Saw a blimp today, right in my neighborhood, flying rather erratically, was actually kind of worried it was in some sort of trouble.

Realized the surface area of those things is huge relative to their weight, of course, and it would be quite easy to make them, or cover them, with some of the new light weight films that turn solar energy into power. I would think the surface area is so large that it could easily make enough power to run the motors that propel the thing.

You could have hundreds of these over a big city, as long as (I suppose) it wasn't too windy.

Why would they be hovering over a city? You know there are great big winds at high altitudes, jet streams and that, which could drag them along. I read an article in New Scientist once about hooking giant high-altitude kites to cargo ships to use the trade winds like in olden days. No point using powered flight if you can just get blown.

All of my big money ideas involve drugs or pornography (but in a sort of more culturally convivial way). I just started a thread about this on my other board. Ecstasy flavored hot cocoa, Dorthraki porn for ladies, Harry Potter-themed dubstep male strip clubs.

However in more practical RI-related non-commercial ideas, I've been wanting to investigate the Fraternitas Rosae Crucis ties to scandals surrounding the Clymer Healing Center and Woodlands Healing and Research Centers in Quakertown, PA, and investigate any further Rosicrucian ties to the Bethel Baptist Church, which I know firsthand to have been involved in sexual abuse of young girls in the 80's and 90's and which is located in close physical proximity to the Rosicrucian centers in a rather rural area.
