First, a warm hello and all wishes best to all of you. I am reading what I can and regretting I can’t read everything (but, I feel more strongly every day that I simply must spend my time on what I see as our highest priority). Still find this forum remarkcommendable for its high-calibre, intrepid and capable explorers…interested, interesting people of good and loving ethics. Namaste, all of you.

Now, about saving our own asses…Re the Cindy Sheehan thread (and pertinent to the vast majority of threads, actually):

I do not question the sincerity of Cindy Sheehan, and I do share my good wishes to her and hope she does cause a massive stirring of discontent, so people will start to wake up to all the lies we’ve been told.

BUT, BUT, BUT….there is an unseen/unspoken problem that well-intentioned activists are avoiding….a problem that ensures they work against their own best interests in the end. What CS is doing actually plays right into the hands of those who callously spent her son’s life in their pursuit of power and wealth. The blinded amongst us will use her example to say “See? America is the greatest! Where else do they tolerate such dissention? You’re lucky to live here where we have freedom!”

And, as planned, we’re right back to “America, love it or leave it” in the minds of the intellectually lazy. After all of Cindy’s dedicated struggle and efforts, we arrive back at square one. Even if she can win a battle, the real and dangerous war is unaffected. A Dem in the white house next time? Oh yeah, maybe the next uber-rich occupant will save us. Or the one after that one, or the one after that one. Riiiight.

Flip a coin, and an uber-wealthpowerful insider comes up every time to continue and extend the world-wide plutocracy.

Silly humans. What a hilarious species we are!

Here’s what’s not so funny:

(this next would be in bold type, if i knew how to do that)

Fighting the wealth-power giants for our rights sends the wrong message. It sends the message that it is GOOD to fight the wealth-power giants for our rights, that it is RIGHT to fight the wealth-power giants for our rights, that it is NECESSARY to fight the wealth-power giants for our rights, that we MUST ALWAYS fight the wealth-power giants for our rights.

WRONG.

How much better to spend our energies and time spreading the (true) word amongst ourselves, that wealth-power giants are dangerous to an extreme we cannot tolerate, and are totally unnecessary to human society?

We are societal-living creatures who specialize in our work and live our every moment immersed in commerce. This is inescapable. What is NOT writ in stone, is that resulting from this commerce there must be super-winners and super-losers, always…and the absolutely predictable strife which is its eternal companion.

Focus like a Lazer on what matters to your survival and happiness. Tell the people; your family, friends, and anyone who will listen, especially those in the military (!!) that the way to sanity, peace, justice, and happiness lies in murdering the very idea of having wealth-power giants. There is nothing more powerful than an idea. The most effective thing you can do to help humanity is to spread this idea…that having ANY wealth-power giants is a stupid scheme that is killing us all and this planet. The idea of having wealth-power giants is nothing short of geno-sadism. Don’t be a geno-sadist.

(this next would be in bold, too)

Overpay. It is on the brink of killing 6 billion people. It kills 50 million a year. It steals 50 trillion (US) dollars a year. It causes most violence. Shouldn’t we make it illegal?

We will, easily, once (most) everyone becomes aware of the root cause of 99% of human misery. The military is made up of our families. It is crucial that they be made to see. Print my global happiness plan, or by all means write your own version, and give it to a soldier you know. if you agree, then the thinking is yours. i want no credit, ever. what i want is the message to be coming from everywhere.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist, or a rocket, to get there from here…to get to peace/safety/happiness. What it takes is cold, hard reasoning. There is nothing impossible nor even difficult about creating an equitable economic order. How about sanely restricting inheritance, and establishing maximum wage...just to throw out two easy steps we could take. Ask Wolf Paulie about Henry George; he’ll give you another brilliant, entirely workable idea.

Realize and help all others realize, that wealth and power must be spread, instead of piled in phallic heaps, if we want safety. We have an inequity factor in the billions. We don’t even have to get to perfect economic equity/justice. Reduce the inequity factor to a thousand, and you will reduce the world tension and violence and suffering by a factor of a million.

If your neighbor is bigger and stronger than you…enough to beat you up and take your lawnmower, he is bigger and stronger enough to beat you up and take everything you have. Do you want him prevented from doing that? Then you must prevent anyone from doing it to anyone…including you doing it to him, right? No wealthpower giants, no wealthpower giants to be protected from.

Where do you want to go? What do you want for your children…and all the children of the earth? Will protesting against the current wealth-power giants get you there? Or will it only get you different faces on the wealth-power giants…whom you can go on eternally protesting against, and begging your rights from?

Why pull at the leaves and continue suffering, when we can dig out the root and create a many-fold increase in happiness/safety/freedom? Hello?

I imagine some are getting tired of AnnaLivia and her ‘one-note’ insisting that we must murder the very idea of having wealth-power giants (since no one will even discuss this, even here amongst the obviously savvy, which is a great disappointment. I figure no group knows better than y’all, the degree of concentration of wealth and consolidation of power in the hands of a fraction few.) But I am trying to save my bacon, here, Friends. And yours. I damn well feel that I’d be criminally negligent AND suicidal, NOT to post this post.

