In that case, I absolutely must add a mug.

:bigsmile

I don't know why I avoided the underwear, it seemed redundant somehow.

I registered today for your site/exhibit!

I also got to give your website info to a group of young women performing excerpts from the 'vagina monologues ' out on red square today. :)

My fave underwear:

It's absolutely not. I mean, you have a nightshirt. Hold up your arms while wearing naught but that, and you're only off by a couple feet. We're talking one more half-step towards the most self-evident placement possible without a buzzing needle and some ink.

I, for one, would be delighted to peel away some tight pair of jeans to find a thong thus adorned, awaiting me like an ancient signpost warning "Here be thee winged wishbone".

Which I would read as "I have a clit, and it's beautiful, and you may do with it as I please."

Thong it.

I've never seen a striped one before. Maybe I need to get out more.

I would totally buy the thong & t-shirt!

Now, it is the Thursday artwalk in May, is it? It's the first Thursday of the month? So, May 3rd is this happening? I'm taking my pal to the Black Keys on the 9th of that month for her birthday, but I really, really wanna plan to come for this one. :D

^Yes, May 3.

Do come. I'm hoping a few other RI folks will attend, and Twyla will be here with her work.

..........

This week I wrote to Judy Chicago and received a lovely note back from her via her assistant.

I have one artist making a giant clitoris out of neon that will go in our front window. And what's odd is that when the city shut down our beloved neighborhood arts building this past fall, the only item I took home from the piles left by a hundred displaced artists was a giant, triangular canvas. I kid you not. I've got to get some paint on that thing!

This is all too much fun.

.

This didn't start out this way, but you do realize you're tapping into a potential gold mine?

You could invite lots of other artists and organise a group exhibition and call it Clitical Mass.

No, seriously.

It seems the hive mind of RI is developing a lot of nerve endings around the collective clitoris.

Which is cooool

I never learned how to speak money, but I think I know what you mean. I am very good at expressing trauma and making difficult imagery, but friendly, attractive, iconic images, not so much. I'm fairly certain that's what is needed for this thing to really catch on. Is that what you meant? I do have it in mind to give it another go regardless, we'll see what emerges. B., chime in here.

If anything has potential for bringing in money, I usually miss it or mess it up. I've spent countless hours on projects like these and like most artists I do them for the shear joy or because I believe the idea or information being communicated is important, or there is some other intent, but money is rarely a consideration. I get a great deal of non-monetary support for what I do, and I measure my success in how people respond. It's just unfortunate that admiration and gratitude don't pay the internet bill which is about get cut off any day now.

So if you were thinking along some other line, please, nudge me in that direction. :bigsmile

That's exactly what I'm doing Mac. After Dinner Party is an exhibit, performances and party, as well as a city wide event where participants will either wear or somehow represent the shape of the clitoris in public.

*Not to mentíon art. Let's not get too cocky here. Look at the state of fucking art in 2012. By comparison, even science looks healthy. [/quote]

Present artists excepted. :)
I really like "Clitical Mass."
