Heh, a message I received from, I presume, one of the producers of the film.

Their site was hacked and they need some help:
Dear Gang, we need some help.

if you are on a PC you might have noticed some issues with our website recently.

We have been getting some Trojan horse virus warnings - it seems that PC users are crashing when they go there - we are currently at SXSW in Austin and getting tonnes of daily hits, so we are trying to fix it fast!

We really need some help! If any of you out there might be able to help us fix it, we would be grateful forever!

Please email us direct at info@americanthemovie.com if you can or know someone who does.

We'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Amazing how much more marketable people like Bill Hicks become after they're dead, when someone else can control the narrative and message. Under the circumstances, I doubt Bill Hicks would give a shit if anyone saw this movie or not. I don't think necrophilia was his thing.

Letterman (CBS), for example...

Just so people know, Bill's mother and brother were both at the screening here in Austin the other night and both very supportive of this film.

So what is the "narrative and the message", then? Anyone here seen the film? YOU seen the film, bks?

After forcing myself into a ridiculous and lengthy seizure about this film a few weeks ago, I now have unwound, and I've heard that it's actually quite good. A pretty good film, is the consensus view of the viewers. The makers of the film, in unison with the viewers of it, and Mark Kermode, all say it's a pretty good film.

It's got Bill Hicks in it, apparently. Sounds like a good film to me. He liked a drink.
