky".

Vorilhon's strange feeling had somehow impelled him to bring a Bible along with him and for the next six days the alien -- according to Vorilhon memories -- reinterpreted Bible stories such as the Creation and the Flood in an all-"alien" context: There is no God, no soul, the aliens through their cloning science seeded earth, and so-forth. The part about 'sons of God' having sexual relations with human women (ref. Genesis 6:1) they explained as the alien males' inability to resist the beauty they had created. And the offspring of that union was the Hebrew race.

Rael is convinced that 25,000 years ago some Elohim scientists -- whom Rael is convinced (for no apparent reason which a rational person would buy) are the most intelligent people in the universe -- wished to carry out some dangerous and possibly unethical biological experiments, and were made to leave their home planet to do so. They discovered earth, which, in spite of all archeological evidence to the contrary, was then a waterworld. With explosives they were able to form a huge, multi-continental sized land-mass. Over a period of time they created all the life, as we know it, on earth. Eventually they completed the ultimate goal of their experiment: people like you and me, who are both bigger and stronger than they are, and do NOT have wrap-around eyes!

They had a contest to see which scientist could create the most beautiful and interesting humans, and thus the races came into being. The winner's batch resided in the Middle East, and it was they with whom the alien Elohim could not keep it in their pants and cross-bred. But all the Elohim should not be blamed for this because by that time they had stranded the most dangerous-thinking and unethical of their lot on earth, and returned home. It was these castaway aliens which did the deed.

It was then that the apparently wise, cautious, and ethical Elohim back home decided that the best thing to do was to terminate the experiment entirely. They sent more explosives to earth which created a gigantic Tsunami (tidal wave), Rael posed with fake ufo which we know as -- I am sure you have guessed it -- Noah's flood! And that familiar Bible story, of course, is explained with alienized concepts utilizing spaceships and petri dishes full of cellular samplings instead of arks and animals.

Likely during his encounter experience of the "third kind" Vorilhon was brainwashed and given false memories and perhaps deep programming (ref., "The Controllers", by Martin Cannon ). That is, he did not learn all this sitting in the woods at the alien's knee absorbing the tiny being's words, as the story goes and as he "remembers", but more likely lay hypnotized in a rigged up helicopter (that was what Rael first believed that he saw, either that or a downed balloon), with designer drugs being fed into his arm from a drip bag, and undergoing some sort of higher generation permeation of MKULTRA researcher Dr. D. Ewen Cameron's false memory-implanting technique called "psychic driving" which the unethical psychiatrist had developed over two decades earlier. The process, originally, in the fifties, had relied on looped tape messages.

Cameron's CIA-funded goal was to break down existing behavior, produce a blank mind, and program new mental patterns in his "patients" (mostly consisting of women who sought his help in dealing with despondency caused by marital difficulties -- an over-the-edge "treatment" which reputedly left his patients considerably worse than they began, and for which he was later successfully sued). By the seventies, however, cutting edge science was interfacing microwaves directly with brain waves -- no more clunky looped tapes and earphones. With microwaves a hypnotist could crawl right inside the skull of the subject.

A US Army study published around then, entitled "Controlled Offensive Behavior: USSR", concerned the use of Soviet techniques for targeting individuals with "mind altering techniques" and "the total submission of one's will to some outside force." The study involved the use of pulsed microwaves. And also in the early seventies, the author of Microwave Auditory Effects and Applications, Dr. James Lin, noted that "the capacity of communicating directly with humans by pulsed microwaves is obviously not limited to the field of therapeutic medicine." So what was then likely high on the spooks' wish list may be found expressed in a 1970 article in "Psychology Today" in which psychologist James V. McConnel claimed that "the day has come when we can combine sensory deprivation with drugs, hypnosis and astute manipulation of reward and punishment to gain almost complete control over individual behavior". He suggested that society should shape individuals from birth: "No one owns his own personality". That especially applied to people who fell into certain CIA or other intelligence/security community agency parameters, such as we may presume that Vorilhon did. And as Raelian children may, too (see below).

Other UFO "Influenced" Cults

Slightly over a decade after Rael (Vorilhon) received his new name in the French forest, David Korish in 1985, during a strikingly similar ufo encounter in Israel (where the "ufo" was dressed up in Cabalistic concepts as a merkabah -- a Biblical, rather than an alien, spaceship) came to believe himself to be a "messiah", and was left with a video-like photographic memory of the Bible along with an intra-cerebral Voice of God which remained with him, guiding his footsteps (and apparently encouraging his pedophilia, satyriasis, and desire to shoot BATF feds) all the way to Waco. The technology used on Koresh had obviously improved over that apparently used on Vorilhon, which itself surpassed Cameron's primitive mind-control technology. What took six days for Vorilhon only took (presumably) a matter of hours with Koresh, and the effect was greater. Oh, yes -- Rael was also told that he is the messiah and was given the ability to "communicate telepathically", that is intra-cerebrally, with the Elohim. And like Koresh, Rael's sexual philosophy projects into the twilight zone, too.

The Urantia movement has its own "lunatic fringe" of ufo-inspired cultists, including Bob Burgess, who thinks he is the Devil (aka "Caligastia" in The URANTIA Book), primarily an internet presence, and Tony Delvin (aka Gabriel of Sodona), a genuine cult leader who is "updating" The URANTIA Book via intra-cerebral communications from purported supernal beings. Also the Teaching Mission is associated with the Urantia movement in its intra-cerebrally received (channeled) weltanschauung obviously based on The URANTIA Book; its early recruitment technique of trolling Urantia movement email lists and web-forums for potential true believers; and its virus-like takeover of a number of non-virtual study groups. Teaching Mission adherents are taught, above all else, to engage in fifteen minutes daily of what they call "stillness practice" which appears to be what is otherwise known as "alpha state", a highly suggestive mental condition associated with light hypnotic trance, and which, according to The URANTIA Book, opens the mind to subconscious emanations. (See: Meditation). For that reason The URANTIA Book asserts that such "trance-like" meditations are dangerous when used the purpose of spiritual experience -- people are all to likely to mistake their Brain "God" for the divine real thing!

Interestingly the foremost proponent of the Teaching Mission within the organizational structure of the so-called "official" Urantia movement -- who almost single-handedly gave Teaching Mission its Urantia movement cachet -- has been a retired Brigadier General of the Marine Corps having background associations with CIA operations, Gen. Duane Faw (scroll down linked page to 1961), the former Urantia Book Fellowship (née URANTIA Brotherhood) Judicial Committee Chairman. Also during the early eighties Faw advised "voice"-following cult leader Vern Grimsley on armed defense strategies, which included -- but only if necessary -- the killing of fellow readers of The URANTIA Book who might have hoped to find sanctuary in his compound in a post-nuclear holocaust world. Besides being connected to Grimsley and the teaching Movement, Faw was the leader of the California study group attended by Devlin before he became "Gabriel".
Raelianization

The Raelians also are told to regularly engage in what is apparently alpha-state "meditation" daily (a lá Teaching Mission "stillness practice") during which they are to try to establish telepathic communication with the aliens on their home planet.

Also Rael's followers are instructed: "At eleven o'clock in the morning the Elohim as well as humans shall extend their thoughts towards each other. This is not a time in which members receive messages from the Elohim; rather it is a time in which telepathic impressions are received (presumably a rubric for the loading of subconscious-embedded programs, just in case anything is noticed)." And every Sunday, they are expected to try to meet together in order to communicate telepathically as a group with the aliens.

There are even closer parallels between the reported meditative experiences of the atheistic Raelians and those which Teaching Mission adherents ascribe to more Godly origins: "Primarily emotional impression of love one for another is reported. For the member of the meditation it can be a peaceful experience as well as an emotional one. One member describes feeling great satisfaction and joy in extending her thoughts to her creators. She felt an overwhelming sense of love being extended back to her from her creators" (Albert Varona -- a pdf file). Remote brainwave manipulation -- also called "entraining" -- could be expected to achieve such effects. And the technology to accomplish it apparently has been known for a quarter of a century (see, 1976 patent no. 3,951,134 "Apparatus and method for remotely monitoring and altering brain waves").

I have not confirmed that Raelians do indeed follow intra-cerebral instructions (a lá Teaching Mission, Vern Grimsley, David Koresh -- otherwise known as "artificial telepathy" or "synthetic telepathy"), but this is altogether likely, and proven in part by the fact that the Raelian weltanschuung and the authoritarian doctrines (Raelian Ethics, The New Commandments, And the Keys) promulgated by the aliens apparently have been updated since circa 1973. One must assume that they are following intra-cerebral instructions until proved otherwise, unless the obvious is to be ignored because some mistaken idea about the judicial assumption of innocence until proven guilty is being wrongly applied to the situation.

"All Ya Need Is Love Sex!"

Recruits are attracted into the Raelian cult by way of a recycled hippie-style free love with a twist. For the Raelians sexual freedom is apparently obligatory! Raelian women are to make themselves sexually available to nearly everyone who wants them: "Do not reject someone who wants to make you happy, for by accepting him you make him happy, and this is an act of love." Also: "In fact, if another person is interested in giving you pleasure and therefore happiness, one should not reject that person."

More conventionally to free love they are instructed: "If someone appeals to you physically invite him/her to your place. If you love somebody you should give yourself to this person entirely if they desire it." You can see why, then, when Clonaid hit the news in December of 2002 -- in this sexually repressed world of the nineties and the oh,oh!s -- the Raelians' recruitment mushroomed, and gave them contacts in parts of the world they had not yet reached.

The Raelians are apparently quite accomplished at things pertaining to sexual intercourse. Rael's followers, you see, are required to increase their personal pleasure potential by way of regular, single or assisted "sensual meditations": "Through the touch of the organs and body one slowly raises the level of sense perception. One is asked to gaze directly at one's body or the body of one's partner. Every mark on the body should be noted, every curve felt, and every sensitive area touched. This results in a mutual sense climax which one might assume includes the sexual climax of the body and therefore the mind" (Albert Varona). And Rael wants centers to be opened for the practice of sensual meditation. (Atheistic churches where people fuck rather than worship? That's pushing the U.S. Constitution First Amendment envelope, all right!)

"Oh! Brave New World."

There are two basic long term goals held by the Raelians: the first is "to prepare the people of earth to receive the Elohim [aliens] again on our planet so that we may show our gratitude and love for them" (Albert Varona). And the second is to turn Urantia into a world of cloned humans who live in absolute pleasure and whose work is performed by a genetically engineered, cloned slave class of sub-humans or super-animals: "Do everything possible to create biological robots that will release you from all menial labor and allow you to fulfill yourself and blossom.". Check out H.G. Wells' classic, "The Time Machine", from your video-rental store (or library) if you want to get a picture of the general idea.

The creation of biological slaves was presumably also one goal of Dr. Josef Mengele , the Nazi's forerunner of Rael and Clonaid (perhaps not ironically, the original Raelian symbol -- given him by the experiment-loving aliens -- contained a swastika at its center. This has been replaced by a sunburst design except in places in the world where Nazism is not so sensitive an issue). Although cloning was hardly even a realistic nightmare during his lifetime, Mengele had an inordinant interest in twins (natural human clones), whom he culled out of cattle-carloads of Jews arriving at the camps for special treatment. His abhorrent experiments and callous disregard for helpless children will forever remain headlined in the annals of infamy.

