(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding -- Elvis Costello

Gloria -- Patti Smith Group, 1979, featuring the full-on typical ten minutes of passionately self-absorbed love by vocalist of self, as she goes rocking on and on and on and on in a state of apparent near-total oblivion to the multi-car rock-instrumental pile-up taking place onstage all around her.

She's looking as hot as she ever did, too.

The tweens usually love that song. If she's at that stage.

"Underground attracted groups like Crowbar, rock musicians who embrace the counterculture and its lifestyle."

Oh What a Feeling (and Kelly Jay at Canada Day, 2000)

Too True Mama

Jay's daughter, whom he's carrying in the first link, disappeared in Japan 12 years ago.

There are a number of grim rumours floating around Fordham's mysterious disappearance.

Friends suspected she was abducted and sold into the underground sex trade. Others wonder if the confident and street smart woman offended members of the Japanese mafia who invited her to a nightclub.

Jay has heard "not a word" from Canada's Foreign Affairs, but is told his daughter's case is still open.

He fears he'll never learn what really happened to his daughter.

"It's one of life's mysteries," he said.

"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.