And……what if I’m right? (Stranger things have happened.) What if this is the answer? What if this is our last chance for changing lanes, and we’re missing it by a mile? Don’t you owe it to yourself to thoroughly chew over what I am saying?

Problems have solutions. The solution to 99% of human misery is making overpay illegal…not only illegal, but a thing known in the collective consciousness to be fatal to happiness and forever avoided as the plague it is. Teach this to children from infancy; that to want more than one’s rightful share (one’s own earnings) is diabolic stupidity, is suicide. Children in the future must be reminded of a time when money did not belong to its rightful owners, and of how close humanity came to extinction as a result of this ridiculous idea. Our DNA must come to carry this lesson always.

If you think I have got it wrong about the root cause being extreme economic injustice, please show me where. I do not want to pursue a wrongheaded path. Show me the flaw in this thinking. question me.

Will anyone here take The Equity Challenge? It goes like this:

Imagine we already live in an equitable society, having no extremes of wealthpower, where all needs are met because earners are not deprived of the fruits of their labor, with modest luxury for all, and where restraints on extremes are firmly in place because the human consciousness has recognized the essentiality of economic justice to peace, health, and happiness. There is no struggle to get on top of others, little violence, little cost to society to deal with violence. There are no billionaires and trillionaires keeping the wealth of the world locked in their treasure chests.

Now imagine it has been proposed to introduce inequity into this society, so that some can take far more than their earned share, leaving others with less than theirs.

What rational, sound, sane argument could be brought to support this introduction of inequity?

Give me just one good reason, and you win the challenge.

Ready? GO. I am waiting…the yet unborn are waiting….a million girls and boys who will lie down to become sex workers and slaves this year are waiting…..our soldiers are waiting…..foreign civilians are waiting……landmine victims sans appendages are waiting…the 11 million children under 5 who will die preventable deaths this year are waiting…the 50 million workers who are starved to death each year are waiting…the very skies and waters are waiting…this entire planet is waiting….the future is waiting….for your answer.

YOU are very powerful. All you have to do is ignore this thinking, and you can maintain the vast unnecessary suffering of humanity, escalating soon to extinction.

If you don’t love life, this message is not meant for YOU.

equity challenge

Postby smiths » Fri Aug 12, 2005 2:43 am

heres another, stolen from someone who i cant recall, retold badly because again i cant recall,

imagine the kind of society or world you would want to live in if the only condition was that you had no idea where you would end up in the heap when you got dropped into it,

i dont think many people would want to take their chances in the current situation, i certainly wouldnt want to take the risk, given that i probably exist within the richest 10% of the planets population, the chances of me getting very much poorer and hungrier and more traumatised seem very high

the heap of humans

Postby electric love » Wed Aug 17, 2005 11:18 pm

yes, and if reincarnation is true [and 80% of people do believe it, and so would the remaining 20% [christians] except for a rigged vote by an eastern [constantinople] emperor in the 3d c] then we will all appear over and over in all parts of the human heap, maybe even appearing over and over [the lifeforce not to be denied] even as radiation-deformed babies--------u may be thinking, oh well, the worlds a mess, but im going to be dead soon, so its not worth fixing it --------maybe u wont ever be dead, so learn to reduce unnecessary suffering now for yr endless future [you have appeared once, so there is no big deal about you appearing twice, it isnt hard to understand the possibility of yr appearing over and over---mother nature seems inclined to bring forth creatures---maybe u r stuck with life forever and u better make a good job of it now 0000000000000 in the heap of humans, everyone is worse off compared to all persons standing on the ground----the lower in the heap, the more weight, the more oppression-------the higher in the heap, the more people below u trying to get higher by pulling u down [kennedy, lennon, ceausescu, caesar]-------in the heap noone can afford to be generous, because it wd just increase the chances of being pulled down into worse suffering-------we are all in a heap of humans with enormous unnecessary suffering and fear-----we can all learn to give up the heap, give up our monomania of trying to succeed in life thru the heap-------stop being hypnotised by the heap for a minute and see that EVERYONE will be better off with everyone standing on the ground--------NOONE being oppressed from above, NOONE being multi-attacked from below----------WE CAN BE MUCH HAPPIER AT NO COST-------there is enough income for everyone including mothers homemakers and students to be paid US$10 dollars an hr [doubles every 12 years if global inflation runs at 6%]---------thats better than extinction isnt it, thats better than an endless succession of bushes instead of lincolns and jeffersons, isnt it, thats better than vietnams forever, hiroshimas forever, world wars forever, starvation forever, skyjackings forever, atrocities forever isnt it------whenever there is bigmoney, the bigmoneylovers will push out the joblovers, whether in politics, medicine, or anything----------having extreme differences in payrates is like having dams all over the lake::::::::utterly pointless, incredibly costly, forever dangerous to maintain, regular disasters, prevents everyone watersking

........ but in what timeframe? Rudolf Steiner teaches that we are living in the world WE created in our past lives even as we create the world into which we will be reincarnated in our future lives. The choice is ours: we ARE shitting in our own nest.
