Ahhh yes ... one of my faves: Zombie-Killer-Velma

I like this version but it obscures the side-mounted chainsaw ports:

I think it was someone here who first brought my attention to the pic. When I looked for copies online I noticed at least 2 versions. I like the placement of Velma in the one I posted but as I said, it lacks the double chainsaw slits on the side.

Meanwhile ... more Zombie Monster Car Rally pics!!!

New face-eating ‘bath salts’ attack in Louisiana

...

Credeur said that he was working in his yard when Jacquneaux, reportedly upset about a “domestic matter,” attacked him and, in the words of Scott, Louisiana Assistant Police Chief Kert Thomas, “bit a chunk of the victim’s face off.” Credeur defended himself by spraying “wasp spray” into Jacquneaux’s face, ending the attack.

I was just wondering myself how often the folks in the county jail are likely to have growled at their captors throughout history, and were even still spared the accusational insult of being called the walking undead. I just growled at my cat for fun and he threatened to call Arianna Huffington because that shit doesn't fly in 2012.

I long for a more civilized future when banshees, tulpas, or gozers are in fashion again. What about the tulpa apocalypse? Can we start this trend now? Why are we more satisfied with Haitian legends and midcentury americana? Has there ever been a banshee horror screenplay?

This is why I fear self-fulfilling prophecies. You know some idiot is going to pull something stupid this December because they think it "must."

Yes, a Tulpa-Apocalypse IS the mechanism for manifesting a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Perhaps its HMW's revenge...

Latest 'zombie' eating attack: Man under the influence gets naked, bites off chunk of man's arm

PALMETTO, Fla. - The latest in a string of “zombie” like attacks happened in a Manatee County home Wednesday night after a man under the influence went into a fit of rage and bit a piece of someone’s arm off during a visit with his children.

Much like the Miami face-eating attack, 26-year-old Charles Baker got naked, ate human flesh and wouldn’t go down without a fight, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

Authorities say Baker went to his girlfriend’s home on 25th St in Palmetto to visit his kids at 10:15 p.m. They say he was high on an unknown substance when he knocked on the door, then barged in, began yelling and taking off his clothes.

Storyline: A yoga instructor from California goes to Afghanistan to find her fanatical brother, a conspiracy theorist who is convinced that Osama Bin Laden isn't really dead and wants to kill him (a bit like that American guy who went hunting Bin Laden with a sword). It turns out that Osama isn't dead after all... he's undead! And he is raising a zombie army of insurgents that it's totally okay to kill and mutilate and dismember and explode because they aren't really human anyway.

Public officials in Maine and Miami take steps against zombie apocalypse

By David Ferguson

In Bangor, Maine, a coalition of first responders and emergency workers from eight eastern Maine communities came together on Thursday to prepare for the “zombie apocalypse,” reports Bangor’s NBC affiliate station WLBZ, Channel 2. Firefighters, police and health care workers took part in the day-long exercise, which was staged by the Northeast Maine Regional Resource Center (NMRRC), according to the Maine Sun-Journal.

The operation was intended as a lighthearted way to answer questions that could turn deadly serious in the event of an actual killer flu pandemic or other real-life emergency.

Representatives of the Maine National Guard, nurses, firefighters, amateur radio operators and representatives of public health and safety organizations like the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention posed questions like, “How would an outbreak of pandemic disease first present itself? What first responders and government agencies would be responsible for attempting to contain it? How would vital resources be transported and distributed to citizens in need? Who gets priority if there isn’t enough medicine to go around?”

For example, the unlikely but possible eventuality that Occupy protests or some other political uprising should grip the majority of residents. In fact, likelier in the near term than an "actual killer flu pandemic." All state preparedness is also preparedness against revolution.

Well, something sure-as-fuck is up. Not an actual "zombie apocalypse," mind you (that already happened during the Reagan Administration, just that the zombies wore dark suits, white shirts, and red ties — and sequels are so boring), but... something.

Anyway. I just went to the bank. Outside the bank was a white-haired man in his mid to late sixties, dressed in business-casual style, lying with his legs in the street, his butt in the gutter (a fairly powerful descriptor of U.S. banking policy, actually...), and the rest of him on the sidewalk. His hands were outstretched to the sky, and the repeated up-and-down movements he was making with his hands made it appear as if he were trying to pump that aforementioned sky (a fairly powerful descriptor of where many men in their mid to late sixties are at with [content excised]...). By the time I could safely stop the car, and get out to check to see if the guy was okay, he was already halfway down the street, running like crazy.

And while he probably wasn't a zombie, he was... uh, weird.

My coworker and two friends were barked at on their bikes by a completely naked man, in broad daylight, in the middle of the city yesterday.

‘K2′ blamed after Texas man tries to eat dog in ‘zombie style’ attack

By Stephen C. Webster
Tuesday, June 26, 2012 10:33 EDT

A 22-year-old man in Waco, Texas was arrested on Monday after a bizarre episode in which police claim he tried to eat his family’s dog in a “zombie style” attack.

Michael Terron Daniel was charged with felony animal cruelty after an unnamed caller told police he was “going crazy” at his family home on Monday night around 6:30 p.m.

...

“Mr. Daniel then ran into the yard where he was observed to get on his hands and knees and chased a neighbor while barking and growling like a dog,” police said. “Mr. Daniel was then observed to take a live medium sized, black dog onto the front porch where he began to strike the dog, strangle the dog and began to bite into the dog ripping pieces of flesh away from the animal. The dog died at the scene.”

Daniel was found at the scene covered in blood and fur, the dog’s body strewn across his lap. He also allegedly asked police to either fight him or use their Tasers on him to break him out of the bad trip. They instead called paramedics and left him in the custody of medical professionals. An arrest was made the following morning without incident, the report says.

K2 used to be a fair dinkum strain of pot but I don't know of anyone ever getting aggro, or movement back for hours, after using it.
