Picking your battles

I am posting this in response to Floyd's wise comment about picking your battles. This is very important. I am starting to realize there is too much information about too many issues to get involved in all of them. I'm floundering around trying to fight against so many things, to a point where I am not truly and deeply knowledgable about any single one of them. So how DO you pick your battles? Do you try and decide which issue is a moral outrage to you? Or do you try and decide which issue is really striking at the root as opposed to the limb? We can chop off all the limbs we want but the corruption trees will continue to flourish. Which battles in American politics do you think are the most important ones and why? I feel that protesting the current election processes are striking at the root of the entire sordid mess and state of affairs in the U.S. However, every time it seems like we are getting some results, there's another staggering defeat. This is an EXTREMELY important time for us to PRIORITIZE. People are dying, fuck UFOs. Know what I mean? Leave the exotica and merely interesting alone and save some lives! The internet is filling up with Pentagon/CIA debris to hide the truth in this haystack and people who want to keep the Nazis from taking the planet MUST FOCUS. WAR and POVERTY are the big killers used by fascism to control and rob us. Figure out how best to strengthen the choir's resistance and GAIN MORE ALLIES who aren't aware of what's up or what to do about it. Use history - know exactly what the hell you're talking about. Use cogent phrases that are portable. Example: Operation Mockingbird is 50 years of government mind control. Look it up. Example: Corporations built the Nazi Party and the CIA who worked together after WWII and stole our country from us. Focus on mass murder and torture because they are the worst human abuses followed by ecological poisoning and economic starvation.

pugzleyca3, please forgive my earlier attempt at humor. You have made a very valid point with your thread. However, your well-posted link tells me that "Rocking the Vote" (MTV Style), etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam, is truly nothing more than my other-thread-posted "videogame". And the game seems rigged even worse than the old early Nintendo cartridges! The whole mess sometimes makes me want to load up my shotgun, my beer cooler, my cigarettes, and set out on old Scotts Creek here in Poormouth, VA in my rowboat, and attempt to become "A NAVY Of ONE". My Dad was ARMY, and he truly could be "An Army of One" when he felt the need. My NAVY would be dedicated to "finding the New World" as opposed to the NWO. I will feel not quite free here, but merely cheap, and quote a line or so from an old song by the Kinks, entitled "Ape Man". "I don' feel safe in this world no more, I don' wanna die in a nuclear war. I wanna sail away to a distant shore, And live like an ape man. I'm an ape man, I'm an ape-ape man, Oh, I'm an ape man. I'm a Voodoo man, I'm a King Kong man, I am an ape man." Gonna search the web for the complete lyrics, circa 1970 or so, and show y'all what we thought about world-wide war back in the day. As California's leading Fascist/Not"Z" says: "Ah'll be bahck!!". Ol' Bad Dog, Muttley OK I'm back, but disappointed and puzzled. What I found was the original poem, on which the popular song was based. Knowing and recalling the original tune and meter, the long, involved poem contains, but doesn't seem to fit the "released" version's lyrics. It is more poem than pop-song, and that's alright, BUT, it is not the "well-known-in-America" version that sailed up the pop charts when I was a mere yout'. Ergo I have forgone to reprint it here. pug, that is the most important question ever posed on this board. Sure does seem like a lot of time wasted on UFO's etc that could be better spent on other topics. Hugh Manatee's point is well taken- educate, educate, EDUCATE your children, your neighbors, friends, co-workers, EVERYBODY about the things you have learned. From the website: By the time President Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 Mae was married with five kids and living in Southern California. Like many Americans, she wasn't convinced that Lee Harvey Oswald had acted alone in the assassination, so she bought the 26-volume Warren Commission Hearings and began reading, filing, and cross-indexing. With the massive addition of books, articles, and government documents, Mae not only found connections to the CIA and Germany, but began to see relationships to many other current and past events throughout the world. She speculated that this might be a training camp for assassination teams – this was more than a year before 913 members of the church were massacred. *But Mae's most shocking crystal ball research was probably her March 29, 1981 evening broadcast when she spent much of the hour listing the reasons she believed the Reagan White House were at war with one another and asked who will kill off their team members first. The following morning President Reagan was shot in Washington D.C. In addition to Mae's close friends and weekly listeners, she corresponded and networked with such people as Jim Garrison, Col. L. Fletcher Prouty, and Larry Flynt. Her first published article in Paul Krassner's The Realist was actually financed by John Lennon. And Frank Zappa once gave her a computer for filing and cross-indexing her research (but she never used it). There were times when death threats drove Mae off the air: once by Charles Manson family member Sandra Good in September 1975. Sometimes Mae resorted to recording her shows at home on her small cassette tape recorder and privately mailed out copies to her subscribers. Many of the articles Mae wrote tackled subjects that to this day remain unparalleled by anyone in the United States. The epitome of Mae's journalism "The Nazi Connection to the John F. Kennedy Assassination" appeared in Larry Flynt's premier issue of The Rebel magazine in November 1983. Her countless list of German and White Russian fascist fingerprints to President Kennedy's assassination reached its peak in May of 1988 when she discovered the name "Adolf H. Schicklgruber" handwritten in Marina Oswald's notebook of poetry in the Warren Commission exhibits. In 1983 Mae's show was picked up by listener-sponsored KAZU FM in nearby Pacific Grove. Five years later she was forced off the air, for the last time, from death threats but continued sending out her weekly tapes to subscribers until June 13, 1988 (tape #862). Mae died of cancer on October 3rd of that year. She was 66.

