Re: flight 93 recordings

I seem to recall that back when the families had some of the flight 93 cockpit tapes played for them they weren't allowed to record it.

And the timeline of the tape offered was wrong. It ended three minutes too early which would leave out the possible contact by an Air Force jet and a shoot down.

See my above post with the air wing from Ohio that would have been the shooters-down. A 44 year-old commander of operations at the base had just died of a heart attack when the article was written just a few months after 9/11.

Hmm.

I thought letsroll911 was a disinfo site.

Any confirmation on this story? Source? Anything?

Seems very unlikely that any acknowledgement would be made like a medal to keep this waaaay under wraps.

The propaganda value of the 'fighting heroes' is way too valuable and the demoralization of a confirmed shoot down is way too dangerous.

So I ain't buying this story. Still looking though....

That search brought up only the same letsroll911 story.

Still not enough to go on.

But I'd like to know more about that commander of operations who had a "heart attack" at age 44.

We all know how out of shape men in the Air Force are.

Let's roll was not the first nor was it the only site to post this story....you like to fasten on one site and say it's 'not reliable' that way, you don't have to broach the facts nor proffer any information of your own.

we've seen that tactic too many times, lately.

regards,

gc

I posted on
1) The air wing that would have been the interceptor that had ammo and a commander of operations dead at 44 of a heart attack right after 9/11.
2) The shortened audiotapes played for the families which didn't match other timelines by three minutes and might have left out the end of the flight.

Not sure how you missed that upthread on one page.
But thanks for the 'Rick' story. I hadn't run into that one before.

What's the source for the claim that the tape was shortened?

There's said to be a three-minute gap from the tape went silent to the time of the crash. Maybe that's true, and maybe that points to it having been shot down.

I can readily believe the plane was shot down, and that this was covered up. That doesn't really do any damage to the "official story" of 9/11 though, it doesn't make the Todd Beamer "let's roll" story untrue either. If anything, it would be an indication that there wasn't a general "stand down order" that day. It may in fact lend credence to the official story, in that regard.

And if this was covered up, it was obviously to use the "let's roll" story for what it was worth.

I agree that whether flight 93 was shot down is largely irrelevant. Yes the govt lied, but did so for a noble reason, etc. So that's a red herring and doesn't really have anything to do with the unanswered questions of flight 93. But it also says nothing about whether there was a "stand down order." In any event, the closest thing to a stand down order that I've seen is what might be an ad hoc order of sorts issued by Cheney for flight 77 or whatever was approaching outside of Washington. The only other thing that might be anywhere close would be the June 2001 change in the regs by Rummy. Other than those, I doubt there were any stand down orders. That's not how you'd screw up the air defenses anyway.
