The police scanner has identified the suspects as Mike Mulugeta and Sunil Tripathi. The latter has been missing for about 3 weeks and was on the news.

One of the suspects is now dead, the other is still at large.

My neighborhood is close enough to where the Watertown shootout took place that I've been hearing the sirens (and what sounded like the occasional helicopter) all night.

I looked at this thread first and didn't realize that all the breaking news about the Watertown madness was already being posted in the Boston Marathon thread.

There is just way too much "news" happening in this area this week.
