You didn't use it here, but you have, and will. This is not a high school debate -- it's real life.
"A crooked stick will cast a crooked shadow."

The whole point of my post is that the Truth about 9/11 (criminal negligence at best) isn't as important as the Consequences of 9/11.

I'm not sure if my point went over your head, if you'd rather simply avoid it because you aren't prepared to answer it or if you're merely suffering from cognitive dissonance.

So let me restate my position: Considering all the heinous shit that's been done in the name of the 9/11, why doesn't anybody who still believes the official conspiracy theory at least have the common decency to keep quiet about it?

Quote:
The whole point of my post is that the Truth about 9/11 (criminal negligence at best) isn't as important as the Consequences of 9/11.

I'm not sure if my point went over your head, if you'd rather simply avoid it because you aren't prepared to answer it or if you're merely suffering from cognitive dissonance.

So let me restate my position: Considering all the heinous shit that's been done in the name of the 9/11, why doesn't anybody who still believes the official conspiracy theory at least have the common decency to keep quiet about it?

Indeed, the approach you're using right now is one of those consequences. How can you not have seen that I already understand what you're saying? Yes, yes, I can see what the U.S. government and others are doing, and I don't like it. Can you see yourself as a part of anything besides an imaginary, inept resistance? I guess you don't participate in the world beyond just fucking reacting to it. Like I already said: these things are not a direct result of the events of September 11th, 2001, and you would be wise to make an effort to understand that.

You can make vague stabs at my capacity for comprehension and assume that I'm a victim of "cognitive dissonance" all you want. I got your point, loud and clear. It's not like it's a challenge to understand, so don't go jerking yourself off over your own perceived brilliance. I don't have to prove anything to you or play by the same pantomimic rules you adhere to; so don't blame me if you can't understand what I'm saying because you're too blinded by your own awe at the complex probabilities involved in the actual facts of the matter.

Your position? That's funny. Don't cry oppression and then turn around in the next breath and call for people to have the "common decency" to stifle their own opinions. Nobody should be responsible to keep their mouth shut just to support what you think is the right way to go about things. At no point did I say that I believe any "official" theories -- I don't. If I did, you can bet that I wouldn't be frequenting a forum like this -- I do understand the concepts of decency, and more importantly: futility. You're the one calling for people to fabricate a consensus theory within the community for the sake of some pipe dream of unity which would, in fantasy land -- become the "official" theory. So really, it seems that your aspirations aren't too different from those you rightfully despise.

To me, it looks like you're the one who lacks a sense of decency, or at the very least, patience and integrity.

Keep restating your opinion if it makes you feel better. I'm not asking you to shut up.
"A crooked stick will cast a crooked shadow."

What exactly did you just say?

That I'm a fascist for pointing out that all actions have political consequences?

That I'm naive for thinking that questioning 9/11 anomalies is helpful because -- through some higher thoughtographic process that you can't or won't describe -- you've determined that shutting down questioning of 9/11 anomalies is actually the way to go?

That there is some overall pattern to stuff that only yodas like you are able to comprehend that I (and the rest of us young Jedis) are too dense to realize that actually makes rationally questioning 9/11 anomalies counterproductive?

Or is it the whole idea of even ascribing to any system of ethics in which personal actions are related to their political consequences in any manner whatsoever that you find so atrociously naive?

Do share some of your secret higher wisdom with your faithful initiates, thoughtographer!

Edited by: stickdog99 at: 4/14/06 8:41 pm

A (WE) Need to know basis.

slim,
coming back to your original idea.
It's something that might well happen after the apocalypse. When the survivors are trying to bring some order out of chaos.
But it won't come from where we are right now.

So I'd like to propose something different.
Invert the time allocation.

The trouble with "democracy" as it exists is that our "representatives" do not know us. They spend all their time together, not with us.

As a result they "go native" - native to Westminster and Whitehall.

And it is really no longer necessary.

The idea that each community sends a representative to a central location grew out of ancient conditions.
When travel was by stagecoach, and the fastest form of communication was by carrier-pigeon.

There is no reason at all why our representatives cannot live amongst the people.
They could spend five days a week in their constituency, and two days a week in the capital.
They can stay in touch electronically.

But it won't happen. Because THEY don't want it.
They don't want us to know how they live, who they consult and how theu carry out their responsibilities as a representative of the people.

If I had the power THIS is the change I would force.
And make them accountable to us on a daily basis.
Of every week, every month, every year.

It's the only way to keep them honest.
