. If only 'everyone' was onboard with rooting out corruption (of course most will say they are, but those that thrive amid corruption will remain. They won't vanish, unfortunately... that's why I suggest the "Fuck the Party System" Party... or better yet, "Fuck the System!" Party. Once this party wins and takes over, it'll replace the current broken system with a NEW platform underpinned with ideals that benefit the majority... until such time, inevitably, when corruption manages to infiltrate and infest the new system, and we return again to the familiar laments. No worries however: this is all very much a pipe dream -- current system ain't goin' nowhere. Unless, of course, TRUMP or Clinton inspire so much vitriol during their reign of terror that it manages to UNIFY the PEOPLE to scream in unison: "NO MORE!", followed by a nationwide revolt. In which case: Go Trump! Go Clinton!)
American National Democratic Party. Or why not completely be the same party Canada and America combined. Get rid of the borders in North America completely. We'd start from there. In truth there really are no borders.
Or just use the Canadian name 'New Democratic Party'. And I think I'd like to keep the borders, thanks. Do you really think Canadians or Mexicans would like to live under FULL-spectrum American dominance?
Well seeing that I live in the states and close to Canada, I consider Canada to be a place that is my neighbor (neighbour) but also traveling (travelling) back and forth needlessly prohibitive. The Costco in Bellingham, WA supposedly is the busiest in the chain, or was, or something. Borders are old and stupid. The cultures will remain intact. Most every fave band of mine is Canadian or British. We are already assimilated. Look at the NHL. NBA. The only thing that won't translate well are the CFL's rules to the NFL. Anyway. . .

Don't worry, the US has been very busy trying to assimilate Canada into the US. Just look at the Harper administration. That seriously seemed to have been orchestrated by the neocon US government.

My sense of partisans on both "sides" of America's kayfabe is that they want to be right and they want to win. Actually knowing things is not a priority, nor, certainly, is fixing their country in any meaningful sense -- they just know things need to happen and they happen when you win by being right.

Succinct/astute -- a compact summary for the human condition generally, at least with respect to the modern-day lay (and not so lay) American.
When I've posted about reddit stuff before, a number of people have responded that they find the site too confusing. I agree it can be hard to navigate around in it -- but bookmarking one subreddit to check regularly, or subscribing if you have a reddit account, is simple and informative.
The Bern the Convention 2016 subreddit was formed just three days ago and is already close to 5000 subscribers. It's dedicated, as you might suspect, to planning by Bernie supporters for the Democratic National Convention. Affinity groups are being set up. There are plans for protests both in Philly and elsewhere. A variety of graphics are being made available.
There's also a Facebook group and a website for the protest march, but the reddit group seems to be where the serious strategizing is happening.

Because "corruption" is a meaningless way of putting it, of course. It's apolitical. It assumes that some lack of virtue is the problem, and if only everyone did their job things would be good. In fact, we have a system that for the most part is problematic because of the way it functions as intended. I suppose we can describe the legalized bribery of campaign financing, lobbying and the revolving door, and regulatory capture as "corruption." Or we could do the same for the media system owned by six corporations and financed by advertising, or all the other cartel arrangements that govern economy and politics. Except all of these things are (mostly) legal and predictable expressions of how the system of political economy is designed and has developed. The idea of corruption is used to criminalize small-potatoes and evade the systemic, or even at best creates some Nixon myth about how the malady is due to the personal rot of individuals.

Oh my god, dude. This is just not so. Not my experience. People are mostly smart within their contexts. They tend to be very good at mastering the tasks of their lives. They tend not to be very intellectually courageous and to prefer paradigms for the world that they don't need to revise. All that. But morons is really harsh, and even with me as this board's leading misanthropist it makes me worry about you.

Please take this as a compliment: you're not even in the top ten here for that particular category. I don't think I am, either. Nurture that hope, bud.
Despite the mainstream media’s repeated assertions that the Bernie Sanders movement is now a thing of the past, enthusiasm from his base only seems to be growing, based on the overwhelming number of people who flocked to his rally in Sacramento this Monday night.
Dave @fastlife3o5 This is what 21,000+ looks like at a Bernie Sanders rally in Sacramento #BernieInSacramento #FeelTheBern #bernie2016 1:36 AM - 10 May 2016
Supporters lined up for over four hours to see Senator Sanders outside Bonney Field — some of them even longer. The following video [at link] by Our Voice Media shows the massive scope of the line, as the videographers take several minutes to drive from one end of the line to the other.
Somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 people were estimated to have been packed inside the stadium, with more than 10,000 more continuing to wait outside.
The hashtag #BernieInSacramento quickly exploded onto the top trends on Twitter, and yet the mainstream media once again chose to ignore the massive influx of support and unprecedented turnout. The only outlet that covered the rally was local Sacramento NBC affiliate KCRA-3.
Below is the only picture attached to the article, obviously taken before the rally as people were still entering the field:
