DU tombstoned TIA? anyone else catching this?

Postby nashvillebrook » Sat Aug 27, 2005 6:33 pm

I've seen TIA tombstoned at least once before, I didn't know he had been again, and don't know the circumstances. I hope to see him posting again. If not at DU, then somewhere.

Short answer looks like TIA got flambaited into a bannable fight, but I know the admins and mods are torn a lot over this so we'll see how it all goes down.

170 votes for greatest says _something_ though

Check out the thread, its awesome!

www.democraticunderground...203x391223

I don't blame the mods as it does seem like the winds have started to pick up here at the end of august ... and maybe TIA's kicking reflects an instinctive shoring up of things as greater events start to unfold in DC. I woulnd't be surprised if 1-2 million show up for September 24th...

If its the smell of shit in the air, it might just be getting close to the fan!

stay tuned!

ENO

this is the second mention of things heating up in DC vis a vis TIA -- can anyone 'splain the connection? how would this affect DU mods?

reading between the lines, it sounds like what's being said is that folks who contribute heavily truth-telling and/or get flamebaited somehow put DU in danger given that *something* is going to happen in DC which may or may not have anything to do with the sept 24 protest.

so like, the mods want to lay low until after september?

me confused. it's not uncommon. in other news, it looks like my "friend" cubsfan1982 is showing his true colors. he's commie baiting tonite. commie baiting. wow. there's a blast from the past.

DU has lost all credibility because of poor leadership.

Postby MichaelCollinsJr » Mon Aug 29, 2005 12:40 am

TruthIsAll is a genius. The banning of TIA represents a pathetic event in the history of left wing blogs. KOS has been dissing election fraud work for months.

The TIA appreciation thread was a who's who cross-section of great DU uers. It would have reached 500 posts if it hadn't been locked. Look at the crude tone and logic of the admin in the thread locking message; totally tasteless and a slander without offering the slandered (TIA) the opportunity to reply.

DU's owners and mods have lost all credibility. The reason given for the banning was attacking low post count users. Do they think general users are unaware that low post count users can also be trolls? Do they think serious lurkers on the Elections Research/Discussion can't tell that those low post count users are there as dissemblers at best and trolls at worst.

This was a very sad day. DU admins and mods should be ashamed but they won't be. They have shown the blogsphere what hypocrites they are.

DU lost credibility, petty Tombstoning a leading light

Postby Starman » Mon Aug 29, 2005 1:20 am

Michael Collins Jr. said:

"The TIA appreciation thread was a who's who cross-section of great DU uers. It would have reached 500 posts if it hadn't been locked. Look at the crude tone and logic of the admin in the thread locking message; totally tasteless and a slander without offering the slandered (TIA) the opportunity to reply."

I quite agree- It seems so incredibily petty and silly to Tombstone someone who so many hold in high regard for their invaluable contribution to truth. I didn't see ONE post (except for the admin) complaining of TIA's supposed 'bad behavior'. The admin comes across like a third-grade teacher who thinks they're Almighty Gawd whose shit don't stink. And of course, it's a demonstration of snobby elitism to not give someone
(esp. of TIA's well-earned high-regard and popularity) whose been so publicly slammed for alleged 'abuses' the chance to reply. There have been a fair number of first-and-second-hand reports of such seemingly arbitrary displays of banning at DU for specious or contrived pretexts -- which emphasize that DU is NOT a genuine public forum. It just seems like a damn shame.

Among many, many enthusiasticly positive posts on the 'Paging Truth Is All' tribute (now locked) thread, Full Metal Hat, expressing a popular sentiment, wrote, in part, "As one of the few people who profess to "understand the math", or at least correlate the general significance of any of those annoying .png graphs with the rest of the body of TIA's work, I would argue that TIA's has been the most important contribution to DU, hands down. The original and creative insights expressed by our esteemed colleague is nothing short of breathtaking and quite frankly historic in its dogged and focused pursuit of keyholes to spy on the truth we _know_ is going on behind the locked doors of government and media."

