And I believe you did so honestly, freely, and candidly. Doesn't that answer your question, to some extent?
Sure. But not as definitively as having the thread locked did. Because, again, that sure shut me up. And, again, it was owing to your persistent refusal to hear any of the numerous warnings that your response to my free speech was objectionable-bordering-on-intolerable that ultimately made it impossible for me to speak. And I guess you might argue that you're the one who was being silenced, not me, since it was the impermissibility of your speech that effectively silenced both of us.

But I'd say that argument's more or less like saying: I'm really the one who was killed in that fiery crash, because, after all, I'm the one who ignored the signs and drove the car off the cliff.

compared2what? wrote:I fully admit you didn't tell me to shut up directly. You told me that if I didn't experience your assigning women (of which I am one) a role in the world in which I had no agency wrt my own identity or my own desires as an enjoyable compliment, I was in need of a metaphorical deep-dicking. If there's a way of reading that which doesn't equate to: You, c2w, are unqualified to speak for what women want, although you are a woman. Because your identity as a woman is false, inadequate, and incomplete. Which -- despite being problems of female identity can only be resolved after that identity has been metaphorically deeply penetrated by something hard and masculine, which I have and you don't.
You are 100% qualified. But the suggestion to get some metaphorical deep-dicking was just that: Metaphorical. Meaning, I felt you could use some metaphorical deep-dicking by the metaphors. The porn clip was one such metaphor. Not just a metaphor, but it was also a metaphor. I don't assign any gender to metaphors, perhaps you do. If anything, aren't they a little female? Like, associative? Anyway, if you did understand that and are now talking about my assigning some kind of extra-special role to women to play in the world because they're a little bit better than men on the whole, regardless of whether the women themselves want it or enjoy the compliment of being a little bit superior: Yes, I most certainly am. With that small measure of superiority comes a small measure of extra responsibility. In essence: Women are the chosen people. If, after (IMO) rightly assessing the situation, pointing it out in strongly worded exhortations and metaphors is a hard and masculine thing, so be it -- if that's what it takes for women to realize what the situation is, then I totally stand by my suggestion to get deep-dicked. I totally stand by my right to say it, anyway, without being called things I am not and accused of things I'm not doing.
That's not exactly "Shut up." It's more like, "La-la-la, I can't hear you, NOW LISTEN TO ME AND LISTEN GOOD, LITTLE LADY. I KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. AND IF YOU KNEW WHAT' WAS GOOD FOR YOU, YOU'D STOP ARGUING AND LET ME (or my surrogate) GIVE IT TO YOU." Which actually has more scope than just telling me to shut up would, since it silences what I said retroactively, as well as invalidates anything I might say in the future, assuming I didn't feel that the environment was too hostile to my voice for it to be a good idea for me to continue speaking.
Again with the feelings, please ignore them. Please focus on the situation. Rationally. Is my exhortation to take over the world soon because it might end otherwise really so offensive that you need to assert your right to ignore it and deconstruct it like Lacan? You have the right to ignore it. Of course. But really now. Let's get real. I'm not saying men can't help you -- no, men are morally obliged to help you. If you knew what was good for us, you'd choke down the urge to protest the little typical-male-pig unconscious indiscretions I might be guilty of in reality, and just focus on the situation, and figuring it out. Put your earmuffs on, if you need to. Stuff your ears with wax like Odysseus and just read the text. If you need to. I'm on my (ugh, okay, no unnecessary swears) knees saying "What do you need????" and you're wasting time nagging me about nebulous decorum? That time could be much better spent nagging the world. I'll help!
And if you don't know that in any context outside of consensual sexual role play, women understand men who tell them what they need is a good hard fuck, metaphorical or otherwise, to be either reminding them who has the metaphorical and actual weight advantage at best or, at worst, threatening them, there's no time like the present for you to learn it. So please take my word for it that they do.
Okay, sorry for the unintentional reminder. But frankly, some women really do benefit from a deep-dicking. You, my friend, my metaphorical sister, may not be one. I apologize, if so. And yes of course, even the women who need one, perhaps get turned off by being reminded they need one. So...if you ever need one: Just say so, order me, demand one, or just make it so yourself. Deep-dick yourself!
In short, you didn't tell me to shut up. You just made it both uncongenial and impossible for me to speak and be heard.
Perhaps. But 99% of the misunderstanding is yours. Trust me.
Although later in the same post, you endorse the idea that asking a woman what she wants is a good way to demystify the feminine. Which is commendable. You have to be willing to listen to the answer you get with at least some gesture in the direction of being receptive to it, though. Without that, there's not really a whole lot of point in asking.
I...we...have little or no time to waste on pleasantries and feeling-protection and showing false receptiveness to misguided ideas about the situation, and especially totally bogus ad hominem claims. So fu...orget asking: Just fucking tell us. Please. And then I'll tell you. And then you'll tell me. And there'll be conflicts and misunderstandings, but if we ignore the feelings, if we ignore the supposed importance of identity (I absolutely loathe identity politics of every kind, FYI) then maybe we can figure shit out quick enough to get something good done.
In any event, ultimately you made it impossible for me to speak in more concrete terms, by continuing to act out without regard to what I or anyone else told you was objectionable about that until the thread was locked. That sure shut me up. And you too, of course.
But here we are. Thank you.

