Assange has been adamant that Russia did not send the files to his site. In fact, his confirmation that a state actor did not send the hacked emails violates a longstanding WikiLeaks policy of not making any comment about sources.
He did leave the possibility open that Guccifer 2.0’s leaks to the media were a Russian plot.
“Now, who is behind these, we don’t know,” he said. “These look very much like they’re from the Russians. But in some ways, they look very amateur, and almost look too much like the Russians.” In the Hannity interview, Assange also claimed that WikiLeaks received three pages of information about Trump and the Republican National Convention. It chose not to reprint those documents because they had already been printed elsewhere.
The New York Times reported intelligence officials believe that Russia also hacked the Republican National Committee but chose not to leak those files to prop up the Trump candidacy.
Assange also declined to comment on a Daily Mail report that his confidant Craig Murray flew to the United States to retrieve the documents printed on the site. Murray told the Daily Mail that he met with an intermediary in a wooded area near American University in Washington, D.C., who was handing off the documents on behalf of someone with “legal access” to both the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta emails.
“Craig Murray is not authorized to talk on behalf of WikiLeaks,” Assange said sternly.

"CIA says Russia interfered with American elections." I pointed out the irony on day one last month, several of us have been pointing out the bullshit.
I wasn't being mean, I was simply pointing out that this is entirely an escalation of the same strategy, probably the same players. It's beginning. Interpret this as meanness if it helps.
It is indeed where the bullshit SLAD subscribes to is leading us. We shall see, too late probably, but we shall.
Here. Let me post a non pertinent link that SLAD does not do.
Over 2,500 dogs are already enjoying a better life at Dog Island. Separated from the anxieties of urban life, dogs on Dog Island are healthy dogs who live a natural, healthy and happy life, free from the stress and hardship associated with daily life among humans.
They live with almost limitless space, and tens of thousands of rabbits, rodents, fish and other natural prey. Surrounded by thousands of other dogs, this is the only place for them to be truly social and create healthy families.
Does she post links like that? Yeah, she doesn't. It is always stuff I would never find were it not for her. I can choose to believe or not believe. It's just information that she has come across. Read it or don't. I request as a non mod that people do not give off the vibe of making someone uncomfortable with their "style". That's basically it.

For god's sake 82, please stop doing that. Harvey is not "mean, nor was he being "mean", nor was he "needling" anyone. This is a Discussion Board, and not all contributions to any discussion are equal. Post here and expect your posts to be questioned and criticised rationally.
Slad's posts and AD's have indeed been taking us precisely here, to the very edge of war with Russia - because they, like millions of others elsewhere, have been posting and re-posting torrents of dangerous warmongering propaganda they refused to even defend or explain. Just catapulting the propaganda, for months on end. Bullshit galore, without rhyme or reason. Twisted unreliable shite from the likes of the Daily Mail or the Daily Beast, unexplained, undefended, just splurged over the board because it's there. Don't pretend you haven't seen it, it's all over the board. Pointing this out and criticising it is not mean. It's necessary. Now more than ever.
I think you still misunderstand. And I've gone out of my way to thank SLAD for her tireless gathering of information I want to read. Neither am I attempting to censor the dis-information she posts. Read what I said. I can't be responsible for what I didn't say.

Turkey has it's going to keep cooperating with the Russians after this assassination, didn't they?
Militants in the Levant are celebrating the assassination, though.

SLAD, you have many more friends than that. Part of friendship is accepting criticism in the spirit with which it was intended. No need to bristle with indignation, or even to accept the criticism, just accept that it comes from a place of concern and friendship and then think about it or forget about it.
Either way, Mac is right. The material you've been posting obviously appeals to your hope of ridding yourselves of Trump, but the price is too high to pay because it involves subscribing to lies which are intended solely to foment war.

Tuesday, 20 December 2016 | MYT 5:12 AM Turkey's Erdogan says Putin agrees shooting of ambassador was provocation
ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday he spoke to Russia's Vladimir Putin and they both agreed the assassination of Russia's ambassador to Ankara by a gunman was an act of provocation by those looking to harm relations their countries.
In a video message broadcast on Turkish television, Erdogan said Turkey-Russia relations were vital for the region and those who aimed to harm ties were not going to achieve their goals.
The Russian ambassador to Ankara was shot in the back and killed while giving a speech at an art gallery on Monday. Turkish security sources said the gunman, who shouted "Don't forget Aleppo", was an off-duty police officer. http://www.thestar.com.my/news/world/20 ... ovocation/

This just gives credit to the Wikileaks enthusiasts who are convinced that Assange is erm gone and that Wikileaks is compromised ie
1. Out of all the possible journalist/outlets he's on Hannity's show?!! Hannity? WTF! This just reinforces the Assange is pro-Trump/and therefore workin' fer Putin narrative. 2. I have a hard time believing that Assange would publicly castigate one of his most credible ally's - Craig Murray and to Hannity no less ie WTF 3. Also, explicitly supporting the Russians hacked the election narrative? Doh!
This is the opposite of "Proof of Life": Fake Assange shoring up the Empire's imperialist war-mongering attack narrative.
"Assange is dead" or they are threatening to kill his family or something.
The Hill and other outlets received documents from a hacker or hackers calling itself “Guccifer 2.0.” Guccifer 2.0 also posted separate documents on its own site. Assange denied knowing Guccifer 2.0 on Hannity's show Thursday.
“Our source is not the Russian government,” said Assange, later claiming WikiLeaks did not receive its material from any state actor, Russia or otherwise.
While the intelligence community agrees that Russia hacked the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Democratic National Campaign Committee, there is dissent over whether the Russians did so with an eye to promoting President-elect Donald Trump or just generally wanting to sow chaos.
