What keyword or phrase is most subversive to US fascism?

Postby Hugh Manatee Wins » Sat Jun 10, 2006 4:01 am

*Operation Mockingbird*

People need to know that a system of state-controlled press in 'the Land of the Free' has created wars and poverty for 60 years.

That's a powerful way to debunk 'the just war,' too.

There are many lies that fall away once people know the CIA became 'the mainstream media.'

Helluva lotta progress from those two words, I think.

I like that. Mysterious, easy to remember, and anyone who googles that will open a rabbit hole.

I just googled Operation Mockingbird. Nice bunch of hits there, even Wickipedia is right up there on the front page.

I kind of like that one, myself.

I think I would need to put: LOOK IT UP! on the sign, too.

It just doesn't pass the test of reasonableness. Government conspiracy myths have a long history in popular culture, but now kooky ideas spread like wildfire with the millions of Internet users online and few qualified authorities to vet outrageous claims. The Internet just feeds conspiracy claims. In a world of information overload, it's getting harder and harder to separate the wheat from the chaff. This sort of misinformation will only get worse over time.

FB, it would have been cool if you had spouted this rhetoric in your conspiracy class and surveyed the responses.

Re: Two Words

Postby snowlion2 » Sat Jun 10, 2006 7:31 am

Our statewide Democratic Party is using just two words in all their sloganeering and signage for this fall's election. In context, everyone knows what it means, but in your application you might need a little more. I like it though:

"Had Enough?"

How 'bout this one pugzleyca3?

“Those who would sacrifice essential liberties for a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety”
- Benjamin Franklin

You can always paraphrase it to make it more palatable. I saw a stat the other day that said we spend $300,000,000 a day in Iraq. How much do you suppose the Katrina victims get a day? You could add something like that to the sign (hit 'em in the wallet - good soft spot). I commend your efforts pugzleyca3! Good luck on the sign.

I also like "Who would Jesus torture?"

Edited by: thrulookingglass at: 6/10/06 6:40 am

Zoning probs?

Postby Avalon » Sat Jun 10, 2006 10:54 am

Your town may have zoning restrictions or other laws governing signs that may affect you, whether it is commercial speech or private speech. You might want to check into this before putting a lot of time and energy into it.

And the reaction to him was that 90% of the class ate that shit up.

Sign Wording

Postby HMKGrey » Sat Jun 10, 2006 2:00 pm

I'd say something like:

For truth Google: Vigilant Guardian.

I've never seen people's eyes light up like they do once they realize there really was a bunch of exercises going on on 9/11. It seems to be a pretty devastating thing for people to realize. A real pradigm shift because it just opens up all kinds of doubts and questions. It also exposes the media and the Democretins in a split second too.

Of course, you could also go with the tried and tested:

"You can stick your Patriot Act up my arse."

That'll get you some attention.

It would be very good if whatever system you set up could be changed, kept fresh.