Of course all of that Raelian/alien Brave New World stuff is a lot of hogwash, the membership's main purpose is to support Clonaid research with both cash and human guinea pigs. The Raelian women (have been brainwashed to) believe that it is a high honor to be used as subjects in unethical genetic and biologic experiments which no woman in her right mind would ever even begin to consider being part of and likewise is an assault upon the human rights of cloned children. Besides members' warm, breathing bodies for experimental purposes, cashflow is channeled out of their pockets by an obligatory 1% tithe (small enough not to be off-putting to potential members) imposed on all members, entrance-fee workshops, pricy auto-brainwash tapes, and the real kicker: one of their Commandments tells them to "Leave no inheritance to your children except the family house. All other property should be left to the Guide of Guides [i.e., Claude Vorilhon, aka "Rael"]." Clonaid also sells do-it-yourself cloning technology equipment to the public at large. Remember this when wondering what gift to give to a monster who has everything.

What is so cool (from the spook point of view) about these guinea pig cults is that they are entirely self-supporting. They don't cost Uncle Sam one copper-sandwiched dime of his hard-extorted tax zillions. Plus, genuine scientists contracting with the intelligence community who may have shreds of reputations to keep -- who may not want to be known as "Mengeles" -- can oversee and lead the Raelian researchers remotely via synthetic telepathy. How great to get certified "weirdoes" to experiment on and do your dirty work! I guess it is better than Buchenwald, but not much . . . not, at least, in principle!

So, keep 'em gainfully employed, keep 'em fucking their brains out, and keep 'em doing unethical research which in their own rubric the aliens wouldn't even tolerate! That's how it works. And, oh, yes, have them help out with their own brainwashing and behavior control by repeated alpha state "meditation" coupled with the desire to follow intra-cerebral voices (or slightly subaudial subconscious-imbedded program/recordings which leach into the conscious mind).

The Gospel According to Rael (for people with holes in their heads?)

According to the Raelians (who got it from the aliens) there are three classes of people in this world:

1. The people who help the aliens achieve their goals, and whose reward is eternal life via serial cloning on the all-pleasure world of the aliens -- where Jesus and Moses, and all the religious celebrities already live.

2. The people who do nothing to either help or hinder. They just die and that is it -- perpetual non-existence.

3. Those who get in the aliens' way (such as people who call human cloning unethical and immoral): their lot is consignment to an eternal, serially-cloned life on a planet of pain and torment.

Raelianism appears to be purposefully designed to thwart any member-access of genuine spiritual resources, as well as to prevent multi-generational spiritual awareness and growth.

The Raelian "religion" (wherein "aliens" replace "God") appears to be primarily fear-based (support cloning or else! receive and give pleasure or else! etc.) and productive of guilt trips ("Why do I just want to read a book when I should be sensually meditating with yet another complete stranger?" Or, "Why don't I feel good about my gestating a cloned, genetically-engineered embryo with designer human, insect, and animal genes? If I don't straighten out I will be consigned to alien clone-hell!!!").

By the way, suicide is perfectly acceptable within the Raelian/alien community. What better way to "sacrifice" lab rats and "terminate" botched experiments? Euthanasia ("assisted suicide", as they say in prison lingo?) is approved also. Raelians' dead bodies are not to be buried but turned over to (no doubt security-cleared) scientific researchers. In case ordinary funeral homes, police pathologists, or coroners get their hands on them and raise questions about small, single holes in their skulls between their eyes (from which implanted microprocessors may have been inserted and/or removed): "The first requirement is that each member of the movement should meet with the Guide of Guides (Rael) at least once in his/her lifetime so that the cellular plan of that individual may be transmitted to the Elohim in anticipation of the final judgment of that person's life. According to the commandments this is done through a computer system that the Guide of Guides has in his possession. It is requested that each member ensure that a small portion of the bone from the forehead, between the eyes, be kept in the embassy [to be established in Israel] for the possible recreation [cloning] of that individual" (Albert Varona). Such a procedure if ostensibly performed during a member's lifetime could cover the implantation of a microprocessor into the brain:

"And he [Antichrist] causeth all, both small and great, both rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads . . . ." (Revelations 13:16)

The Pleasure-Principal Downside

You may be asking, "What about pregnancy with all this fucking going on?" (forget about sexually transmitted disease). Well the aliens are on top of that. Abortion (the outlawed source of fetal tissue for experimentation, coveted by scientists) and birth control should be liberally employed, children should only be brought into the world if they are planned and wanted. But if afterwards they start to annoy you, i.e., interfere with your pleasure (need a stinky diaper changed? get colic? get cranky?), they may be freely turned over to be raised by appropriate (read, "intelligence-community run") institutions: "A child should only be kept near if its presence is fulfilling. Otherwise the child should be placed in establishments that society must create to encourage fulfillment (read, encourage human experimentation)."

Raelianism has moved the status of women back to the dark ages. Females have two purphttp://rigorousintuition.ca/board/p ... 160278oses: to fuck and to breed, and even the traditional high purpose of breeding is denied them, which is family formation. Their reproduction function is primarily to produce fetal tissue, clones, and normal children virtually destined for abuse, and possible use as mind-control experimental subjects. It is quite likely that part of the secret agenda which the more atractive women members unknowingly fulfill is to provide sexual services -- free prostitution -- to the ex-special operations, ex-special forces personnel which the intelligence community appears to be using for on-the-ground infiltration and control of its guinea pig and/or other strategic, artificial telepathically managed groups -- which includes New Age channeling.

Children are to be initiated into the joys of sexual pleasure from the start: "the use of the sexual organs and how to receive pleasure from them must be taught to the child". And since ALL sexual mores -- with the exception of what might cause "harm" -- are considered by Rael to be superstitious anchors holding back the progress of the human race, this likely includes approval of consensual sexual child abuse. This alone of necessity would cast a blanket of secrecy and defensiveness over the movement (handy for unethical researchers). It would also apparently turn the children into the ideal candidates for "Manchurian"-style programming -- those who develop multiple personality disorders from sexual child abuse. In fairness it should be acknowledged that Rael has protested Vatican-related pedophilia to, I believe, the United Nations.

Children, of course are to receive NO religious "indoctrination" but are to be confused with presentations of all the world religions (as representing stupid human metaphors for intelligent alien facts). Naturally they are to be thoroughly indoctrinated into Raelianism.

Raelianism appears to incorporate both anti-family and anti-child doctrines as part of its signature identity, which is at the same time atheistic and anti-soul. Permanent heterosexual pairship bonds -- the basis of family formation -- are discouraged. And the burden which the anti-religion of Rael places on children is almost incomprehensible to any form of morality known: children may be produced by biologic experimentation where undesired results cannot be controlled, they may be abandoned at will, they are to be firmly indoctrinated into the acceptance of anti-spiritual, anti-religious attitudes, and finally, they are to be sexually initiated (if not actually abused) at an age previous to any possibility of their giving of knowledgeable consent. And when finally the parents who did these things to them pass on to their greater reward in clone heaven, the children are to be disinherited. The Raelian philosophy appears to amount to child abuse (since it promulgates practices harmful to children) in and of itself! Raelism and Clonaid are surely to be considered part of a conspiracy to abuse children.

On-Ground Infiltration

Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, the infamous director of the CIA's mind-control research and development program, MKULTRA, was forced into retirement when his unethical, secret machinations became public knowledge. After short stints in several locations he settled in rural Virginia, where he lived out the remainder of his life.

Gottlieb had a house built for himself, his wife, and another couple, that was designed around a large central room which he devoted to community meetings of a New Age/intellectual/arts variety, which he facilitated. This appears to have been a prototype for similar units, though not necessarily having an identical physical layout, but reproducing the concept of private dwelling combined with meeting space. These are used for New Age gatherings and/or other purposes. It appears that at least one of the residents of these "homes" will have an intelligence/security background, including ex-military special operations personnel.

Generally infiltrated groups will have individuals with such backgrounds in influential positions close to the leader, if not in actual leadership roles themselves. I have not done extensive research in this area, but it appears to be a constant, and what's more predictable "giveaway" -- a fingerprint, if not a "smoking gun" -- of intelligence/security agency "presence" in off-beat religious (and other, such as ufo) groups. There appear to be a number of people with such backgrounds taking to the pulpit in mainstream religions, as well.
***

Conclusion

My guess -- considering all the child abuse/exploitation allegations leveled on the web against MKULTRA during the era when Vorilhon encountered the ufo in the woods -- is that the Elohim he first saw was an actual child rigged up to look like an alien, the "ufo" was a chopper or a transportable modular field lab, and that everything else (apparently he believes they took him to their home pleasure-planet) was brought to you through the magic of chemistry and mind-control.

I believe that Raelianism has been purposely factored into an atheistic lunatic fringe niche in order to distance it both from mainstream religions and from people who might tend to think things through. It attracts primarily members who are willing to abandon themselves to sensual pleasure, and who will thoughtlessly submit to manipulation by a shadow leadership. Having covert intelligence-community support behind the scenes coupled with its international reach will contribute to its social tenacity, and it will be terminated only on the basis of future diminishing returns or media revelations of intelligence-community/defence connections.

The fact that Clonaid was only established a few years ago suggests that as a result of its new media exposure and the subsequent exponential growth and international outreach of Raelianism which it has engendered, the cult has gone into a new developmental stage which will make Rael, himself, a supernumerary in the eyes of his covert handlers. My guess is that the personality which may be ideal for the formation of a guinea pig cult is not identical with the optimal personality-type needed for heading up a large, international, cutting-edge scientifically-oriented organization. The "Manchurian Guru" soon may be replaced by a "Manchurian CEO".

When all is said and done, Raelianism and Clonaid appear to be, underneath, a secret, self-supporting laboratory for unethical genetic and human-biological research of every type. What may be in store for their children, cloned or otherwise, God only knows! I lament them.

A Urantia, 9/11Truth.org & CIA Mind Control Technology Development Timeline

edited by Alex Constantine

Byron Belitsos – founder of 911Truth.org and a figure to be reckoned with in the 911 Truth Movement, publisher of Jim Marrs' book on the NYC air assaults under the Origin imprint – is the world's leading guru in the Urantia movement, a front for the research & development of CIA mind-controlling psychotronics.

I've attached a highly instructive history of the Urantia cult at the end of the lead article on psychotronics, tracing its origins to Seventh-Day Adventism and the Kellogg family.

Background briefing – For a "BRIEF HISTORY OF THE APOLCALYPSE" in relation to Urantia programming, the Family of God and other prominent theocratic/intelligence cults, see:

The "Voice" of Strangers
(John 10:5)

An In-Depth Timeline Showing the Possible Use by the Intelligence Community of "Synthetic Telepathy" in the Urantia Movement, Teaching Mission (TeaM), A Course in Miracles (ACIM), Findhorn, and Other Religious/Cultic Organizations.

