If you've ever been there, then you know French-speaking Belgium (native tongue, for the French Belgians if not the Flemish) is also English-speaking Belgium (the widely used international tongue, you know?). You'll be hard-pressed to find anyone there, or in France, who doesn't get the use of "4," which is international. Not that the name isn't incredibly stupid and provocative.

Flemish schools in Brussels and some municipalities near the language border, must offer French lessons starting from the first or the second year. Most other Flemish schools offer French education in the third cycle. Some of the latter schools offer non-mandatory French lessons already in the second cycle. Primary schools in the French Community must teach another language, which is generally Dutch or English, depending on the school. Primary schools in the German Community have obligatory French lessons.

Current radio hits in Belgium feature one Dutch-sounding song in the top six at least...

Yeah, I get that. One only needs to watch New Delhi TV to understand how far English has penetrated into foreign languages. Obviously. The funny thing is, you think you've just argued for the opposite of what you've just argued.

Also, you may think this is one of those "intuitive" as opposed to "rigorous" calls, whereas intuition would say, of course they might use the "4." Whom would they be trying to attract? Youth they want to turn away from Justin Bieber? Or 110-year-old men like us, capable -- in 2015 -- of describing "4" as "internet hacker slang"! (Did you really just write that?)

Is there a requirement that threads that might actually produce a "there" in terms of real reasons to doubt elements of an official story must maintain a minimum level of non-intuitive non-rigorous bullshit to drown out any possible real evidence? Let's insist on it!
