In four or five paragraphs Max, can you give us a brief biography of how you came to be so fascinated by this, culminating in how you've arrived at your conclusions? Include in the first couple paragraphs information as to what you were into as a kid.

Personally I pored over NASA images and space books. Back in the day, you could just write to NASA and free of charge they would send you booklets about the Mariner, Viking, Voyager missions. Those were the days, eh?

But how did you get into this and what provoked your journey to certitude about the planet Mars? I think you owe everyone an explanation, so to speak. Just to clear the thin Martian air of any confusion. And/or lock the thread as suggested. . .

Nothing against those who [despite clear presentations of futility] continue to attempt to engage this Knife fellow, but I think I can safely say I'm far more in awe of the repeated attempts to obtain any semblance of a coherent response from Mr. Knife than the responses he provides.

I mean, don't get me wrong - it can be [and has been] entertaining to a degree -- for the first 9 or so pages -- but we're reaching [or have surpassed] the point of no return: the deep dwellings of The Knife himself, where rock formations are faces and blinking geometric lines provide proof of the meaning of... existence.

I don't know. I kind of like this thread. It's like an old friend to me now. Every so often Max bumps it to the top, his smiling avatar still wearing the cap with the sunglasses perched above the brim, the adorable little dimple in his chin like a mysterious martian crater, and proceeds to smugly rankle the readers with a link to a new update on his website. In addition to this helpful maintenance, he kindly offers a cryptic, yet meaningless scoff upon the latest uncomprehending commenters, just enough to piss them all off and cure them forever of any serious consideration of the theories of Richard Hoagland and stem any curiosity to ever visit "The Enterprise Mission" without first smoking the chronic. For these public services alone, his tenancy of this thread, on this board, has social value.

Sometimes, when I'm in a rare funk, and I feel like the forum is populated by a group of the most foolhardy and gullible bunch of in-fighting and cantankerous crackpots to ever find purchase in one url on the conspiro-web, I come to this thread and quietly bask in the serenity brought by a consensus which considers that, whatever else may be dividing us, whatever insults and acrimony we may share, here, on this thread, we can come together in an expression of unity, and, as brothers and sisters, with all our hearts and in common bonding, raise our voices as one and say... "huh?"

I'd be hard-pressed to disagree with any of those fine points, and upon further reflection, it's quite clear my motivation for continuing to follow and post to this thread can only be for those reasons outlined by the 'cuda above...