RELATED LINKS: | Short Timeline | The Vern Grimsley Affair | In-Depth Timeline: "The 'Voice' of Strangers" |

[NOTE 1: "Synthetic telepathy" (or as it is sometimes called "artificial telepathy") is defined here as being the human, intentional, surreptitious, production of intra-cerebral "voices", pictures, thoughts, and/or ideas by means of hypnosis, inaudible transmissions, or a combination thereof, which are experienced by an unwitting subject either directly in the mind or apparently extra-cerebrally as emanating from no known source. One of the most current known technologies capable of producing an intra-cerebral "voice" is called "acoustic psycho-correction". It involves the transmission of specific commands via static or white noise bands into the human subconscious without upsetting other intellectual functions. Alternately, by using an infrasound very low frequency-type transmission, the acoustic psycho-correction message can be transmitted via bone conduction. See article at http://www.heart7.net/mcf/bzapping.htm for more.]

[NOTE 2: It is not the intention of this author to disparage or undermine the belief in genuine spiritual contact. The URANTIA Book, however, warns that "a human being would do better to err in rejecting an Adjuster's 1 expression through believing it to be a purely human experience than to blunder into exalting a reaction of the mortal mind to the sphere of divine dignity" (1208 A, 110:5:5), and that "in scrutinizing mental situations, safety lies only in the prompt recognition of each and every thought and experience for just what it actually and fundamentally is, disregarding entirely what it might have been (1199 C, 109:5:3). The Bible says: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try [test] the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1).

[NOTE 3: Author and former CIA operative, Miles Copland, states that when the CIA’s Special Projects Division makes "connections with international religious groups for the purposes of aiding or supplementing espionage operations (it) is almost as touchy an issue as its association with criminal rings. To start with, Jewish and Catholic organizations are out. ... Organizations stemming from other religions are fair game, however." And he quotes one CIA official as saying that before they "tie into a religious group it’s got to be so offbeat that anyone in the agency who belongs to it may be fired as a security risk."]

TIMELINE

1940s – Sheena Govan and Dorothy Maclean, who will in the following decades help Eileen Caddy start Findhorn (see, 1962), a New Age community in Scotland, are actually working for British Intelligence while ostensibly employed as secretaries at the British Embassy in New York. The two are present there when the OSS (Office of Strategic services, the forerunner of the CIA) was formed in New York with the help of British Intelligence (see, 1942).

– During the 1940s OSS will begin "the first systematic effort to evaluate an individual’s personality in order to predict his future behavior". (John Marks' The Search for the Manchurian candidate: hereinafter, "SEARCH", online at: http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/lsd/marks.htm , a "must read" for readers who know little of the MKULTRA scandal)

1942 – British Intelligence, in New York, helps America set up its own intelligence agency, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS).

c. 1942-1944 – Future URANTIA Book translator, Jacques Weiss, fights with the French Resistance. Thus, he is presumably in contact with the OSS, which during these years was helping the "Free French". Sooner or later Weiss would reportedly claim he followed invisible purported celestials whom he called the "hierarchy" (also see, 1980 and 1962).

1947 – The CIA is created out of the OSS. It begins some preliminary work with drugs, starts a mind-control drug project at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland, and investigates hypnosis.

1950 – CIA's Operation Bluebird Begun. British and Canadian observers are present at its first meeting -- all agree to continue investigating behavior control methods (SEARCH).

Sidney Gottlieb

– Helping to make up Bluebird’s staff are Richard Helms, James Jesus Angelton, and Sidney Gottlieb. They establish liaisons with police departments and criminology labs. They contact hypnotists, physicians, and psychiatrists. They design activities to create an "exploitable alteration of personality".

– The CIA contemplates operational use of hypnosis to control a subject "to the point where he will do our bidding against his will and even against such fundamental laws of nature as self- preservation" (SEARCH).

1950s (early) – Eileen Caddy, later the primary channeler of Findhorn, leaves her five children and her first husband (Andrew Combe, who is both Peter Caddy's Commanding Officer and a member of Moral Rearmament, a religious organization which has been linked to the CIA) for RAF Officer, Peter Caddy (who was at the time married to "former" British Intelligence operative Sheena Govan -- see, 1940s), and it will not be long until Eileen begins to hear a "voice" claiming to be "God". Before it is over she will fill some thirty thousand notebook pages with the "voice's" dictation to her. (See, 1954)

1951 – An internal report describes Bluebird’s purpose as "the specific subject of devising scientific methods for controlling the minds of individuals".

– Bluebird is renamed, "ARTICHOKE". Artichoke’s interests are in electro-psycho-therapeutic techniques (see 1993), and it reportedly began work with supersonic radiations.

– Morse Allan (Bluebird/Artichoke) uses hypnosis on CIA secretaries.

– CIA convinces British and Canadian Intelligence to start their own behavioral research programs.

1952 – North Korean brainwashing (using Chinese techniques) of American POWs is reported. The CIA sends agents to investigate their methods.

[NOTE: Presumably it was around this year as well when Army psychologist, "A Course In Miracles" (ACIM) channeler Helen Schucman's future Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons Psychology Department colleague, and expert hypnotist, Herbert Spiegel (see, 1962 NOTE 3), carried out his own investigation of the brainwashed Korean War POWs for the US Army. He is considered to be one of the earliest American experts in Chinese brainwashing techniques.]

– National Security Agency (NSA) established by Harry Truman .

1953 – MKULTRA begun (officially, it actually got into operation the year before), with Dr. Sidney Gottlieb as its director. Gottlieb later testified before Congress that, MKULTRA’s purpose was "to investigate whether and how it was possible to modify an individual’s behavior by covert means".

– ACIM's William Thetford, U.S. Government psychologist, Washington D.C., consultant to Foreign Service Institute, Beirut, Lebanon.

[NOTE: This was apparently the year that, according to one of Schucman and Thetfords's student-colleagues, Father Benedict Groeshel, Thetford admitted to having been some sort of spy. This disappeared off of the web at about the time that information concerning Thetford's work for MKULTRA appeared there.]

c.1954 – Eileen Caddy, in England, begins to hear “God’s voice”.

– MKULTRA absorbs Project Bluebird/Artichoke. Morse Allen turns a CIA secretary into a sort of “Manchurian Candidate” 1. She, however, is given an unloaded gun with which to "shoot" her victim, and the results are controversial.

1956 – Peter Caddy installs Eileen Caddy with Sheena Govan on the Scottish island of Mull. It is populated largely in the south by Duart Clan Maclean. Sheena subjects Eileen to what appears to be nothing less than a case study of classical (Chinese technique) brainwashing, at least as her experience is later described by Paul Hawken (see, 1962), who interviewed her for his book, The Magic of Findhorn. It includes isolation, sleep deprivation, prolonged maintenance of painful positions, ego-devastating disparagement, etc. Previously to this she had refused to believe that the "voice" she was hearing was actually that of "God", as it had claimed. (By this time, after having returned to and again left her first husband, Eileen has married Peter Caddy. She has also tried to kill herself during another, earlier, less intense apparent attempt at "brainwashing" by Sheena Govan.)

[NOTE 1: I have not so far established a connection between Findhorn's co-founder, Dorothy Maclean (see, 1940s), and the Macleans of southern Mull].

– Future highly placed Teaching Mission (TeaM) channeling supporter, URANTIA Brotherhood Legal Advisor, retired USMC General Duane Faw, (see, 1983 October 6), at this point in his military career a Major, is the Training Depot Legal Officer at Parris Island during the "Ribbon Creek Incident", wherein a highly-rated Drill Instructor (DI) led his charges into dangerous waters causing the drowning death of six recruits.

[NOTE 2: Inasmuch as this incident might have answered questions which the CIA's MKULTRA was presumably asking at this time (see 1950, 1951, and 1953), and that there was a window of opportunity at the base sick bay for the use of hypnotism and mind-control drugs on the DI (he was given a probable hypnotic drug for pain in his leg), some suspicion is justified. Also, according to John C. Stevens III (Court Martial at Parris Island: The Ribbon Creek Incident, © 1999), powerful backstage legal politics arranged for the DI to be defended by a former Air Force Intelligence Officer, Emile Zola Berman, who later likewise defended Sirhan Sirhan, Robert Kennedy's believed hypnotically programmed assassin, who reported hearing "voices" in his head. Please understand that "suspicion" does not constitute certainty. However there are too many inconsistencies and "coincidences" to simply accept the Ribbon Creek story at face value. Speculatively, Major Faw's role as Legal Officer allowed him to keep the investigation away from any sensitive areas, and Berman's role would have been a similar one. Faw seems to have a facility for popping up around CIA activities. In the next decade, he and his unit of combat-ready Marines (Faw transferred from staff to line officer status, he says, to increase his chances for promotion) will be peripherally involved as a possible backup landing force for the CIA's invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs, and later they will be close at hand as an occupation force if needed during the CIA-backed invasion of the Dominican Republic. (See, 1961 and 1965)]

[NOTE 3: "A Course In Miracles" channeler, Helen Schucman's future colleague in the Psychology Department at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, expert hypnotist and brainwasher, Herbert Spiegel, (see, 1952 NOTE) is likewise connected to Sirhan Sirhan. Spiegel accused William Joseph Bryon Jr. – a hypnotist who immediately following the assassination of Robert Kennedy had publicly asserted in the media that Sirhan had been hypnotized to shoot the Presidential candidate – of having himself been the hypnotist. Spiegel based this accusation against Bryon on Spiegel's own esoteric interpretation of a seemingly nonsensical phrase which appeared in Sirhan's "automatic writings". This is sufficient evidence for speculating that it was Spiegel who carried out the actual necessary hypnosis on Schucman, convincing her that what she heard post-hypnotically in her mind was instructions being given by Jesus. It may also be speculated that Spiegel's accusation of Byron was merely a ruse to draw the scent away from himself, and that it was he, Spiegel, who hypnotically turned Sirhan into a Manchurian candidate. Please understand that such speculations only constitute working hypotheses which require further proof.]

1958 – Dr. William Sadler's son, Bill Sadler, acknowledges in an intra-office memo that "a really clever conspiracy could destroy the [URANTIA] Brotherhood or otherwise divert or destroy its mission." This same year he also wrote: "There is no place in the Urantia Foundation for naivete." Both warnings have been largely ignored.

– "A Course in Miracles" channeler (see, 1965), Helen Schucman, goes to work for William Thetford in the Psychology Department at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. (See URANTIAGATE article: Lie Down with Dogs, Get up with Fleas!: The MKULTRA Milieu Surrounding the "Scribing" of A Course In Miracles).

[NOTE: Peter Caddy and William Thetman play almost identical supportive roles in relation to their channelers, respectively, Eileen Caddy and Helen Schucman. Both men appear to be unwavering in their belief in the genuineness of the women's "contacts", both convince the women that what they are hearing is indeed real and encourage them to continue in spite of their doubts. Caddy, however, appears to have carried his "support" over into actual brainwashing, as it was practiced in the post-Korean War era. Peter Caddy had only a known indirect connection with British Intelligence through his wife, Sheena Govan. However while he was in the RAF he did undertake a secret, wartime, intelligence mission to Tibet for his government. On the other hand, William Thetford's secret direct connection to the CIA's mind-control program, MKULTRA, has been exposed by the release of FOIA declassified documents.]

