Continental philosophy has been taking communism seriously again to increasingly positive reception and larger audience over the past decade, often tied up with #accelerationism and UBI. See Zizek obviously but also Tiqqun and Bifi etc

Brazile was guilty of this slippage earlier this year on Twitter and she's anything but sloppy. Is that really so coincidental (even if only psychologically associational) when she represents a partisan establishment who've basically chosen to throw their weight behind extremely loud and extremely close social justice concerns (righteous or otherwise) as a bulwark against the specter of communism/socialism having proved a real threat even in the highly dilute variant offered by tepid Bernie Sanders? Witness the Ta Nehisis Coates v Cornel West twitter feud unfoliding right now, for one.

Thanks for that too, LiminalOyster. The bolded parts I agree with in full. As for the rest: Zizek is a sinister clown. Bifi has some interesting things to say. Tiqqun I don't know. The Coates/West thing I have only glanced at (been too busy to follow it in detail), but I am certainly on Cornel West's side. Coates's adulation of that nauseating phoney (and murderous imperialist) Barack Obama is itself nauseating, and deeply revealing in too many ways to list. I applaud Cornel West for raising his voice against it. It was an honorable and brave thing to do. And just look at the reaction he got for it, and from whom! Again, deeply revealing.

[Brazile]represents a partisan establishment who've basically chosen to throw their weight behind extremely loud and extremely close social justice concerns (righteous or otherwise) as a bulwark against the specter of communism/socialism having proved a real threat even in the highly dilute variant offered by tepid Bernie Sanders

Exactly. A bulwark. You know the old adage, "Scratch a liberal, find a fascist"? Well, QED, yet again. Lest we forget: The Dems have supported the blatantly fake War on Terror to the hilt ever since the Enabling Act of September 2001. And it was Obama and HClinton who destroyed Libya and spent years trying to destroy Syria, was it not? The Democratic Party represents brutal neoliberal capitalism -- with a human face mask. If you doubt this, go find yourself a Democrat and try even mentioning the plentiful proof of Obama's and Clinton's countless crimes against humanity. The mask will come off very quickly indeed. The truly absurd anti-Communist hysteria in this thread is further evidence (as if any were needed) that the old adage holds true.

unlike your U.S. government hysteria

I think it would be best if ALL governments could get equal treatment and not hold up St. Putin as the savior of the world...why do you always apologize for Putin?

he has done some bad things ....right?

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.

I see no denial there...isn't that how you feel about him?

Has Putin done anything ANYTHING wrong?

SLAD, I started this thread because I personally wanted just one explicitly meta discussion about #russiagate. I appreciate the huge volume of material you bring very much but since you are so strongly represented in practically every single other thread related to Russia, would you perhaps consider keeping this one free from stuff easily posted elsewhere so as to allow disjunctive material to be discussed without devolving into personal battles? edit: by no means taking any side or assigning sole blame to you, just a practical request.

if Mac posts something I disagree with I will respond to him....other than that I will stay out of your thread as requested

Mac is the one that brought a post from another thread...why are you not requesting him in the same manner

I meant to request that this thread remain a meta discussion*, not that you stay out.

Whether extreme left or right wing nuts, or merely mental extremes, it will be a stretch to blame the covert collusion with Communists by their Commander In Chief on anything but commercial greed, coupled with the compromise of complete envy of another oligarch. A white Russian Federation here would be the Wannabe Don’s wet dream, with himself shirtless upon a white stallion parting the fawning masses.

If only it were as simple as collusion. Evil Bad Guys vs. good good guys. Operative words, traitor and hero (a transitive state, just ask John Kelly). But, they’re all evil guys, and a few gals. I mean, really, deeply, fucking evil. These motherfuckers are all up to their eyeballs in collusion with all kinds of killers, thieves, and rats. You have to freaking pass the sociopath test just to get in their club. Suicidally depressed democrats are hanging on the every word of the likes of Rick Wilson, top candidate for the Carl Rove Asshole of the decade award. And of course John Schindler, former NSA icon, tough guy on a sky’s the limit trajectory who’s career imploded because he sent a dick pic to some woebegone who was in on the frame! Oh, and he just happens to be a regular contributor to Jared Kushner’s Observer. It’s the likes of those guys vs. the likes of Glenn Greenwald, who seems to relish being an asshole to such a degree that one would think it is a competition hes' hellbound determined to win.
None of these shitheads are going to shine a light out of the darkness, no, they’ll only lead us deeper into it. Which is probably the case of 95% of major media voices.
It is a great time to be paranoid, because with just the slightest amount of scratching you can discover all of them are lying. Or at least insist, because someone can say the sky is blue and you won’t have to look too far to find evidence that it is fake news. Because as we all know, the sky isn’t really blue.
The only thing that will work is a mass revolt of utter madness where the devils are hauled from their palaces and garroted on lamp posts.

But it’s not going to happen. Nothing’s going to happen (in a can't stop the Titanic now kind of way)
They want us to think Trump is an anomaly.
Bullshit. He was ordered up on a platter just like rest.
All their drugs are working.
The few that aren’t sleeping are bitching at each other.
