An honest mistake?

Postby nomo » Fri Dec 16, 2005 7:09 pm

So this Al-Zarqawi guy manages to outrun the Americans more than once, in sometimes stunningly close encounters, yet he allows himself to be nabbed by a bunch of inexperienced Iraqi cops just like that?

I suppose it is possible, but still highly weird.

Meanwhile they keep picking up all his number 2's left and right, don't they.

Maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

I don't think you are reading too much into the al-Zarqawi story at all, nomo. Personally, I don't believe anyone could evade the combined efforts of the US military and its intelligence agencies for so long IF they were really after that person and IF that person were a real, flesh and blood human being living in contact with the rest of humanity.

This, I believe was the source of the Al Qaeda "caveman" myth, a way to explain to those with some notion of the capabilities of those US military/intelligence resources (the personel in particular) how a group of people in contact with a global terrorist network could evade them for so long.

The following example of this myth making is from the "Son of Al Qaeda" story presented by Frontline: www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/fr...hadr.html:

Quote:
He had forbidded electricity even if he knew they needed it, but he didn't want them in any way to be spoiled because with some things, that's how it starts, he says. It starts with ice and then something a little more and then a more and more and more and so he restricted.

While it's debatable that whatever composes the real "al-Qaeda" lives under such austere conditions, it's clear that al-Zarqawi would need access to modern technology to accomplish many of the things he has been credited with.*

Though I can't vouch for some of his evidence, like the voice analysis of the various al-Zarqawi recordings, I think Victor Peters was on the right track with his investigation into the al-Zarqawi enigma.

Quote:
Marine Corporal Zarqawi has involuntarily vanished.

The Defense Department is covering up a scandal in Iraq bigger than Abu Ghraib, bigger than the missing WMD. And this time, you cant handle the truth.

A US Marine Corporal went missing on June 21, 2004; a video showing him held hostage by Islamic militants was posted June 27, and a message saying he had been beheaded was posted July 3 by another terrorist group. On July 6, the corporal showed up 400 miles from where he was last seen and turned himself in to US State Department consulate officers rather than to US Marine Corps officers in the same building. In November 2004, the corporals passport and uniform were found in a terror cell in Falluja, giving credence to the hostage scenario. But in December Navy investigators (NCIS) charged him with desertion, dismissing the staged hostage video and the planted items in Falluja. Inexplicably and suspiciously, the corporal was given leave to celebrate the Christian holiday of Christmas with his family. (The corporal and his family are Muslims.)

When he missed his scheduled court appearance in January 2005, he was again considered a deserter and put on the Navys most wanted list. A false trail of ATM usage in Canada and an alleged phone call from Lebanon are supposed to make us believe he got to his native Lebanon from Canada without a passport. An Arab man with a military bearing and a fake passport is not going to get out of Canada or into Lebanon without getting noticed by a half dozen intelligence agencies.

It should be obvious that this is anything but a routine desertion case and that there are some people helping the corporal. On its surface the case is strange, but if you follow the hole deeper you will eventually get to the office of the Secretary of Defense (Donald Rumsfeld). Grasp this one case and the entire Rumsfeld-RMA [Revolution in Military Affairs] matrix becomes visible.

On July 19, 2004, the corporal held a one-minute news conference to declare, I am not a deserter. A few days earlier, I had written on Liberty Forum that this Marine would not live to tell his story in court or to the media. And what a story he had to tell! He could have beaten the desertion charge and made the hostage story hold up in court (even though he made phone calls while supposedly being held by terrorists) on the strength of his hostage video and the planted items in Falluja. The suggestion that terrorist videos could be staged/faked is forbidden in the Rummy-RMA matrix. The idea that evidence could be planted in Falluja is a thought crime. Just one foot in the rabbit hole and the matrix is shaking.

Was the corporal going to keep his mouth shut about what he knew? He had a book deal and a movie deal on the table before his desertion trial, so he was a threat. Sooner or later he was going to talk.

What was his story? He was the reluctant Zarqawi of the Nick Berg execution video (May 11, 2004) and the reader of the Kim Sun-il execution video (June 22, 2004). Same physical description, same voice audiometrics, same forensic linguistics (Arabic inflections & idioms, vocabulary, education level, etc.), same mannerisms (watch his July news conference where he holds a sheet of white paper and reads a statement and the execution videos where he does the same thing). Dead-on bullseye.

The Nick Berg and Kim Sun Zarqawi has not been seen or heard from since June 22 the same day the corporal was first noticed to be missing.

The reason the Kim Sun reader was not called Zarqawi by the CNN/CIA was that an entirely different Zarqawi posted a message on the same day the Kim Sun video was released and CNN/CIA arbitrarily picked that one as the Zarqawi du jour. I was in the middle of an exhaustive voice analysis of Zarqawi statements at the time, so I suspected right away that the Marine corporal was somehow part of the mystery. On July 1, 2004 I posted The Dueling Zarqawi Voices of June 22" which has been deleted by Liberty Forum but can be seen in a Google cache.

I can confidently state the results of the forensic analyses I coordinated because nobody at the CIA, FBI or Pentagon will attest to (on the record) the authenticity of any Zarqawi statement.