– Project ORION is reputedly begun. It is said to study drugs, hypnosis, electronic brain invasion with radar, microwaves, and extremely low frequencies (ELF) of sound. Leading Edge attributes Orion to USAF, but others say CIA. (see also, 1990, "Elizabeth Y. Fitzhugh")

– Captain Al ("Cappy") Hubbard, whose contacts include the OSS, CIA, and, as evidence would indicate, MKULTRA, writes to Urantia movement leader, Meredith Sprunger, asking for information about The URANTIA Book (see letter at, http://urantiabook.org/archive/history/sprung_1.htm and more about Hubbard at, http://www.maps.org/media/bcflashback.html. Scroll down 10 paragraphs). Sprunger when recently asked could recall no outcome of this event.

Late 1950s – Meredith Sprunger introduces Vern Grimsley, then a high school student, to The URANTIA Book.

[NOTE: I have neither wish nor reason to implicate Sprunger in any of this. The above entry is made simply for its chronological interest in the unfolding of events.]

1960s – CIA-funded investigators discover correlation between EEG (Electroencephalograph) patterns and the ability to remember numbers . (SEARCH).

[NOTE: This is similar to the type of scientific investigation carried out for MKULTRA by Helen Schucman and William Thetford's co-author, David R. Saunders (see, SEARCH, Chapter 10).]

Early 1960s – ORD takes over most of MKULTRA’s mind control research.

c. 1960-1962 – Bert Kaplan, Psychology Professor at the University of Kansas hires Vern Grimsley as an undergraduate research assistant on his National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) grant. NIMH is known to have acted as a conduit, both funding and fronting grants for the CIA's MKULTRA research during this period. (Also see, 1993)

[NOTE 1: The problem is that Kaplan's version of the terms of Vern's employment reportedly differs sharply from what Vern is said to have later told his friends as well as from autobiographical material which he used in his speeches and elsewhere on occasion for years. Grimsley apparently believed that he worked for two years, not the single one which Kaplan reported to Caston, who interviewed him around 1984. Vern reportedly told people he spent a second year in Washington, D.C. managing a Kaplan-overseen grant from the National Science Foundation. Caston attributes the different stories to exaggeration on Vern's part. However he does not appear even to have considered the alternative that Kaplan, or someone connected to him, may have funneled Vern to be used as an unwitting subject in then ongoing MKULTRA investigations, even though the scandal surrounding the MKULTRA exposure had filled the media less than a decade before he wrote his analysis of Vern's experience. He certainly does not include it among his six "Possible Scenarios", but Caston does include "nefarious forces exploiting an overdeveloped ego and plotting to discredit and split the URANTIA movement . . . to abort the mission of The URANTIA Book". Which, of course, may in fact be what this synthetic telepathy phenomenon is all about. (Refs., "Vern Grimsley Message Evaluation", by Hoite Caston, © 1984, hereinafter, "EVALUATION").]

[NOTE 2: I have established no direct connection with any intelligence agency for either Kaplan or the University of Kansas during the year(s) of Vern's employment in the Psychology Department. However the university medical school was possibly the only institution to hold a symposium on the Russian device which is capable of putting the "voice of God" in the head of an unwitting subject (see, 1993 NOTE), and the University of Kansas Psychology Department shows up on a conspiracy theory webpage as having provided disinformation on the subject of programmed false memories (see, http:/www.totse.com/en/politics/central_intelligence_agency/ciaprop1.htm l, scroll down to the alphabetical listing.)]

1960 – Ex-CIA agent, Philip Agee, documents the fact that even as late as this date the "most important liaison operation of the CIA is with MI-6 (British Intelligence). They exchange information and mount joint operations . . . . The inner club includes Canada." (Inside the CIA: CIA Diary, by Philip Agee, hereinafter "INSIDE")

1961 – Bay of Pigs: The failed CIA invasion of Cuba. Future URANTIA Brotherhood Legal Advisor and important Teaching Mission (TeaM) channeling supporter, Duane Faw, the commanding officer of a US Marine landing force, is fully armed and ready for combat in the vicinity of Vieques, a Puerto Rican island used for USMC assault landing training, US Naval bombing practice, etc. Here also the expatriate Cuban frogmen were trained by the CIA for their part in the invasion. Ostensibly Faw's unit was merely rotated by turn into the area in line with standard training procedures, but the operation may have been orchestrated to have his backup available. Even Faw admits that his unit might have been called into action, but this option was abruptly canceled when President Kennedy at the last minute issued orders forbidding all direct US military involvement in the CIA operation.

[NOTE: The suspicion here is that Faw, following the Ribbon Creek incident, represented a known and proven quality who would not balk – as an unproven quality might – at carrying out CIA orders if and when they came. A further supposition is that such a known quality might be persuaded to infiltrate a cult to provide intelligence/security agency support as perhaps a misconceived patriotic duty and for an extra retirement income. (See, 1956, 1965 and 1983 October 6)]

1962 – Helen Schucman and William Thetford co-author a paper on "The personality theory of John Gittinger" (See, http://www.pasf.org/print_bibliog.htm, hereinafter "PAS BIBLIOG"). This was published by the Human Ecology Fund, which has been identified by John Marks as being a MKULTRA front.

[NOTE 1: John W. Gittinger (SEARCH, see http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/lsd/marks.htm Chap. 10) was the primary personality assessor for MKULTRA. He pioneered scientific methods to enable him to identify the most susceptible types of personalities for Dr. Gottlieb's nefarious, amoral, and often harmful U.S. government- sponsored exploitations of innocent human beings, including children (see, MKULTRA Subprojects 102,103, and 117: http://www.nemasys.com/rahome/library/p ... ltra.shtml) Gittinger's MKULTRA research eventually surfaced as his "Personality Assessment System" (PAS), which also both has been studied and used by legitimate scientists for non-exploitive purposes.]

– (Sept.) Helen Schucman and David R. Saunders co-author a paper relating to Gittinger's PAS (see, PAS BIBLIOG).

[NOTE 2: David R. Saunders is mentioned in Chapter 10 of John Marks' book as having carried out secret personality profiling investigations for MKULTRA.]

– (Sept.) Helen Schucman, William Thetford, and David R. Saunders co- author a paper relating to Gittinger's PAS (see, Gittinger Bibliography of References: http:www.pasf.org/print_bibliog.htm. Hereinafter "PAS BIBLIOG").

[NOTE 3: Besides Thetford and Saunders, another of Helen Schucman's Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons Psychology Department "colleagues" around this time was Herbert Spiegel, a recognized expert in hypnotism and brainwashing (see, 1952), who was then teaching courses in hypnosis. During – by his own estimation – "maybe the mid sixties", Spiegal was also associated with the case of "Sybil", a Multiple Personality Disorder victim. Because "Sybil" was so easily hypnotized he was using the woman for demonstration purposes in his classes. Spiegel since that time aligns himself on the "disinformationist" side of the False Memory Syndrome (FMF) controversy, (see, http://www.astraeasweb.net/plural/spiegel.html), as also apparently does the University of Kansas Psychology Department (see, 1960-1962 (circa) NOTE 2), where the URANTIA movement's "WW III" channeler, Vern Grimsley, had been employed.]

[NOTE 4: Schucman appears to be like a mouse caught on a glue trap surrounded by cats. Two of her "colleagues" (one a dear friend) have or will have direct, secret connections to the CIA's mind-control program, MKULTRA. A third "colleague" is an expert hypnotist and brainwasher who is perfectly capable of making unwitting subjects see and hear whatever he wishes. Likely her psychological weaknesses were pinpointed and categorized by Gittinger's PAS, and probably she had been hired for the very reason that she fit the profile of a "hypno-patsy" or a "manchurian channeler". When the backgrounds of her "colleagues" are brought into scrutiny, what took place between 1965 and 1972 at the Columbia University college of Physicians and Surgeons Psychology Department in the so-called "scribing" of A Course In Miracles is so blatent as to almost be overt! Even Eileen Caddy, surrounded as she was by ex-British Intelligence personnel comes in a poor second to Schucman! ]

– Led by Eileen Caddy's "voice", Findhorn is begun in an old house trailer pulled up near the beach on a bleak section of the northern Scottish coast adjacent to Kingloss Royal Air Force Base. Eileen's husband, Peter Caddy, is a former RAF officer and recently the husband of Sheena Govan, who worked for British Intelligence during WW II. The Caddys are accompanied by Dorothy Maclean, who was formerly employed by British Intelligence under Govans' supervision (see, 1940s). Later Govan became something of a recognized spiritual teacher and cult leader with ex-underling Maclean and husband Caddy as, at least, two of her "disciples". She apparently continued to direct Caddy after he had left her bed for that of Eileen's, and she played a direct role in Eileen's earlier "brainwashings" (see, 1956).

[NOTE 5: Author Paul Hawken, who later visited Findhorn, will write in The Magic of Findhorn, about the "thick, vibrant energies" felt in the house trailers and gardens. "Whatever it is, it seems to be the physical stuff of the place. If you walk across the road to the bay, it is not quite there. . . the intense energy field is lacking. Everybody here talked about it, knew about it, referred to it as 'the energies'. It was a 'buzz' which was more felt than heard" (see also, 1979, Ken Cory). No one seems to have thought to ask whether or not the Kingloss RAF Base next door might have been somehow responsible, even though on the base immediately adjacent to Findhorn was a posted secret, fenced-off area protected by guard dogs.]

– Publication of La Cosmogonie D’Urantia, a French translation of The URANTIA Book by Jacques Weiss. (See, 1942-1944 and 1980)

– Martin Myers and Richard Keeler drive to Chicago to meet Dr. Sadler and Christy.

1964 – Vern Grimsley begins his URANTIA Book teaching based radio broadcasts on KFAX in San Francisco. He agrees with the URANTIA Foundation that he will not mention the book by name on the air.

1965 – (June - October) Helen Schucman experiences "a dramatic progression of waking dreams . . . culminating with her experiencing a Voice which speaks clearly in her mind. The Voice, which Helen references with a capital "V", explains to her the visions she has been receiving" (ref., http://www.whitmorelaw.com/time_line.htm).

– Sir George Trevelyan, in England, gathers together "all of the New Age groups under one roof for the first time," with Air Marshall Sir Victor Goddard former chief of British Air Intelligence -- in attendance. Peter Caddy, who was uninvited, "gate crashes" this event to announce the beginning of Findhorn (The Magic of Findhorn).

– Future URANTIA Brotherhood Legal Advisor and important Teaching Mission (TeaM) channeling supporter, Duane Faw, and his combat ready Marine landing force, lay in wait just over the Caribbean horizon from the Dominican Republic. If called by the CIA officers directing the invasion, they are to go ashore to seize and hold the government. The situation, however, developed in such a way that they are not needed. (See, 1956, 1961 and 1983 October 6)

[NOTE: Again, this is an illustration of the high degree of trust placed in Faw by the intelligence/security community.]

1965-1968 – Helen Schucman, with William Thetford's support, "scribes" ("channels" into written form, purportedly directly from Jesus) "A Course In Miracles" (ACIM).

1967 – Family of God Foundation (FOG) established by Vern Grimsley in California.

