There have been reports of strange gas or sulphurlike smells in Singapore, Japan, United Arab Emirates, and Canada. Can't find a live link on the Singapore one but here are others:

www.yomiuri.co.jp/dy/nati...Y02002.htm

www.khaleejtimes.com/Disp...heuae&col=

www.chroniclejournal.com/...le_412.php

There was also a suspected natural gas leak in my town in the Netherlands on Friday but I dunno if anything was found. I've been having terrible asthma for weeks...the worst since I had surgery a decade ago. Last night I woke at 5 am unable to breathe. Luckily I have had a lot of practice clearing my lungs out without having to go to the ER, but it took me till after 10 am, and I have been exhausted all day, even after a healthy lunch and a walk. As I wrote above, I noticed the 'nasty stink' near my house last week.

I didn't smell it today when I walked by, but it seems to get worse at night, almost like they're venting something after most people are inside for the evening.

Mystery fog engulfs Nigerian city

Postby nashvillebrook » Wed Oct 12, 2005 10:14 pm

Nigeria's main city of Lagos has been enveloped in a thick, white, malodorous fog, which has caused panic.

The fog has a strange odour, which caused people to run out of their work places and homes to find out what was going on.

Lagos' state governor closed all schools in the city and some residents have complained of irritation to their eyes and stomach pains.

Tests showed the fog had higher than normal levels of sulphuric acid, but was not harmful. Visibility in some areas has been reduced to 100m.

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world...335550.stm