Lets say this again: the Zarqawi of the Nick Berg video is the reader Zarqawi of the Kim Sun-il video. Same person, same voice. And the Marine corporal is a match to the voice and physical characteristics of this Zarqawi. The corporal and the Zarqawi went missing by June 22. None of the subsequent Zarqawi statements match the voice or linguistics of the Berg-Kim Sun Zarqawi and the Zarqawis have suddenly become camera-shy.

See how deep the rabbit hole goes: take one jump in and you have fake terrorist videos, planted evidence in Falluja, and a gaggle of Zarqawis all coming from the direction of the Defense Secretarys black ops/special ops groups, which is why the FBI and CIA will not / cannot comment on them, on the record.

No wonder our Marine corporal surrendered to the State Department instead of to the Marines.

Take another jump deeper. Who killed Nick Berg and Korean Kim Sun? Enough with the conspiracy theories! Why dont we ask the FBI? How about some testimony from the lead FBI investigator in front of a Senate committee? Oh, there is no lead FBI investigator on the Nick Berg case! The FBI does not believe Zarqawi was involved and they are not going to waste their time covering the footprints of Rumsfelds subcontractors.

The FBI is a lost cause. What about the Navys NCIS? They at least have a series on television and a high level of respect. For them to pretend to be baffled by the ATM trail leading into Canada, not to mention their complicity in permitting the corporal to vanish, is most disheartening. Where are Tom Cruise and Mark Harmon when we need them most?

Disclaimer: this is a personal opinion posted on a chat forum. I am a raving lunatic and you should not believe a word Ive written. You should ask the NCIS lead investigator and the FBI Assistant Director to speak on the record about these things. Dont waste your time with the Secretary of Defense; hes a raving lunatic as well. The White House? Stick to sworn, career officers who have honor and integrity and wont lie. Okay, Tom Cruise will do.

www.libertyforum.org Published: June 9, 2005 Author: exclusive to Liberty Forum For Education and Discussion Only. Not for Commercial Use.

USMC take note.

June 21, 2004 was a momentous day in the al Zarqawi saga. Five hearings were scheduled in the prosecution of the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal: four in Iraq, one in North Carolina. Three busloads of prisoners were released from Abu Ghraib. On that day, Korean civilian Kim Sun-il was murdered and beheaded. Also, a 16-minute audio tape was made by a man claiming to be al-Zarqawi and the CIA gave an unofficial thumbs up as to the authenticity of the audio tape. Finally, a US Marine translator was listed as missing for failing to report for daily duty in the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at his base near Baghdad.

The next day, the Kim Sun video and the Zarqawi audio were released to the media. The missing Marine, Corporal Wassef Ali Hassoun, was marked as AWOL. The disinformation by the US military concerning Hassoun is almost as baffling as the use of a Marine for a hostage. Its assured self destruction for everyone associated with the captors if hes killed. Everyone in Fallujah (where the US military keeps bombing Zarqawi safe houses regardless of whether the Marine is being held in these safe houses) will pay with blood. Grasping this reality, one might expect a sane resident of Fallujah to betray Zarqawi, thus sparing the city and reaping a $25 million reward.

But which Zarqawi do we pay the reward on? The Zarqawi of the Nick Berg video (released May 11) is the same person, same voice, of the speaker on the Kim Sun video of June 22. Even to an American ear, by playing the voices at the same time, the match is apparent. The metallic, muffled voice on the Berg audio track can be clarified and equalized. The voice on the Kim Sun audio track has more intensity and emotion, but its the same voice as the Berg Zarqawi.

The voice on the June 22 Zarqawi audio does not match the voice on the June 22 Kim Sun video. The 16-minute audio statement fails to mention Kim Sun-il or the captured Marine. It also says I am not in Fallujah in an attempt to stop the bombing of Zarqawi safe houses. It is spoken in the style of a clever news commentary after a New Testament greeting and blessing is offered. It contains an odd reference to one-eyed Moshe Dayan, a hero of Israel who died when Zarqawi was about 14. Even more bizarre, and this should be noted with extreme care, he mentions how angry he gets when he sees the photos of Iraqi women at Abu Ghraib forced to drink semen from a glass. These photos have not been released. Only the US military and the US Congress have seen them.

The voice on the Berg and Kim Sun videos is the same vague dialect of colloquial Arabic not native to Jordan or Iraq. It mangles every reference to Allah or to the Prophet and has no genuine Quranic citation. The June 22 Zarqawi, at least, was not afraid to throw in New Testament, Talmud and Quran references, although Muslims are loathe to quote the Quran in common dialect; to do so repeatedly (as the speaker does) shows disrespect for the sacred text.

The Berg and Kim Sun Zarqawis are the same person. The June 22 Zarqawi is a different person. The April 5 and April 29 Zarqawis are different from the Berg/Kim Sun Zarqawi and the June 22 Zarqawi. We have three or four Zarqawis. In a few weeks both the FBI and the CIA will clamor for more funds and more power, using the phantom Zarqawi as justification. The US Marine Corps should hold them accountable for their piss-poor voice analysis and so-called intelligence. The captured Marine, I fear, will not be found alive.

For the voice analysis report, sign on to Yahoo as user Zarqawi_voice_analysis with password public (lower case letters).