1968 – MKULTRA's Gittinger and Saunders co-author an article or paper relating to Gittinger's PAS (see, PAS BIBLIOG).

– Martin Myers moves into in the Chicago URANTIA Foundation and Brotherhood headquarters to live there with Dr. Sadler and Christy (whom the Sadlers had "adopted").

– In the beginning many hippies were drawn to Findhorn, who likely could be expected to be familiar with psychotropic drug effects, but around this year, according to Paul Hawken, Peter Caddy began to "verbally thrash" them for "the slightest deviation from the rigid order and structure of the community". Most left. Only those who, as Hawken paraphrases Timothy Leary, "gave up, gave in, and submitted" to the "thick overlay of authority" stayed behind.

[NOTE: Most, if not all, of strange experiences described by Hawken during his own stay – which Findhorners ascribed to spiritual causes – are similar (actually appear to be identical) to the effects of a variety psychotropic drugs (including marijuana and MDA, or "love drug"). This same similarity is also apparent in the earlier purported religious experiences of selected Findhorners, such as Robert O. ("Roc") Crombie, who had several LSD-type experiences which he believed included a genuine visitation by the "horned god Pan". Caddy and others supported this illusion as being reality. At least 25 MKULTRA Subprojects concern drugs or botanicals]

1969-1970 – Recent Yale graduate and future URANTIA Foundation trustee, Neal Waldrop, is employed and trained by the National Security Agency (NSA), then and possibly still America's most secret spy shop.

– The CIA accomplishes brain-computer link-up. The process unscrambles an individual’s brainwaves, deciphers and records them, and injects them into another subject. (http://www.trufax.org/welcomemsie.html: Hereinafter "LEADING EDGE")

[NOTE: The labels "brainwashing victims" and "Manchurian candidates" will evolve through "hypno-patsies" to, currently, mental or emotional "clones". The development of this particular technology during the past three decades may account for this change. It is believed that secret technology also presently allows for direct wireless access to an unwitting subject's visual cortex both for inputting and downloading of realtime awake and dreaming field of vision data. The idea that other areas of the brain can be equally accessed should not be dismissed.]

1969-1971 – Helen Schucman, with William Thetford's support, "scribes" ("channels" into written form, purportedly directly from Jesus) the ACIM "Workbook"

1970 – Future URANTIA Foundation trustee, NSA-trained Neal Waldrop enters the U.S. Navy, attends Officer Candidate School.

[NOTE: Phillip Agee described his own experience in becoming a CIA officer with a military cover. After being inducted into the agency, he was hired as a civilian by an "Air Force cover unit". A few weeks later he enlisted in the Air Force. "While in the Air Force," he wrote, "I will be treated like any other enlisted man. . . . Keeping the secret will be a part of my training -- learning to live my cover." (INSIDE)]

– Rand Corporation publishes a report entitled, "A Direct Mechanism for the Direct Influence of Microwave Radiation on Neuroelectric Function", by R.J. MacGregor. He "notes that power densities of close to 1000,000mw/cm2 can produce auditory hallucinations in a field that would be averaged as low intensity and non-thermal." (LEADING EDGE)

1971 – Harry McMullan makes initial contact for Vern Grimsley’s Family of God Foundation (FOG) with Radio Free Europe (RFE) while in New York. RFE at this time is a "proprietary arm of the CIA" (Mark Lane). Congress will later force the CIA's disassociation from RFE.

– One month after this possible CIA involvement began, Vern Grimsley visits Bert Kaplan (see, 1960-1962), who was by then teaching at a college in California.

-- The CIA's Radio Free Europe dispatches a questionnaire to be filled out by all FOG members. Later RFE produces and airs a half-hour documentary about Vern and FOG ostensibly based on the group's answers.

[NOTE 1: It is not impossible that this questionnaire also was to be used for creating Gittinger-style psychological profiles of the members. The FOG Diary describes it as a "list of questions dealing with the religious beliefs, and principal religious doubts, of America's young people, the mission and future plans of the Family of God Foundation, together with a request for background information on 'what led you (VBG) and your associates into this work?'" (quoted in EVALUATION, p. 129). Generic, unanswerable questions about "America's young people" would tend to open a Rorschach-like window into the subconscious mind of the individuals answering them rather than to elicit real facts, which the testees could not be expected to know.]

– The printing plates for The URANTIA Book are destroyed after the second printing by the URANTIA Foundation, thus severing the last physical link between the published work and the original "Papers", and thereby erasing a benchmark for future scholars and translators.

– Eileen Caddy’s "voice" is discontinued. She will remain at Findhorn.

[NOTE 2: Peter Caddy (after divorcing Eileen) will tour the international New Age scene, propounding the "spirit" of Findhorn and group consciousness until he is killed in a car wreck. Dorothy Maclean (ex-British Intelligence), along with a few more Findhorners, will start the Lorian Association in California. Sheena Govan, after having suffered from "cluster headaches" for much of her adult life, has died. It is worth noting in this context that in the early 1960s ultrasonic experiments on 225 Fort Ord soldiers produced brain lesions.

– General Duane Faw retires from the Marine Corps (see, 1961, 1956, 1965 and 1983 October 6).

1971 - 1978 – MKULTRA's David J. Saunders and ACIM's William Thetford together secretly contract to the CIA's MKULTRA to do personality theory research (see, http://www.nemasys.com/rahome/library/p ... ltra.shtml, Subproject: MKULTRA 130).

1972 – Helen Schucman, with William Thetford's support, "channels" ACIM "Manual."

– The U.S. Army publishes a study entitled: "Controlled Offensive Behavior: USSR" which concerns itself with targeting individuals with "mind altering techniques" and "the total submission of one’s will to some outside force." The study involved the use of pulsed microwaves. (LEADING EDGE. See also, 1993)

Helms

1973 – Dr. Sidney Gottlieb and Richard Helms order the destruction of most of MKULTRA's records. Many, however, apparently overlooked, will later be found intact, declassified, and subsequently released to John Marks (1,600 pages of documents) and others as a result of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

[NOTE: In 1977 John Marks will make a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for ORD files on "behavior research related to bio-electrics, electric or radio stimulation of the brain, electronic destruction of memory, stereotoxic surgery, psychosurgery, hypnotism, parapsychology, radiation, microwaves, and ultrasonics". The CIA reports back as having 130 cubic feet of material expected to contain pertinent documents. Marks regretted that he could not afford to obtain them.]

1974 – "J.F. Schapitz proposes a project, later funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, showing how the spoken word of a hypnotist may be conveyed by modulated electromagnetic energy directly into subconscious parts of the brain. The subject cannot consciously control the information input." A monograph entitled "Psychotronics in Engineering" published by the Joint Publications Research Service in Arlington, VA. repeats Schapitz’s claim, adding that "voices would program the subconscious mind without employing any technical devices for receiving or transcoding the messages ... "[emphasis added] (LEADING EDGE. Also see, 1993).

– An Army Medical and Information Agency document, entitled, "Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation" discusses, among other things, the induction of voices inside the brain by use of signal modulation at very low power densities. (LEADING EDGE)

– The author of "Microwave Auditory Effects and Applications", Dr. James Lin, notes that "the capacity of communicating directly with humans by pulsed microwaves is obviously not limited to the field of therapeutic medicine." (LEADING EDGE)

– Future URANTIA Foundation trustee, Neal Waldrop, becomes a URANTIA Book reader while serving in the U.S. Navy in Washington, D.C.. Each of his duty stations have the word "communications 3" in their name.

[NOTE 1: The NSA's primary mission is to monitor and analyze "communications".]

[NOTE 2: Ex-CIA operative, Phillip Agee describes two methods by which the CIA puts agents where they want them. Sometimes they will recruit leaders of groups they want to infiltrate. And the other way of penetrating, he says, is to have an agent join and then work his way up from the bottom. (INSIDE)]

– USMC Brigadier General (Ret.) and Pepperdine University Law Professor, Duane Faw, makes his initial contact with the URANTIA Foundation. He will associate himself with Vern Grimsley's cult-like organization, the Family of God Foundation (FOG), and shortly be given the position of Chairman of the URANTIA Brotherhood's Legal Committee. Faw will become the chief "inner circle" supporter of Teaching Mission channeling and "stillness practice", both of which appear to be contra-indicated in The URANTIA Book! (See, 1099 D, 100:5:8 through 11)

– Paul Snider, for the URANTIA Brotherhood and as its President, signs the Foundation's "Confirmatory Agreement," essentially a lie which denied that the registered trademark "Urantia" had been in general use up to that time, ceding all rights to it (and to the three azure concentric circles) to the Foundation. The Foundation later used this to "disenfranchise" the Brotherhood in 1989. Without this agreement it would have had no grounds to do so.

[NOTE: This "Confirmatory Agreement" was so hypocritical and dishonest that a number of Urantia Brotherhood Societies refused to become signatories to it, so "Licensing Agreement" governing each Society's use was then drawn up and signed by each of them.

The Brotherhood's General Council reported to its membership in 1989 -- just a month and a half before the Foundation "formally terminat[ed] the Confirmatory Licensing Agreement" and evicted the Brotherhood from their shared office space -- that in retrospect there were four "perhaps unintended" (my emphasis) effects to the 1974 signing:

1. "It partially defeated the initial founding effort to separate the work into two automous orgizational entities".

2. "It caused the URANTIA Foundation to believe it had veto power over Brotherhood activities".

3. It "seemed intended to sever the inherent organizational integrity of URANTIA Brotherhood".

4. "It set up an almost inevitable conflict between" the official, organizational use of the name "Urantia" and its "also valid use" as a symbol with spiritual meaning by readers of The URANTIA Book ", Sept. 16-17, 1989).

The split between the two Urantia movement organizations can be seen as having its roots and beginning in this document.]

1975 – A version of Vern Grimsley's radio program is being carried on 874 outlets of Armed Forces Radio Network (AFRN), including 572 onboard Navy ships. Each station is indicated by a destroyer on the FOG map. AFRN is known at times to have loaned its facilities to the CIA. (Mark Lane). Vern's complete program is being heard in all 50 states and in a number of foreign countries, as well. FOG claimed a grand total of "more than 1,000 stations around the world" and "over 100 million listeners", figures which are disputed by Caston.

– (April) Future URANTIA Foundation trustee, Neal Waldrop, is admitted to URANTIA Brotherhood as a member-at-large.

– Carolyn Kendall, a former Forum member (joined in 1951) and Urantia movement leader, believes that the URANTIA Brotherhood was diverted this year from its primary role of fostering serious and systematic study, to marketing The URANTIA Book, the "endless reassessment of its [organizational] purpose," and the "fine tuning of its organization". (Ref., "The Plan for The URANTIA Book Revelation", by Carolyn B. Kendall, April,1996)

[NOTE: I myself see no direct revelence to this issue in this, and Kendall dismisses the idea that it may have been conspiratorial (however, she does not appear to have been considering a governmental conspiracy). I have included it since it shows a general trend. Also, I have yet to learn General Faw's role here, if any, which may alter the entry's significance.]

1976 – Neal Waldrop is sworn in as a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Department of State (which is well-known to provide cover for CIA and NSA operatives).

