Liberalism is dead or it will be pronounced dead shortly, it appears. Do not mourn its passing. Socialism or Barbarism from here on in, Folks

I don't think disenfranchised, angry & stupid white voters in the flyover states qualifies as a cabal.

I did two interventions in my fucking kitchen tonight, please just tell me if I need to read the past 6 pages.
Edited to add the appropriately regal .jpg

I more or less thought that was what was going on.
Many of the moneyed establishment GOP and neocon GOP supported Hillary Clinton.
Recall the narrative where Bill Clinton asked Trump to run against Hillary Clinton.
That list of potential Trump cabinet members you posted are a cold stab.
Now I think that the political outsider versus the Washington DC insider had more bearing than expected.

It's been civil but morose for the most part.

No, actual doom seems to strangely pacify paranoid conspiracy theorists.

It is a comfort to me in these emotionally-challenging times to imagine the expressions on the faces of Bill Maher, Arianna Huffington, John Oliver, and Lena Dunham.

Interventions on people I have known for years, seriously concerned about the reality of a Trump win.
Heavy psychological turbulence tonight.
Thanks everyone.

Well, it's been years since I last posted here. I've been more or less faithfully lurking, however. (Chronic shyness!)
But this crazy evening brings me out here. My sympathies have been with you, SLAD, and if the worst happens tonight, I grieve already over the horrors to come. Especially the Supreme Court. The two houses of Congress and the Presidency in the hands of Republicans? And the Supreme Court filled by Republicans? The damage is incalculable...
I can barely get my head around all the suffering to come, and the geopolitical cataclysms to come. if Trump wins, as it looks like he will.
I know there are those here who have been interested in seeing the rupture that Trump will bring, and I have trouble understanding that. But I want you all to know that I still value Rigourous Intuition as a community after all these years, and in the months and years to come I hope that the community will continue to remain one where members can support each other.
Well, that's all. I don't want to start rambling now...it's a sad night for me. May we all pull together in the months and years to come.

Remember the joy when Nixon resigned? I danced in the streets as soon of the paper hit the newstands. I kept that paper with the "Second Coming" huge headline over the fold.
Too bad more justice didn't follow.
