8 European Far-Right Parties Who Are Celebrating Donald Trump


Technically, no Greek politicians have come out in favor of Trump. That doesn’t mean he lacks support in the Hellenic Republic. Evan Osnos, writing in the New Yorker, watched the first Republican debate last year beside Matthew Heimbach, a relatively well-known young white supremacist, and a group of Heimbach’s friends. Apart from learning of Heimbach’s outspoken support for Trump, Osnos also came to discover in the course of reporting that Heimbach had met with European fascists, including members of the Golden Dawn, on a trip to Greece.

An increasingly influential political party in Greece, Golden Dawn came third in the country’s last parliamentary elections. Like Trump fans, Golden Dawn supporters are similarly outspoken in their views on immigration spurred by the state of the Greek economy.


Unsurprisingly for Trump, Osnos’ article received its own boost of local antisemitic sentiment.

Is Heimbach a 'White Supremacist'?

This term get thrown around in a pretty slapdash fashion along with the other standard trigger terms. Such a thing tends to undermine the so-called investigations of the latest nuances in the far right and puts them firmly back into their old slots of seeing every single personage as a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.

A good opening query would be "is a white nationalist the same as a white supremacist?". Fortunately nowadays one can bypass the clanging noise provided by antifa supervision and see what these folks have to say for themselves. I'm not thinking so much of Heimbach, but of various alt-right personages, a useful measure would be to consider those 'ouch' moments, if there are any at all.

Rosie has become a kind of darling of some of the alt-righters, and in return has few bad things to say about them compared to the usual hyperbolic and patronising antifa style material,

This seemed to start with her interview with RamZPaul which I will try to dig up now that she has had a mention here.

The audio quality (on Rosie's side) is very bad on this and is pretty painful to the ears, so instead here's a link to Red Ice's first video stream of the Amren event. It's very interesting to see all these characters speaking for themselves minus the standard fire and brimstone layer applied by antifa types.
What is more interesting is the general upbeat nature of things here. What can be seen is that, counter to Rosie's angle, there's a lot more than short lived Trumpism here.

Conspiracy-meister Alex Jones, in the meantime, embraced Trump as being "basically like a Patriot sleeper cell," but warned him darkly against betraying their movement to fight "the New World Order."

“I absolutely do believe that this is an important day, a pivotal day,” proclaimed David Duke. “It really has been a referendum on nationalism. It has been a referendum on populism. It’s been a referendum on political correctness. It’s been a referendum against the controlled Establishment, both the media and the political Establishment in America. And so far, Trump has whipped them.”

You've pasted quite a few such snippets lately, basically a piece of writing (not your own of course) that mentions the supposed preferences of White Nationalists related to Trump..... and nothing else. Just a plain but empty association game.
A thinking person might ask "so what?" and wait in vain for the next shoe to drop.

If the actual opinions of WN's are the issue, then they can be discovered very readily, but after an initial minimal mention (or rather a number of them) in your chosen paste material, there is silence

I thought Matthew Heimbach had been well and truly fitted for that costume way back on this thread, is he now expected to hand it over? Is it transferable between such differently proportioned figures?

Watching the scenes unfold last night from Chicago and elsewhere, it became obvious that, largely as many of us have feared, Donald Trump is indeed leading the United States merrily down the path to an outbreak of actual, genuine fascism, all without himself being a hardened fascist ideologue, but rather a right-wing populist demagogue. But then again, the two phenomena are only degrees apart, and that is what we are now seeing on the streets of the American political landscape.

BURYING YOU WITH A GOOD SHOVEL IN THE GOOD EARTH: LIBERALS AND TRUMPISM

Once upon a time, a small group of indigenous people took on the Klan and won in the rural South in 1958.

The Lumbee tribe is not a big or especially well-known tribe outside of North Carolina. Its members make up the overwhelming majority of the population of Pembroke, NC and they constitute 40% of the population of Robeson County, which is on the North Carolina-South Carolina border. The Lumbee are denied access to the funds set aside for most federally recognized tribes despite gaining federal recognition in 1956. This is part of why Robeson is not a rich county: 1 in 3 residents live in poverty as of 2012, with 8% unemployment as of 2015.

Aside from poverty, there was another thing making life hard for the people of Robeson County in 1958. It was a Klan Grand Wizard obsessed with preventing miscegenation. His name was James ‘Catfish’ Cole, and he had come up from South Carolina to teach the Lumbee a lesson about not intermarrying with white people. He deployed two tools from the usual array of Klan terror: night rides and cross burnings. Cole was planning on holding a rally and cross burning near the town of Maxton by a place called Hayes Pond.



It did not go as he wanted it to. When approximately 50-150 Klansmen were all set to rally, 500 Lumbee, armed with rocks and sticks and firearms swarmed them. Four Klansmen were wounded by gunfire, the rest (including Cole) ran for the woods, leaving behind their families. The sheriff ultimately showed up and dispersed the ‘Klan rout’ after the Lumbee tribe took the Klan’s banner as a trophy, which is pictured above with the leaders of the Lumbee group who confronted the Klan, Charlie Warriax and Simeon Oxendine. Cole was ultimately arrested and prosecuted for inciting a riot, and the Lumbee still celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Hayes Pond to this day.

So. What does that have to do with Trump?