– Emma “Christy” Christensen tells then URANTIA Brotherhood President John Hales that Vern Grimsley is a member of the Reserve Corps of Destiny 3. Many believe that "voices" which she heard told her this.

1977-1979 – Future URANTIA Foundation trustee, Neal Waldrop, co- hosts the Washington, D.C. study group.

1978 – Secret journals purportedly prepared by Dr. Sadler and kept in a locked file cabinet until this year unexplainedly disappeared, as Urantia movement member Barbara Newsom was prepared to testify under oath. [ ref. TENTH CIRCUIT MICHAEL FOUNDATION, INC., a foreign corporation, Plaintiff - Appellee, v. URANTIA FOUNDATION, an Illinois Charitable Trust, Defendant - Third-Party Plaintiff - Appellant, v. HARRY MCMULLAN, III, Third-Party Defendant - Appellee: No. 01-6347 and 01-6348 (D. Ct. No. CIV-00-885-W) (W.D. Okla.):ORDER AND JUDGMENT; II.4B.¶2 ]

– Jonestown mass "suicide". This followed the assassination nearby of Congressman Leo Ryan by followers of Jim Jones. Ryan was at that time investigating what he called "CIA cults". The investigation apparently ceased with the Congressman's death.

[NOTE 1: Author, Michael Meiers, will later claim in his exhaustively researched book, Was Jonestown a CIA Medical Experiment? A Review of the Evidence, that Jonestown was a field test of mind control drugs on African Americans and Native Americans -- two racial distinctions which made up the majority of Jones’ followers.]

[NOTE 2: Jones is said to have once told a reporter for the Black Panther newspaper that all of his thoughts came from the CIA (Mark Lane).]

1978-1979 – Future URANTIA Foundation trustee, Neal Waldrop, is the chief organizer, master of ceremonies, and a speaker at the First through Third Mid-Atlantic Conferences of Urantia Book readers.

[NOTE: The apparent chronological inconsistency above (three annual events in two years) appears in Waldrop's "URANTIA Brotherhood Background" which he submitted in a cover letter to his, "Do We Live in the Shadow of Nuclear Annihilation?" (see, 1983 November 14).]

1979 – Ken Cory, whose channelings became the book Starseed Transmissions writes that while channeling he hears "a low humming, an energy field" (see, 1974, also, 1962 NOTE 4). The messages he receives, he says, "came first in non-verbal form on waves or pulsations that carried the concise symbolic content of what I term ‘meta-conceptual information’" (quoted in Jon Klimo's book, Channeling) This last appears possibly to be similar or identical to the channeling experience of Helen Schucman and Teaching Mission (TeaM) "transmitter/receivers", whose "voices", while dictating, are described as being just at the audible/sub-audible threshold.

1979-1989

– Soviet Union war in Afghanistan: During this time the Russians reputedly used then-secret equipment employing inaudible transmissions that can convince individuals that they are hearing the voice of God inside their heads (see, 1993, the year knowledge of it surfaced in the media). The possibility that some of this technology fell into the hands of CIA-trained and supplied Afghanistani fighters, such as Osama bin Laden, and into the hands of the CIA itself cannot be discounted. The use of this equipment could explain the seeming mass-production of ("mentally cloned"?) "fanatic" terrorist suicide bombers. The probability that the U.S. intelligence/security community had itself developed similar, parallel technology, as indicated in this timeline primarily by Leading Edge and John Marks references, should neither be confused with this Russian technology nor be quickly dismissed.

1980 – Emma "Christy" Christensen receives an apparently audible "message" from "unseen friends", who are believed to be the same Revelatory Commission of supernal beings who created The URANTIA Book. She reportedly informed several people of this occurrence. Thomas Kendall credits the solution of the "French situation" to the credence given to this message.

[NOTE: The "French situation" concerned the first French language translation of The URANTIA Book, entitled, La Cosmogonie d'Urantia, which was made by Jacques Wiess, (see, 1942-1944 and 1962). Wiess was sued by the URANTIA Foundation in 1974 for copyright violation, and his book went into underground, pirated publication.]

1982 – Emma "Christy" Christensen dies.

– Two months after Christy's death, Neal Waldrop submits to the URANTIA Foundation "a detailed Project Outline for a [Mandarin] Chinese Translation of The URANTIA Book, together with a draft Chinese Translation of the Foreword and Paper 1". (EVALUATION)

[NOTE 1: A URANTIA Book reader reports that sometime around this year Waldrop expressed his anger that the Foundation ignored his translation project. Waldrop also reportedly told that same individual then that some unnamed US intelligence/security agency had previously been involved in the Urantia movement, but that it no longer was at that time. If Waldrop's reference was to CIA (MKULTRA or ORD) activity, it would likely have been disseminated only on a need-to-know basis. The fact that Waldrop was privy to that information hardly closes the door to the idea of subsequent or simultaneous NSA involvement (he could hardly be expected to admit or allude to his own undercover mission, if any -- indeed, those readers who know Waldrop cannot picture him as an intelligence operative, a fact which is necessarily the mark of successful undercover work). If this hearsay is factual (and I have no reason to doubt the reader's veracity) it would appear that the NSA may have won a bureaucratic turf war against the CIA. It might be observed that a revelation such as The URANTIA Book, transmitted by extra-terrestrial, ("alien") supernal beings undoubtedly constitutes "communications". This "communications" aspect places the Urantia movement in a distinctly different category from ACIM, Findhorn, Jim Jones' People's Temple, or David Koresh's Branch Davidians. The Urantia Papers had been received in 1934-1935, several decades before intelligence/security community interest in developing synthetic telepathy began. Therefore it could not have been the product of "synthetic telepathy". It would appear, then, that beginning sometime around 1974-1975 (when NSA-trained future URANTIA Foundation trustee, Neal Waldrop, became a URANTIA Book reader and was admitted into the URANTIA Brotherhood as a member-at-large), in cultic activity where there are no purported intra-cerebral "communications" other than those likely induced by "synthetic telepathy" – TeaM, ACIM, Jim Jones' People's Temple, and David Koresh's Branch Davidians – the CIA is in charge, but where the prospect of actual "alien" communications exist – the Urantia Papers and UFOs – then the NSA has jurisdiction. How fine this dividing-line is drawn and exactly where it is placed is known only by the intelligence/security community itself.]

[NOTE 2: I would like to point out the absurdity of trying to present the fifth epochal revelation (The Urantia Book) to the Asian world in a translation sponsored by, or in any way connected to, either the U.S. State Department or the NSA! It is bad enough that the first Asian-language translation is in Korean, the nation in the eastern hemisphere in which there is probably the highest concentration of U.S. Intelligence/Security presence, whose own intelligence agency, the KCIA, was started with CIA help and which likely still maintains CIA ties. The U.S. Congress actually found connections between the KCIA and cult activity in the United States (the Sun Myung Moon organization). And one of the present URANTIA Foundation trustees (who reputedly made the translation) happens to be a naturalized American South Korean. Dr. E. Kwan Choi, a Profesor of Economics at Iowa State University, was elected trustee in March, 1997 . None of this may be expected to encourage Asians to accept the revelation. One must wonder if there is a plan to keep the revelation from widespread acceptance in Asia! Kwan is presently (2002) suing the other URANTIA Foundation trustees for alleged organizational, including financial, improprieties.(See also, 1958)]

– Six months after Christy’s death, Vern Grimsley, "awoke one morning with a strong feeling that he must buy a new property for his organization, the Family of God (F.O.G.). He developed a picture in his mind of what it should entail and encompass." (EVALUATION).

– The following month, while viewing the vacated St. Anthony's College campus, which was being shown to him by a Realtor, Vern heard an audible "voice" from no apparent source telling him, "This is it!"

– Before the end of the year Vern bought his new "Spiritual Renaissance Institute" at Clayton, California for $4 million. Its was situated four miles from the Concord Naval Weapons Station and partially surrounded by a dozen other strategic installations with varying importance as possible targets, including two Naval shipyards (one for nuclear subs), two military air bases and an international airport, a Naval fuel depot, a Naval supply center, and Livermore Nuclear Research Laboratory -- all at distances from fifteen to twenty eight miles from Vern's soon-to-be purported holocaust survival headquarters (see, 1983 October 6).

– Many Urantia movement people believe Christy's "mantle" as de facto leader of the Urantia movement had been passed to Vern.

[NOTE 3: In 1969 when Dr. William Sadler died, his last words spoke of passing the "torch" to Christy who would then pass it to younger members.]

1983 – Vern Grimsley has "over 100 ‘contacts’". He would emerge from sessions "in a very tired and worn state". Vern said that his messages came, "even when I am asleep" (EVALUATION).

– (October 6) Vern’s "voices" tell him to prepare to survive a nuclear exchange (WW III). They then began to develop survival strategies (including – in answer to a question put directly to them – that if necessary attackers storming F.O.G. fallout shelters could be shot!). Accordingly, Vern surrounded the new compound with chain link fence, and F.O.G. began stockpiling arms. Combat veteran, Brigadier General Duane Faw (USMC Retired), a URANTIA Brotherhood official who would soon become the primary inner circle leadership supporter of TeaM channeling (see, 1985), actually gave advice to FOG on military defense procedures, reportedly including such things as "fields of fire". Faw demurs that he never expected FOG's all-out military response to his suggestions. However, the purported celestials spoke to Vern in words which sound more like those of a Marine Corps General than of the seraphim or midwayers recorded in The URANTIA Book. They told him that "the institute in Clayton is projected to be in the top ten percent of functional, slash, protectable locations given current data" (EVALUATION). Ironically, after surviving the holocaust, Vern was expected to carry on broadcasting the light of truth from his radio transmitter tower on top of nearby Mt. Diablo (Devil Mountain)! This area was once reputedly the home of the Devil, who reputedly made appearances to people in the days before California became a state.

[NOTE 1: While I could find no direct ties between General Faw and the U.S. Intelligence/Security community (beyond his having been assigned as a Matine Corps legal officer to the Judge Advocate General Corps), Faw had the habit of popping up near actual or possible CIA projects (see, 1956, 1961, and 1965).]

-- It was around this point in time that part of the Urantia movement’s inner circle deserted Vern and/or turned against him. The "official", or "organized" Urantia movement would become divided precisely along the pro/con "messages" fault-line. Continuing support of Vern would later be used as the excuse for disenfranchising the URANTIA Brotherhood (see, 1989 October 30), and Thomas Kendall would be suddenly removed both from his position as URANTIA Foundation President and trustee ostensibly because of his support for Vern.

– (November 14) Neal Waldrop submits reasons to the URANTIA Brotherhood why he believes it is impossible that the USA could then be living "In The Shadow of Nuclear Annihilation", thus professionally 5 refuting the message given to Vern by purported celestials. There followed, according to one reader, "a well-neigh general rejection of the ‘messages’ and an overwhelming flow of criticisms" leveled against Vern (ref., Emmanuel DeSurvire, quoted in EVALUATION).

– The week following Waldrop's submission, Vern’s "unseen friends" told Vern, "We won!" – possibly their very last message to him, or the last one about WW III. Vern has remained silent on the issue. It was, at least, the last message he forwarded to any "official" Urantia movement organizations. Rumor has it, however, that Vern is still hearing the "voices" of purported celestials.

