Unsolved Mysteries now available on Amazon Prime Video

Postby Freitag » Sat Mar 18, 2017 11:20 pm

For years, fans of Unsolved Mysteries lamented the unavailability of the original Robert Stack episodes. You just couldn't find them anywhere. Now seasons 1-3 are available through Amazon Prime :thumbsup

I've been watching these episodes, of course, in the dark like I used to watch X Files back in the day! But I'm enjoying it for more than just nostalgia; the quality of the show is amazing.

One really cool thing is that, by now, many of the mysteries have been solved and you can look them up online (although recent updates have conveniently been added to the end of each story). I find myself looking up almost every case on the internet. Of course, many cases do remain unsolved.

If you remember and love this show, do yourself a favor and check it out on Amazon

I know some frown on this, but do yourself a favor and give Amazon no money. Just torrent it. But fuck that show scared the living fuck out of me as a kid.

It hasn't been available via torrent, because there were never any DVDs to rip. Someone may have ripped it from Amazon by now though.

You might want to delete that link, 82. :thumbsup

Why? It is out and about. It is merely a link. I didn't come up with it. It's just there. I ain't no seeder either. I don't run no nodes or anything. But just a link preventing you from giving the destructor of Seattle any money.

Because Don Wombat politely requested no Torrent links?

I look at it as I do adblocker. I feel a semblance of bad, bad boy but I don't want to see it so I block that shit (or somebody does who wrote the code). Everything I have ever torrented I owned previously. Same with Napster and Audio Galaxy. Adios the both of them, but I don't give a shit. I spent $9.99 on some cassette tape in 1993 that I have no way to play now. Just the way it is. Many cassettes.

I must have missed the memo. But I find no problem with it. I understand the sitch but a link is a link is a link. I could post up some racist and porn sites right quick as well you could, but you or I wouldn't because I at least don't dabble in that shit. It is simply a link. I will let Mr. Rex delete it if he wants to. Anyway it is just there.

I'm a big fan of torrents myself (purely for educational purposes of course), but I think the reason torrent links are verboten here is the (slim) chance that some copyright troll will seize on it and shut the forum down and/or demand tons of money. Which would be bad.

I went to snag it off but it is too late to edit. It is up to Mr. Rex now. I still think it just an innocuous link.

Yeah, I'd say the chances of something bad happening is somewhere between slim and none, but it's a nice rule to have, just in case.

Or you could go full tinfoil and say "THE PTB WILL USE THIS AS AN EXCUSE TO SHUT US DOWN FOR TELLING THE TRUTH! ERMERGHAD WARGLEBARGLE!
#JusticeforRigint". :)

What?! Give my hard-earned welfare money to the un-haired one? Preposterous!

I did consider it, but there's so few shows on there that I'm interested in (Bosch and Fortitude), and their latest attempt at a scifi show (Oasis, yet another show full of quasi-religious hokum masquerading as scifi) annoyed me so much that I changed my mind, and I already have Netflix which has The Expanse, so I'm good on the scifi front.

Geez, I consider myself a cheapskate and even I have Prime. I guess if your only use for it is video streaming, then it's true that Prime's selection isn't that great. Of course, they do now have Unsolved Mysteries ;)
