Buttjudge was already introduced as an RI subject, appropriately enough on a thread concerning the in-series manufacture of fake-progressive Democratic 2020 candidates. (That thread was initially about an earlier test model that appears to have gone dud, which you may remember, it was called the Edsel, erm, sorry, I mean: the Beto.) I have trouble seeing why we need a separate thread for every single one of the 38 goddamn fake progressive presidential model launches aimed at establishing the ABB of Neera Tanden's dreams. I thought over here we do social commentary and UFOs and shrooms, you know? This really is the shit for Democratic Underground, there is plenty of space for it there. And elsewhere. It's the whole goddamn fucking Internet.

Re: Booty Kick is Seriously Dark Horse
Prediction: Beto's incapable of serving a function other than early stalking horse, a John the Baptist for the as-yet undetermined Player To Be Named Later. His function will be to distract the right-wing heat for a while, then to melt quickly.
Viewing the field for potential ABBs (Anybody But Bernie, which it is superfluous to say is also ABBOTG), and excluding the two governors on late-life benders who might have had a shot in the atmosphere of circa 1980, I had a hunch:
The Betomaniac, Prosecutor Harrisment, and Old Monster Buyed-In may become preludes to sweet young Mayor Booty Kick (actually pronounced Buddha Judge, which is even better) as the Jimmy Carter of 2020. Brainy, sophisticated and contemporary in his triangulation, with RFK-style rhetorical flourishes, he seems to believe what he says, including the bullshit position on Medicare for All and the ultra-bullshit on the Question of American Force.

I agree with Wombat about this thread, and the basis is not because there is a special, unprecedented odiousness in the product currently being media-tested as Mayor Pete for Prez (ABB!). It's just the old straw that breaks the camel's back.
WR's is an appropriate response given the altogether routine nature of this product launch, and the starting of a thread without any commentary but just copy-paste of the promotional materials already amply available and being pushed by the corporate propaganda machinery.
(This is furthermore by a user who has easily single-handedly started 2/3 or more of all new threads on this board in recent years, basically forcing the discussion toward the corporate media agenda through flooding, as though the US corporate media needed a local archive on a Canadian phpBB board, as though this is not totally superfluous. It is a great argument for limiting the total number of new threads that a user or its sock puppets can start to no more than two a month. My god, that still comes out to 24 a year!)
That being said, no meme (i.e., captioned graphic making a point about contemporary debates) is a "Facebook meme" per se, and if one wants to distribute clever ones here, what's your problem with it, WR?

In that article I learned that Pete wrote or said that he was troubled (or some version of) by Obama giving clemency to Manning, SOOOOOOOOO it would seem that if you believe that Manning should be free it does appear that Pete disagrees with that and that I do find troubling and so should anyone that believes Manning should not be locked away. Correct?
I think Buttigieg would naturally tend to oppose such whistleblowing, being in Naval Intelligence and all.

No, that makes him a natural to engage in such whistleblowing on behalf of exposing and possibly ending the practice of international aggression and war crimes by the outfit to which he belongs. What Chelsea Manning did was a lot more important than someone running for president or even winning as a fake progressive who wants to do smarter wars. Mayor Pete's got a lot of potential to be the Obama type this time around -- look, he's even the tool of real estate interests in a midwestern city, just one a bit smaller than Chicago.
Anyway, I sure hope this is my last post on this thread. Thanks! We'll be here all week, try the beet-based fake-beef burger.