– Many FOG members, including Richard Keeler (on Nov. 20), and Harry McMullan (before Oct. 27), abandon Vern's group. FOG (reportedly) eventually will go bankrupt, defaulting on its loan for the Clayton site. Vern's influence as an effective movement leader with a wide following from this point forward is curtailed. Christy's mantle, if Vern had ever indeed worn it, was snatched quickly from his shoulders.

[NOTE 2: It may be speculated that if Vern was an unwitting CIA (MKULTRA/ORD) subject, the withdrawal of its influence from the Urantia movement could have allowed for the "sacrifice" of Vern as a red herring and stepping stone for putting an NSA operative into a leadership position. In any event, the "voices" eliminated the widely acknowledged major contender, the "voices" caused the movement to be divided over the issue of belief in them (see for instance, "Special report to the Readers of The URANTIA Book: URANTIA Foundation Ends Its Relationship With The Former URANTIA Brotherhood", by URANTIA Foundation, April 1990, p. 15 and p. 19-3), and afterwards "NSA Neal" Waldrop was put into the catbird seat (see, 1989).]

1984-1989 – The climate at Foundation headquarters reportedly continues to deteriorate.

1985 (circa) – What will become the first Teaching Mission group (see, 1989) begins as a small channeling group in New Zealand (see, http://www.winged-horse.com/archives/time.htm), where one of the NSA's largest facilities is located.

1986 – Hoite Caston is made a trustee of the URANTIA Foundation.

– First Spanish language translation of The URANTIA Book. It contains serious flaws, and is reputedly distorted in meaning.

1989 – The entire Executive Committee of the URANTIA Brotherhood are signatories to a letter to the Foundation trustees referring to Martin Myers' "questionable and secretive use of 'instructions' or 'mandates' supposedly given [by supernal beings] in confidence to our predecessors" (but see, 1990 Helena Sprague letter).

[NOTE 1: These "mandates" were received over the years as physically materialized writings and each contained an instruction at the bottom that it was to be destroyed by fire no later than the publication date of The URANTIA Book. Reportedly, however, Dr. Sadler and Christy were given permission to retain some beyond that date which were destroyed immediately upon the death of Christy. On the other hand, copies of the "mandates" made by Forum members were reportedly extant after that year. These might constitute a body of "secret communications" worthy of NSA interest.]

– (July through October) Three URANTIA Foundation Trustees and several staff members resign in reaction against Martin Myers’ actions and policies.

[NOTE 2: The question has never been answered whether these trustees and staff members might have been influenced by synthetic telepathy. The fact is that at least one 533 Diversey Parkway, Foundation/Brotherhood part-time office worker reports having herself heard "voices" in her head which she continues to the day of this writing to believe were genuinely supernal in origin. These, she says, supported Vern Grimsley's "messages" and directed her into performing certain undisclosed activities which she describes as being seemingly mundane, but which she maintains nevertheless were purported to her as being necessary to help ward off the nuclear holocaust (WW III). She alludes to having knowledge of others like herself who heard similar "voices", and there were also rumors of "voices" being heard in that same time-frame in Hawaii by URANTIA Book readers there. (Also see, 1990 "Helena Sprague" letter)]

– The new URANTIA Foundation Board of Trustees at this time consists of three of Vern Grimsley's college fraternity brothers: Foundation President Martin Myers, Hoite Caston and Richard Keeler (as of July). Also on the board are Patricia Sadler Mundelius (who, of course, bears the honored Sadler name), and Neal Waldrop (as of August), a Foreign Service Officer with a NSA background..

– (October 1) Martin Myers quits his upper managerial bank job and assumes full-time URANTIA Foundation Executive Directorship.

– (October 30) URANTIA Foundation Trustees formally disenfranchise the URANTIA Brotherhood and evict it from their shared headquarters at 533 Diversey Parkway, Chicago. (See, 1983)

– A New Zealand channeling group (four members) is introduced to The URANTIA Book by a channeled purported celestial named, "Abraham", self- identified as being the same Abraham who is the Biblical "father of the Jewish race". This is the beginning of TeaM as such. After this, members of the group reportedly took TeaM to URANTIA Book-oriented internet listserves, newsgroups, and web- forums – as well as to URANTIA Book study groups – where they carried on a process of recruitment. The goal, according to one purported celestial, was to create at least one or two channelers in every study group. (See also, 1985)

1990 – Then-recently-resigned, former URANTIA Foundation Trustee Helena Sprague writes that "Martin [Myers] has been heard, with several present, to bestow approval of the midwayers on one individual and to tell another, 'The midwayers are not pleased with you . . . you are in league with Lucifer.'" This leaves one with the distinct impression that Myers also may have heard "voices" and believed himself to have been in direct contact with purported celestials. It is therefore possible that his guidance was not limited to extant copies of previously materialized "mandates" or "instructions" (see, 1989 "Executive Committee" letter).

[NOTE: Many accused Myers of having a "chosen person" attitude. Speculatively something of the sort might be expected to have developed if intra-cerebral voices, claiming to be midwayers, had told Myers that Christy's "torch" or "mantel" of Urantia movement leadership had been passed to him instead of to Vern Grimsley. (See, 1982 NOTE 3)]

– Elizabeth Y. Fitzhugh's ad appears in some New Age newspapers promoting her channeling of a purported entity named "ORION" (she uses the upper case -- this is the same name as what is believed to be a MKULTRA, ORD, or U.S. Naval Intelligence program which includes, among other things, "electronic brain invasion" (see, 1958). One of the ad's two favorable blurbs says:

"I found . . . that I could listen to the ORION spokesperson as though I were listening to music or observing a natural scene. . . . I became totally absorbed by the utter beauty of the voice and the language."

It is signed, "S.G., Boston, VA". The only listing in the telephone directory for the Boston area in 1990 conforming to those initials is Sidney Gottlieb, known to be the then retired former director of MKULTRA. Boston is a small, U.S. postal rural delivery area connected to a combination post office and general store. Gottlieb's retirement location there is well documented.

1991 – A URANTIA Book study group member in Woods Cross, Utah begins channeling a purported celestial named "Ham". This becomes the second TeaM group, and the first to appear in the United States. For a number of years thereafter the procedure for a study group to obtain a "teacher" to channel was that they must first telephone their request to the Woods Cross channeler, who would forward it on to the purported celestial during a "contact". It is now presumably just as possible for the massive email and telephone monitoring programs currently being run by NSA and its data-sharing partner nations to flag any interest voiced in these communications mediums by persons desiring "personal" or group "teachers" ("purported celestials" who are believed to communicate intra-intellect) as it is for them to flag the words "cocaine" or "bomb". It should be noted that not all who desire these "teachers" get them.

[NOTE 1: Although I have found no direct connection between the Woods Cross group and either the CIA or the NSA, Utah is the center of Mormonism, and Mormons have long been especially sought out for recruitment into the U.S. Intelligence/Security community. It may be speculated that widespread support for secret intelligence projects might be found within that state.]

[NOTE 2: TeaM has not to this date subjected itself to any testing procedures such as those to which Dr. Sadler subjected the physically materialized text (as well as the channeling-like activities which preceded it). Neither has TeaM so far attempted to correlate the reception of intra-cerebral "teachers" to previous open expressions of a desire for the same on electronic communications media. If TeaM wants to behave responsibly and to find anything approaching mainstream acceptance in the Urantia Book reader community, it needs to rule out synthetic telepathy as well as ordinary psychological delusion as providing the platform for its purported celestial "teachers". Also the finding of MKULTRA fingerprints all over "A Course In Miracles" demands that its antecedents be thoroughly investigated as well!]

1991-1992 – A manuscript copy of this writer's, "URANTIAGATE: The Conspiracy Theory", consisting of much that appears here, is mailed to the URANTIA Foundation at its headquarters office, to each individual Foundation Trustee, and to other movement leaders.

1992 – Martin Myers is dismissed as a URANTIA Foundation Trustee. He will be successfully sued to relinquish his position as President.

– Neal Waldrop resigns as Trustee, and is reportedly transferred by the U.S. State Department to Australia and New Zealand.

1993 – Revised Spanish language translation is published. It has flaws of its own and continues many of the 1986 version's problems.

– U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms officers and David Koresh's Branch Davidians exchange gunfire at the Davidian compound outside of Waco, Texas. This precipitates a 51-day FBI siege which ends in a conflagration that gutted the building which the cult was defending and left Koresh, who followed a "voice"

Methinks you are mixing up the Unarius Foundation with Urantia. Not the same thing at all, FWIW...

Thanks for the heads up, Poztron!
To paraphrase the Firesign Theatre, I seem to have my saucer cults scrambled...

Anyway, let's give credit where credit is due. Here is something on the Unarius Society. Not sure if there is anything nefarious afoot here, beyond irrationality and group-based delusion. However these would be fertile fields for spooks to till and sow...

...THE GROWTH OF UNARIAN PROPHECY

Until her death in 1993, Ruth Norman, also known as the Archangel Uriel, led the group of approximately forty-five committed local members (Tumminia and Kirkpatrick 1995). Her prediction of a landing of thirty-three space ships provides an excellent case study of prophecy and collective interpretation. The circumstances surrounding Uriel's prophecy rest buried in collective memories and haphazard documentation. Since they took place long before my study began, I reconstructed them from Unarian documents (edited films and books), files (local newspaper articles, scrapbooks, organizational newsletters, leaflets, meeting transcripts, and photographs), and interviews. The fragmented and nonsequential documentation made it difficult to tell the exact time order of events surrounding the prophecy. Similarly, Unarians do not remember it well, either by design, or as a consequence of the time elapsed.

One thing was apparent, even from jumbled accounts. The grand Unarian "prophecy" took shape over a large time span, not as a distinct event. A cumulative product of several waves of interpretive activity, the prophecy was not a singular act, but the outgrowth of a multiplicity of improvised stories and unfulfilled predictions. The prophetic anticipation commenced after the death of Ernest Norman, founder of the group (Tumminia and Kirkpartrick 1995). Unlike her husband, Ruth Norman loved the spotlight and the attention she could obtain from constructing a public image. Followers of Unarius are called students. Two in particular, Antares and Cosmon, helped her embellish her persona as the local space goddess, Uriel (Kirkpatrick and Tumminia 1992).

After 1972, Ruth/Uriel rapidly increased the number of channeled messages from outer space. The transcriptions of these "transmissions" were published in the Unarian book series, Tesla speaks. This series of thirteen volumes provides some record of the waves of interpretive themes coursing through the community. The seventh volume, entitled Countdown to the spacefleet landing (Norman 1974), contains a "revelation" from outer space dated 17 March 1974. In it, Uriel learns that a "spacefleet landing shall be instituted mainly to inform the earth people of this great Intergalactic Confederation Project now being formulated . . ." (1974:177). On page three, a passage states that the landing will take place before December, 1974. In subsequent years, this passage was concealed by a strip of paper which was pasted over it. Evidently, Unarius first predicted an arrival in 1974. According to the text, the Space Brothers were trying to quell the fears of earthlings, thus they postponed the landing. By the next year, Uriel would come up with an exact date, 27 September 1975. The great starships would touch down in the mountains on the landing site purchased for them by Uriel.