Also very interesting and prescient,are these excerpts from Mae: (1974!) Twelve and a half million acres of California desert land, stretching from the Mexican border near San Diego to the Sierra Nevada, have been secretly and quickly closed off to all vehicles. "Fear of dune buggies" was the cover story for his act. There should be regular examination of this territory for new fences and structures of any kind. A new $105 million hospital, the most expensive in the world, is being planned for Travis Air Force Base in California. It is located on 82 private acres, inaccessible to most persons. This will be a computerized hospital, designed to include a revolutionary "one-room treatment center." Col. Oliver C. Hood admitted that this "one-stop treatment, laboratory, drug dispensing, examining room may be controversial and not universally accepted at this time." The point should be very clear. Given enough violence, murders, and kidnappings in the U.S.A., the new hospitals, prisons, and airports will be used for mass genocide. There is nothing going on is our economy to assure housing, jobs, or education for minorities. Congress is purposely impounding funds, cutting off school bussing, and denying legal aid for the poor. President Nixon is moving to reduce welfare funds drastically, at a time when job opportunities for minorities are scarce. All steps towards equal opportunity and racial progress are being halted. These actions are said to be the results of the "energy crisis." ~snip~ A series of so-called "Fillmore fires" took place before the killings. They were named after Fillmore Street in San Francisco - a street in the black part of town. CIA arsonists have been known to do such things as burn their own churches, and set fire to many buildings in order to blame "hippies." The association of minorities with murder and arson was achieved. What we are now experiencing is the importation of the dreaded "Operation Phoenix" program into the United States. William E. Colby, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, will be conducting paramilitary operations in order to escalate the necessity for martial law. Through various created and manipulated acts of violence, the only "solution" to "chaos, anarchy, and senseless violent acts" will be a police state. Colby's C.I.A. specialty, the "Phoenix Operation" in Southeast Asia, was known for its torture, political assassinations, mass murders (20,000 to 40,000 civilians), tiger cages, rigged elections, and slanted intelligence. ~snip~ The Hearst kidnapping is the beginning of the reign of terror on our streets. It is part of a deliberate campaign of terror. It will be used to justify larger private police forces, more repression, and larger and more expensive prisons. The most important scare tactic will be to link this kidnapping to worldwide guerrilla movements. ~snip~ (Me) My point being, the things that are happening today were planned a long time ago and disrupted somewhat by Watergate. We can learn a lot by studying our history, and just like Mae, be able to see patterns and discern connections that enable us to educate those around us. I pretty much gave up my poking around into many things which are merely interesting to me in lieu of trying to figure out the game. I used to think politics was boring, but it's the ultimate reality show as far as I'm concerned. I certainly couldn't make this shit up. No apology necessary, I just got back online and saw your other post which I responded to. Don't worry, you're don't have to be a Navy of One, there's plenty of others with you fighting the good fight. Speaking of songs and lyrics, there are a lot of songs coming out about our current state of affairs in this country and though I loathe rap music, I'm happy to see people in that age group (mostly younger people) who are aware of what's going on and are rapping out against it. Good for them, shows me the schools haven't totally wasted their precious minds. (not that they're all young kids, but you know what I mean.)