Sure seems like something rotton is going on. Is DU satisfying the interests of their corporate sponsors? I'm inclined to suspect TIA might have finely-honed instincts if indeed he called select posters on they're likely being trolls or freepers.

Shame on DU.
Starman
Starman

and isn't it a comment on the admin that they don't

Postby nashvillebrook » Mon Aug 29, 2005 12:52 pm

patrol the trolls and let them have their way with certain forums. ERD has attracted the little bastards from the beginning -- that's why they had to post the sticky about not calling out trolls.

i've gone back and looked at TIAs recents threads pre-banning, and imo, the admin at best were asleep at the wheel and at worst were ignoring alerts on the disrupters.

in terms of "interests" coming into play -- my money is on dem orgs, especially as regards ERD -- rather than corp interests.

Look up 'Skinner Box,' used to observe test subjects. DU?

Postby Watchful Citizen » Fri Sep 02, 2005 12:10 pm

...and think of this instead of the mom-pecked principal Skinner on the Simpsons cartoon when you read notes from the DU admininstrator, Skinner.

B. F. Skinner was a renowned behavioral psychologist who began his career in the 1930s and is best known for his development of the Skinner box, a laboratory apparatus used to conduct and record the results of operant conditioning experiments with animals. (These are typically experiments in which an animal must manipulate an object such as a lever in order to obtain a reward.)

The internet is transparent to the US government which has ruled by psychological manipulation, a system called 'scientific fascism.' Using TV and newspapers to shape public opinion and tap into primal morality themes based on archetypal family experiences to generate predictable behaviour in politicians and constituents alike has been very effective since the CIA infiltrated mainstream media shortly after it was created in 1947.

The FBI/CIA/DIA/NSA used to have to tap phone lines to monitor the resistance during the old COINTELPRO days of the Cold War. Now we are all on the same phone line, the internet.

The identities of the resistance thinkers and organizers can be monitored and resources can be allocated more efficiently between domestic and foreign oppression.

Personality profiling can be used by operatives on chat groups to neutralize the most effective truth-tellers with hostile bickering and get them banned. The moderators who police the group can be infiltrated just as the CIA infiltrated the police departments of major cities such as LA and New York. (I'm sure there is atleast one DU moderator helping General Wesley Clark infiltrate the Democratic Party by banning people who post the evidence of his war crimes and business ties in the military industrial complex. This is why I got banned from DU after 3 years of exposing scientific fascism. The Good Cop is being groomed to replace the Bad Cop in 2008 to continue the American Holocaust.)

More importantly, the emergence of a news story can be tracked, choked, or turned to advantage as it makes its way through the internet to potential exposure in the CIA-steered media (Operation Mockingbird).

So take advantage of the internet to spread the truth about our military coup and occupation under the National Security Act and just assume all is transparent to the Powers That Be.

Don't be chilled. Act with moral courage and informed rapport to widen the circle of resistance until the American people stop being unwitting supporters of fascism and the blueprint of the US Constitution can be finally be used to build a society of compassion and justice.

Welcome to the graveyard TIA...

Postby Al Gomas » Fri Sep 02, 2005 6:50 pm

My first post on RI concerned my own unwarranted and unexplained banishment from DU. Maybe we should form a club? I don't care, if anything it has increased my determination to resist. Yesterday I bought my ticket to fly to DC on the 23rd. Lets take our country back! I envision a ring of citizens around the WH, chanting "We have you surrounded, come out with your hands up"

He is a gatekeeper and prevents people from looking into 9/11, 7/7 and many more stories. This is not the first time that he did so and it won't be the last time. The only question is whether he is a gatekeeper by free will or not? And that's a subject which is unknown.

I guess that Pitt in the sand is big enough to accomodate Will's ego as well.

I don't know why, oh, I guess I do know why, but sometimes the Pitts of the world piss me off more than the fascists.