Look, this isn't a courtroom, but let's pretend it is for a second. You've surely had cases in which you came to conclusions while building a case, conclusions that didn't quite add up. And so you looked at the evidence again, you sifted through a transcript with a fine comb, did some lateral thinking, and what do you know: You had missed this really important aspect all along. Please take another look at the locked thread. Take a look at everything I've ever said on this board, if you have the time (not much if you do). Pretend you're my defense attorney, and the only way I'll be acquitted is if you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that I'm not only not guilty, but innocent. Not only an innocent man, but possibly an exculpatory witness for mankind in separate cases -- and you're one of the defendants in those cases, you're a man too.

Please let me say again that I don't accuse you, judge you or find you guilty. I'm just trying to speak of and for myself. Also, incidentally, I'm not an attorney. I just know some law. And also, I have to take off for the night, for real. But I'll continue to read and seek to understand what you say when I return. I trust and know you will do the same for me. Because I do want this to be a civil exchange, and not just so that it won't be a locked thread. Not even primarily so that it won't be. It's mostly because I don't want to be the cause of distress to others any more than I want others to cause me distress. And in that regard, which isn't exactly an unimportant one, we do at least want the same thing.

So if you're distressed, please undistress yourself. All right? I'm absolutely positive that we can continue to totally fail to effectively communicate with one another other calmly just as well as we could if we were both highly agitated! Why, it's so crazy, it just might work!

There's a video clip of John Lennon and Yoko Ono on the Dick Cavett show where John expounds on how Yoko finally made him see that "Woman is the nigger of the world."
And then John does the song he just wrote about that.

Hasn't changed despite a token fascist enabler here and there like Rice, Pelosi, Harman.

CIA media made women the anti-heroes as foil to the Sacred Male Warrior hero after WWII.
This has caused an unimaginable amount of domestic violence against women and children as a result plus the horrors of war and torture.

Gender issues are where peace and justice start.
Both Pete Seegar and Utah Philips, old and decently evolved men, said this on Amy Goodman's show recently.
CIA runs mainstream media since WWII:
news rooms, movies/TV, publishing

I'm assuming everyone has read this interview, and if not do so now:

Much of it relates to the topic, I think.
It helps to be a Beatles fan.

no, women do not have equality. expressed racialism, racial attacks verbal or physical are a crime in the uk. as an example of the absurdity of the situation, a young woman of my acquaintance is being harassed to the point of being driven out of her home by young men of a different 'race', with extreme sexist behaviour, which origins in part in their religious take on women's place, mode of dress etc. this is no less offensive, socially destabilising or wrong than ganging up and seeking to humiliate, offend or harm someone because of their colour, or belief system, but until the extreme and threatening unpleasantness becomes actual violence, there is no recourse. surrounding someone when they come out of the house and calling them by unpleasant, lewd, and distressing sexual terms doesn't have the same response in law as calling them by a racially offensive term.

The principal use of threads such as those described is to flush out of the woodwork those who harbour prejudice against women, or whose confusion between sexuality and power is such that they project onto persons unable to express a free choice their own responses. (e.g. the subjects of pornography obligingly smiling to camera)

That was the point of posting the clip. So people could see for themselves, and even object to my interpretation if they feel different. But, it was that obvious: She enjoyed it, thoroughly. And she never turned her face to the camera, sorry. The sounds and body language alone was enough to tell it was authentic enjoyment. She was too busy enjoying herself to give a damn about the camera's gaze. Sometimes women do enjoy sex. That does happen. "Perverted" sex, even. Is it that objectionable a reality, women? I think not. Explain why it is, if you think it is. Please. We need to hear from more women. Women who make a genuine effort to understand. How about reading where I describe what porn I personally like, and how exceedingly difficult it is to find, and why that bothers me. Undress your preconceptions first, though. (Sorry C2W, I'm trying.) (Sorry blanc, but this is about assessing the situation, not respecting you for what you've been through, which I do.)

On the whole, Monsieur le Six-ana-Half here just sounds exactly like the classic southie wifebeater, no matter how enlightened he may be on the truth of women's oppression and their most streamlined avenues of escape from that oppression. The language is plainly insulting. My attempt there to give 4B a taste of that flavor was, I'm sure, a fucked up thing to do and made me look and feel like an idiot. That's really not who I wanna be. But on clear issues of simple oppression, lines get drawn.

Maybe my line was crudely drawn and gauche. I think G.M. and FB know what that line is, and they cross it purposely, sneakily, rudely, and, saddest of all, inadvertantly - and that's the worst, because you can see they really hold some deep-seated and wrongful, hurtful feelings on the subject, likely because they were hurt themselves and badly. It's a shame to feel hurt. You can't ignore the feelings, though. You can't go around hurting other people, and it does hurt when you talk the sexist and violent language of the oppressor. In fact, that language is all that is required to be "the man" rather than a man.

Everyone's pain is valid. If you can't talk without causing hurt, there's a problem, and its time to examine your speech and exhibit some self control. If you can't and you genuinely harbor the dangerous feelngs you have put on display, I just feel obligated to comment. 'Cause this is an anti-fascist board, right?

Ohhhh, yeah, baby.

The point, of course, is that the women you want to hear from are effectively driven away by the language you've chosen, and your sophomoric point of view. Sorry to be such a nag.

He gets me like that all the time.

I have no comment on the subjects discussed so far in this thread, as everything speaks pretty well for itself from where I sit.