I had that link saved in my favorites but hadn't had a chance to go check it out, but now that I've read this, it's a must to inhale all that information right away. Thanks a bunch for posting this, someone else had posted this to me awhile back, I don't know why I didn't go there sooner. I've got a few predictions and these I made on another board, but will look like hindsight to the people here. I predicted that nothing will come of the NSA spying operation in the hearings, the people involved will not even get a slap on the wrist for it and it will usher in new and sweeping legislation to give even more power to shrub for spying on people. Well, it's not all hind sight, but some of it is. We'll see how close I am. They're using what I call "sleeper legislation" to numb us to things, delay something until we are overwhelmed with other scandals (oh, aren't there so many?) and slip it in when no one is paying attention. I also predicted a mass permanent displacement of poor people after Katrina hit NO and that their land would basically be stolen by the government and sold off to corporate interests. Isn't that already going on now? And I predict that once the hoopla dies down over this port deal, it will be quietly approved and the media will pretend it never happened. The delay is the cooling down period they use every time there is a huge public outcry about something. I saw the same thing happen when they slid the vaccination and big pharma legislation into the same bill they stuck Anwr into and I watched the media outcry about ANWR and basically zilch about the vaccination thing, which to me was the BIG story. I care about the environment as much as the next guy, but this vaccination law is something that is a clear and present IMMEDIATE danger. I still haven't figured all this out yet, but I believe there will be a bird flu scare, they'll force us to take the vaccinations and if we don't they'll herd us all up into a pen somewhere because the legislation is already in place and waiting for that to happen. Either the vaccinations will kill or turn people into mindless robots they can control. I don't have one damn thing to say that's positive, do I? Well, there is one thing... people are not going to take this on their backs. This whole thing is HUGE if what people (including myself) believe on this board is true. Delegate sections of the puzzle to individual members of a research group who's members are all approved by each other after as much scrutiny as can be applied. You will find the most cogent legal analysis on the internet, and a plan of action to rid us of the menace in Washington. Read his posts from the beginning; he's only been up and running for about 4 months. His logic is nearly infallible, his arguments rock solid, his writing prolific and eloquent. The comments section is full of insightful people as well as Bush Cultists, who are dealt with in the best possible way: their arguments are demolished, but they aren't banned or deleted, making it a very democratic place to be indeed. et in Arcadia ego, I like your suggestions!

I think THE key is the media. Bob Parry has a good take on the history of how the conservatives began a very determined, progressive, and successful takeover of the media following Watergate. I don't know what we here on this board can do, but until the Democratic Party recognizes the extreme importance this of strategic key, they are lost. I'm not talking about trading one partisan media for another, just that the media start getting professional and doing their job, instead of regurgitating Republican talking points. Our electorate is so incredibly uninformed, and much of that is due to the partisan MSM.

All I can say is what caught me by the throat was the pedophile rings, the blackmail with it. That's what drew me to this site with Jeff diving right into it and exposing the rot. It's basic primal response, and I believe everyone knows it in their heart that it is evil. It is a terrible sickness, that needs to be exposed. I believe it is somehow a root of fascism, drug running etc.. and something we all must deal with at all levels of society. For some reason we are capable of dealing with this problem now (as a culture) which is why we are finally become consciously aware of how horrible it has gotten. All the other atrocities are tied into these networks, and there will be little left for excuse for those other obvious lies such as 9/11. Such as the question, why would they do it?
