What's up with this?

Rangel: Investigate whether Bush intentionally misled U.S. for war

This is the third story I've read today regarding Conyers' DSM hearing that headlines Rep. Rangel as the force behind it.

Any guesses why the popular media is addressing it this way?

I've considered that, possibly, Rangel is slightly more noteworthy to Americans than Conyers, and perhaps the press is trying lamely to give this thing wheels.

I've thought more likely, because Rangel is one of those Democrats that isn't antiwar, that he'd be regarded as less serious about this matter than Conyers. Even in the hearing today Rangel said something to the effect that he'd always go to war for America. I can't remember the exact quote, but it sounded out of place.

Any guesses?
