I do hope you're not referencing me. I'm not confusing drugs with each other. As a matter of fact, that's why I had posted, to get things squared away so that I might understand, which has nothing to do with "all drugs = all drugs" and being "anti-rational". As a matter of fact, the woman who came to me with the comments about the DMT was specifically attempting to discern between the truth and the "urban legends" going around about it. So please don't use that thread as an example, as its a very poor one, and actually works against your argument. Especially with the amount of educated information going on in it.

Thank you.

i've actually changed my mind about AD recently. First I thought he was a mutation of DE, in spirit, then I realized he is actually a good guy, the type whose strings gets pulled by the more experienced, manupulative bitches in the background. He is in fact the male version of little red riding hood :())).

I basically agree, am not against the accepted psychopharmaceuticals per se, do not discount the very real problems associated with mental illness, and definitely do think that sometimes the meds can help. It's an individual choice and once again, it just depends.

But by and large the antipsychiatry and anti-psychiatric drug movements *are* at a basic level opposed to those things, which is why it's so easy for CCHR and NaturalNews to swoop the fuck in and sell your chair out from under you when you start trucking in that.

I understand your point, but I think you're painting with overly broad brushstrokes.

This isn't new, but it may have been forgotten, so a reminder:

A public forum such as this is not an appropriate venue for soliciting or offering diagnoses of ritual abuse, mind control, abduction, psychological disturbance or any similar history or condition.

So, a general, all-points caution. I don't want people chucking their medication or deterred from seeking treatment on account of opinion read here.

Thank you, Jeff.

I could remove the link to the Harm Reduction Guide if you think that's appropriate, or even change the name to something more obscure if you think that's necessary.

I also think that raises a larger question about how to talk about psychiatric drugs here on this forum in a way that's actually helpful...

I'd also like to invite constructive feedback on this thread.

If things here went astray, when did that happen? Why did that happen?

Most importantly, what can we do to make things better?

AD -

Since you asked for feedback ... justdrew started a thread about _psychiatry_ and attached trigger words like scilon and sick joke. The original article was a fascinating glimpse into the current state of the profession and I was glad to have read it ... but there are some topics and conversations IMO that need to be framed with a little more care.

** edited to indicate justdrew as the OP ... not AD. Sorry about that!

pardon my French \\\

well, mine is ESL, and in this dialect, the word is kosher, but I might not be aware of the finesse on this board :)) :angelwings: every day new guidelines

I only skimmed this thread, which seems to be in fact "how to drive some neurotic people off the edge and then diagnose them", and fell on your comment which brought a host of memories...

on edit - to the issue, where I live, americans are ridiculed for always branding their agony or personality problems with a "diagnosis" from the DSM. Intead of saying, I am a pest, they will say "I am dianosed and treated for OCD" etc. This particular trend didnt catch here, but McDonalds sure did. I think the RUssian herritage here is strong, and psychiatry is associated with the Gulags :) (the old Gitmo's).
