There are two major-party candidates in an essentially two-party system. One says he wants better relations with Russia and condemns the Iraq war, and one says she wants to antagonise Russia and has supported Iraq-like wars since Kosovo without exception.
Now, the first guy is a blowhard and a weirdo and a liar and all that, and there is a huge chance he might not come through on the two all-important reversal-of-the-neocon-era platforms... but his opponent definitely won't. She has been on the opposite side of each for decades.
For Americans, it's fair to say 'yeah, well he also has a lot of domestic policies that are shit and hers are better' and make the 'foreign policy is only one part of it' argument... but on the straight anti-neocon foreign policy angle, he's still better than she is.
wonderfully simply stated. i would add that (not for purposes of hating your neighbor depending on who they intend to vote for) foreign policy trumps (omg i'm so pathetically sorry) domestic. the tax rake goes to war first. there's no way to spin that. and no way to fix it other than put a stop to it. do what you can or are willing to do under threat to your life from "our" state, red, white, and blue patriotism and all.
If I was blind and I could not see Would you lend a hand to try and help me Life is full of ups and down you can't Face them wearing a frown tell your mind To be cool brother man free your soul Don't be no fool Truth gonna set you free Truth gonna set you free Truth gonna set you free Whoop, Whoop, Whoop Ba-Ba-Ba Booie, Booie Yeh, Yeh, Whoa Yeh- Said I, I wasn't gonna tell nobody, but I just Couldn't keep it lord, lord to myself, so I put My soul in motion, got true love and devotion Put my trust in the man cause he's the only one Who can give you Truth gonna set you free Truth gonna set you free Truth gonna set you free You've gor to be yourself and let yourself be Felt, cause if you wanna be free whoop whoop who Ba, ba, ba, booie, booie, yeh, yeh, yeh whoa ye Someday it's gonna be all-right sho'as the sun shines down it's gonna be all-right. Does the law actually matter?
Well, the law itself is not ambiguous. But the application certainly is.
Unless Clint Eastwood is on the motherfucker!
Mitch Leary: What's kept you in the game all these years?
Frank Horrigan: Why don't we get together and have a drink? We could talk about that.
Mitch Leary: Oh, I'd love to, but I think the less you know about me the better.
Frank Horrigan: Oh, why?
Mitch Leary: Because I'm planning to kill the President.
Frank Horrigan: Oh, now you shouldn't have gone and said that. It's a federal offense to threaten the President. You could go to jail, even if you don't mean it.
Mitch Leary: I mean it all right. John F. Kennedy said all someone needs is a willingness to trade his life for the President's, right?
Frank Horrigan: That's right.
Mitch Leary: I'm willing.

Just curious, of all the Trump supporters you know, do any of them have relatives living in the US that are undocumented immigrants?
I'm asking you specifically because, like you, I work in Los Angeles, but unlike you, I don't know anyone who is supporting Trump. Most of my co-workers are Latino, some college educated, all blue collar and union. Trump scares the fucking shit out of them because they all know someone, whether relatives or not, that could potentially in a Trump administration face a goddamn deportation squad.
Just testing my personal hypothesis that the vast majority of Trump supporters do so because they're blinded by white privilege.
Trump says anything and its opposite. The first fact always about him is that he is an experienced, TV-trained professional confidence man very forthrightly playing a professional confidence man playing a presidential candidate -- the WWE version of Mussolini as a fake billionaire. (If you need to be told that, it's kind of pointless for me to bother, but here I am again.) About all he doesn't do is to break fourth wall, House of Cards style, for a monologue about how stupid everyone following him is. Wait, he did that a couple of times too -- he could shoot a guy on Fifth Avenue and they'd still love him, he loves the poorly educated -- and you're still falling for any of his more "leftish" or "peaceful" statements as though they have even the face value. For thinking that Trump in office would mean any deviation in whatever's on the MIC program for the next four years, you are total patsies. And how stupid do you think he is, seriously? He's not going to take on the Deep State while sleeping in their bedroom, he's going to protect Number One. The foreign policy "president," also at a safe remove from operational decisions, will be Pence -- Mr. "Christian first, conservative second, Republican third." Trump will spend the time decorating the Trump House with Melania on The Trum(p)an Show (the runaway number one show in the Kardashian-Springer demographic) while issuing daily pronouncements inciting official, mob and individual acts of violence against foreigners, the foreign-looking, demonstrators, deviants, "urban youth," subhumans and other un-Americans. The "constitution" fetishists among you are funny in blocking out how this guy has announced that it's a great document but not a suicide pact! (I guess a couple of you may be looking forward to the Great Mexican Roundup of 2017?) More generally, I find it hard to believe how well several of you who live in the U.S. have blocked out your thirty-odd years of experience of this man by television and other media. His record is as clear and available as Clinton's.