Expectation and Disconfirmation

During the early part of September, 1975, Uriel was prompted by a strong feeling that the landing would occur any day (Norman 1985a). Pressured by inner urgings, she announced the specific day of the month. As anticipation started to increase, Unarians made plans for the arrival of the massive ships. At the Center, one thousand engraved invitations were ordered, as was a large banner for the front of the building, which read, "Greetings, Space Brothers!! Love and Peace!!"

Antares, under Uriel's direction, ordered several charter buses for the event. Antares did what he was told, although he had a sense of deep foreboding. He scheduled a fleet of buses, which would run relays from the Academy, so that all those who wanted to greet the Brothers could be taken to the landing site. As preparation continued, Antares had the road to the property widened and a fence constructed to keep out unauthorized seekers. Amidst the excited activity and frenzied anticipation, Antares tried to contain his growing fear that thousands of people would come to view the spaceships. Privately he told Uriel that surely she must make contact with the government, and arrange for the National Guard for the safety of all concerned.

But Uriel was somewhat oblivious to Antares for she was in a heightened state of ecstasy, "psychically seeing many of the scenes that were going to take place" (Norman 1985a: 279). She said that when the Space Brothers landed, they would present her with a crown. For this occasion, she had her dressmaker fashion a gown fit for an interplanetary coronation. Other gowns were also hurriedly ordered as the Brothers would surely take her on a world tour.

As Uriel saw the future events unfold in her mind, she described the scene to her students. A luxurious stateroom was being prepared for her on a flying saucer. In its enormous closet, she would put the lovely clothes she had purchased for the trip. Uriel went on extra shopping trips during that time to purchase more trunks and suitcases. Her plans were to move into a spacecraft with style. On the expected worldwide peace mission, she and the Brothers would greet many heads of state. Off they would fly to England, France, and Germany, subsequently they would visit the Soviet Union, China, and Japan. After their world tour, Uriel and the Space Brothers would proceed to contact the President of the United States.

On the home front, Uriel made arrangements to give away her worldly goods. Uriel wrote farewell notes to her dear students. She began the process of incorporating Unarius as a non-profit educational foundation. To Antares, Uriel gave her Space Cadillac with a model of a flying saucer attached to the roof. She began signing over her bank accounts and property to Unarius. As the hour grew near, Uriel gave her farewell speech to her closest students at the dining table in her home. Then later at the Center, she said goodbye to fifty students who softly wept at the thought of her leaving.

According to the Unarian version of what happened next, "Finally on Monday, the 22nd, the great psychic bubble exploded" (Norman 1985a: 231)! Cosmon, Uriel's close student and fellow channeller, called her from Los Angeles. Cautiously Cosmon told Uriel that he was in tune with the Brothers who wanted her to know that she was not going through a real event. Instead she was experiencing her life as Isis, Queen of Egypt, some 14,000 years ago. In that lifetime, Isis and her husband Osiris (Ernest Norman) rushed toward the landing site of a spaceship that had come to take them home. As they arrived, they were set upon and murdered by a crowd of people. The Brothers hovered aloft in their saucer unable to stop the attack. The very murderers had now reincarnated as Unarian students.

The "reliving" started to spread throughout the community, first by word of mouth, then during the Center's night classes. According to testimonials, the students were experiencing considerable stress. They had come to believe that Uriel was leaving them. At the same time, they were prepared to meet the Space Brothers, the extraterrestrial architects of the New Age. Now it was clear that the Space Brothers were not coming for Uriel was still there among them.

Reaffirmation

They had come face to face not with a Space Brother, but with the issue of Uriel's credibility. Would they abandon their student roles because of the disconfirmation of the prophecy? Many had doubts about continuing in Unarius. A few students left immediately, while most struggled with their consciences, now that they heard they were reincarnated murderers. Students Sanosun and Helen reported in class that their bodies ached all over; they experienced terrible physical pains (Norman 1985a). Crystal, another student, gave this testimonial in class.

. . . I got all mixed up and I thought 'Gee, maybe this means that some of the Science isn't true,' but then I thought, 'How can that be? This is ridiculous; how can you face that?'That was the battle that was going on! (Norman 1985a: 249).

In her testimonial, Unarian Sanosun said that she had to force herself out of bed each morning, because she could not face herself or her fellow students. She explained that she moved through the day like a zombie, "distrustful and unloving."

My attempted withdrawal and lack of interest, seemingly started after the spacecraft failed to land on the' spot of the Lemurian property near El Cajon, when we were all reliving the Isis-Osiris cycle, when They [Ernest Norman and Ruth Norman] were killed by the mob before the spacecraft could take them aboard. Fear has always been riding high in my makeup, but now I was closing my ears to the sound of voices, I was seeing within a very small radius of the space in which I moved, I was no longer interested or enthusiastic and all joie de vivre was gone (Norman 1978: 58-59)!

Uriel had alerted The National Enquirer before the event, but media were not called in for the aftermath (Norman 1985a). Rather the group chose to come together in classes and personal interaction, discussing their feelings within the interpretive context of having a "reliving" of the Isis-Osiris Cycle. Although the students struggled with their new revelations, little free time remained because the Unarian Mission had to proceed. At the beginning of November, Unarius staged a two-day seminar, "The Psychic Age," in conjunction with San Diego State College's Continuing Education Department.

As 1976 began, Unarians were experiencing another "reliving," the Lemurian Cycle (Unarian Students and Norman 1976). Crystal was plagued with bad dreams. A psychic reading revealed her past life during the destruction of Lemuria. According to the reading, the evil Lemurian Masters had controlled the masses by implanting electronic devices in their foreheads; the people lived as robots. During classes, everyone was drawn into the cycle as they discussed their own experiences. They too had memories of torture and pain from their past lives on the lost continent.

A New Date

In March, 1976, shortly after the first anniversary of the Center, Uriel and some of her students wagered $4000 with Ladbrokes, a British bookmaker that the spaceships would land on earth within one year (Norman 1985b). Ladbrokes asked to release the information to the press and Unarius gave them permission to do so. The prophecy of the landing became news again in the tabloid press. Tom Snyder interviewed Uriel on the television show Tomorrow. Uriel described this time.

This half-hour appearance did indeed serve to a good advantage. Many persons contacted Unarius, as a result. Moreover, what with all the news media coverage of my activities, especially that of interplanetary communication, things really began to pop. About 70 radio and television stations made contact and many were the recorded tapes that I made for them over my telephone right at home, and which, in most instances, were aired live, as I gave them! ... Some remarked of the strong healing powers that were not only sensed, but also seen (Norman 1985b: 6).

In mid-September, Uriel and Cosmon (Norman 1985b) traveled to Canada to make personal appearances and engage in a small-scale media campaign. According to the photographic record, the publicity trip to Canada appeared lighthearted. Back home, the prophecy lived on. Nevertheless, Ruth eventually lost her bet, for after all the preparation to receive the great flying ships, they still did not appear. Unarius simply pushed back the date to the year 2001. I could find no public record of distress over the second failure. To some extent, this may be due to face-saving, then again, Unarians had gone through the experience before, so they were probably taking things in stride. Their newsletters state that Unarians were absorbed in "Project Mars." All attention was focused upon Uriel's psychic trips to Mars, and the latest information on how Martians would also participate in the landing. The students were engrossed in building miniature replicas of Martian cities. The Project Mars movie production gained momentum. By May, Unarius lavishly celebrated the completion of their first movie about Mars, Uriel Speaks.

The failure of the saucers to land did not significantly reduce membership; in fact new members were attracted by the publicity (Norman 1985b). Students worked out their feelings by redefining their emotions as guilt over the murder of Isis. Hopes of the landing were still kept alive, yet the members learned to balance the institutionalized rigors of past-life therapy with the impulsive pursuit of predictions. Uriel and Antares kept giving readings that the saucers were going to land throughout the late seventies and early eighties. This prompted certain students to go on all night vigils out to the landing site, although occasionally they organized comparable slumber parties at the Center.

Searching the dark skies, they continued to watch for the coming of their radiant "Vehicles of Eight." Despite disconfirmation, Uriel had become a small-time celebrity. The influx of fresh mythopoeic material had stimulated homemade movies and past-life therapy sessions. In sum, the failed prophecy did little to damage Unarius's credibility with most of its students. This segment of Unarian history illustrates how adaptive leaders and members were in a series of disconfirmation events. They set back dates. They added to their own mythology. They could continued to meet and comfort each other with their testimonials about overcoming doubt. At the core of all this activity was the presupposed perfection of the people on the flying saucers and the imperfection of the members. All activity emerged from the cooperative interpretive procedures and practices which reconstituted the unfalsifiable reality of the Space Brothers...

...Reality maintenance in groups invokes embodied enactments of articulated understandings (Preston 1988; Griffin 1995). I asked several Unarians how they knew it was a reliving, not a false prophecy. Their general response was that they experienced its healing power. Furthermore, they could still experience it, even if they joined the group years after the event took place. "Facing the past" of the Isis-Osiris Cycle brings powerful transformations, I was told. One of the ways Unarians face the past and experience a reliving is through filmed psychodrama. In the late seventies, Uriel took the students up to the landing site to work out their psychic scars over Isis-Osiris. The edited film of this event airs regularly on public-access television where I viewed it several times during the study. The films and testimonials by students are always cited as irrefutable evidence of the reality of the prophecy.

Prior to the filming, members worked on assembling their Egyptian costumes and collecting kitchen knives as props in the big murder scene. In a 1989 interview, Billie explained how much the psychodrama helped her.

Once Uriel took us out to the landing site in Jamul. She put on makeup which made her look like she had been beaten. They guided us a little, but there was no set script. We said whatever came out of our mouths. We had to go through this to remember the emotions of this past life. If you had the guilts over this past life, you would just cry. I cried all the time in psychodramas because of my negative past. She went to this extent to help us drag up what was inside. When you finally get through this and feel the remorse, there is a freeing inside of you. A psychiatrist can only take you back through this lifetime You have to go back many lifetimes to work these problems out. This goes back thousands of years.

The student Thomas reminded me that he was one of the many members who had a healing during the same filming at the landing site. He pointed me to his testimonial in a Unarian text.

. . . Uriel came to me and told me to lie down on the ground. I looked into the eyes of this Infinite Being and went out! She removed the hordes and hordes of religious obsessions. My hands and arms shot straight out to the sides and I looked like a cross! My arms and legs repeatedly beat and pounded the earth (Norman 1984b: 351-52)!

Memories of the Isis-Osiris Cycle were more than just a cognitive experience. When students talked about their experiences with the Isis-Osiris Cycle, and the subsequent times "it came back through" to be relived again, their bodies sometimes shivered with somatic memory. To them - the "Science" heals; that is the message of the saucers. Healings are expected as part of using the "Science." I was told that if I would use the "Science," then I would be healed, then I would understand. Subsumed in the mystery of the Isis-Osiris cycle lay the "truth" of the confirmed prophecy. By embodying, "reliving," and acting out the "truth" of their reality, Unarians clearly sustained the experiential integrity of their interpretation...
