Psychological Operations FM 33-1

The expansion module is also very enlightening:

Not reading per se, but a really exceptional documentary on the subject:

Even better: John Pilger's recent documentary, The War You Don't See:

Just went and picked up my library requests of Mirage Men & Blank Spots On The Map today based on this thread and a few others.

I hadn't really been thinking about them since putting in the request last month; today my mind had been on watching Repo Man for the first time based on Jeff & others' recommendations. Wow, I had no idea what it was about! Mirage Men is so appropriate to have on hand.

Funnily enough, I just found the alien stuff distracting from the awesome LA setting & characters.

A couple from the daddy of modern low-intensity warfare, General Sir Frank Edward Kitson, inventor of the term psuedo-operations (or, in our tongue, false flag operations):

Gangs and Counter-gangs (1960), Barrie and Rockliff

Low Intensity Operations: Subversion, Insurgency and Peacekeeping (1971), Faber and Faber - reprint 1991
"The universe is 40 billion light years across and every inch of it would kill you if you went there. That is the position of the universe with regard to human life."

You get some nutrition from UK psyops mogul, Philip M. Taylor. Definitely read all you can.
But it is sanitized.
A useful Psyops 101 not to be taken as definitive.

BUT. Note that his book are all on military psyops.
AND. He just happens to throw in a book on Steven Spielberg.

A *wink wink* to the savvy pointing at the US Pentagon lead sled-dog for post-Vietnam psyops for the kidz.
CIA runs mainstream media since WWII:
news rooms, movies/TV, publishing
...
Disney is CIA for kidz!
