Yes, I was going to suggest that he might have sent her an email or other communications that made her or someone on her staff check out the youtube channel. Even if the staff knew his name an hour after the shooting, how likely is it that they would have tracked down his youtube channel? That took of bit of investigative work.

Hang on a second... I thought we were establishing that the subscription must have happened before the shooting. Because someone from her office checking Loughner out before the massacre would be interesting. (After the shooting would not be very interesting no matter how weird we thought it was.)

Yes, before. As a result of communication from the shooter. Who knows how long before, though. There are now reports that her office was in touch with him as early as 2007.

when you mouseover the subscribe button, a tooltip says "click to be notified of new videos from this channel"
So it seems possible that whoever subscribed was intending to monitor this guy's channel, and didn't fully realize that the subscriptions box was on their own channel's homepage...
Seems to indicate that they had some contact with the shooter, and were probably concerned about him being a potential threat.
I hope they find his controller (maybe the bluejeans, blue jacket guy).

This was apparently his taxi driver.

yeah I was just going to edit that
Police said they were also looking for a white male approximately 40-50 years old with dark hair, possibly associated with the primary suspect. On the morning of January 9, they released a security-camera photo in which he appears.[40] Later that day, Pima County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Ogan said the man was a cab driver who drove the gunman to the grocery store where the shooting occurred. Ogan said the man went into the store because the gunman apparently had not paid his fare, and that the Sheriff's department had determined that the cab driver was not otherwise involved in the shooting.

In terms of youtube manners, if someone hits subscribe on your channel, many would then click subscribe back. Sorry if i have missed the timeframe details, but is it possible that Loughner had subscribed to her youtube channel earlier on, and then the youtube admin person had just done a subscribe back? Does Loughner's youtube channel show a subscription to hers?
Very interesting find..
EDIT -
Just re-read, i didn't realize her channel is only subscribed to 2 people, one being Loughner. So the above is highly unlikely.
Looking at his favorites, I saw he added this video also but under a different account.

Has anyone got a clear answer yet?
If this subscription happened around the time of the event its quite possible people knew who he was and his youtube channel and checked to see if he'd left a last message.
This killing gets weirder by the second, and its catching the imagination the way 9/11 did.

I think it was established that the subscription was made at least 2 days before Sunday afternoon; at least a day before the shooting.
Did anyone manage to take a screenshot of this? It's been scrubbed.

I've seen on another blog that Loughner was known for making threats, but never arrested because his mother was a government employee. Will try to find the link.

right wing bullshit to smear the sheriff, who's said some very accurate things about right-wing media personalities.

So becuz he's said some things you are in agreement with re: "right-wing media personalities" that means he and his office / officers couldn't possibly have received multiple warnings from others about Loughner nor actually arrested him previously (on paraphernalia charges) as has been alleged?
EDIT TO ADD:
Jared Loughner has been making death threats by phone to many people in Pima County including staff of Pima Community College, radio personalities and local bloggers.
Of course the about page for that site (Cholla Jumps) is interesting...
