No one but mods can ban another member, from a thread or otherwise. I've never suggested for anyone not to post in any of "my" threads (I place "my" in quotes because I don't keep track of posts I start here - I don't claim ownership of them; once i post here, whether an OP or a reply, it becomes part of the whole, part of the discourse. Clearly, there is a difference in philosophy and intent Re: impetus for contributing in this forum), so please don't misrepresent or attempt to lump members into facile categories.

Again, I never had an issue with anyone here at a personal level. I know no one here personally.

There's no way this won't sound anodyne, but isn't the board big enough for everyone?

I won't pretend to be up to speed on all of the disagreements here, but maybe that's good. The issues are maybe irrelevant to my point, which is that you don't all need to be pals, but maybe you do need to give each other some space.

I don't want anybody banned or the board to be heavily moderated. In return, all I'd like is some basic, online courtesy. Like not flooding someone's thread, or driving discussion off topic, or making vicious personal attacks. That kind of stuff.

This song is about distractions and negativity that causes narrow mindedness (or close mindedness) and stifles creativity. He wants to create a barrier (fix a hole) from the outside pressures (the rain) and allow his mind to wander uninhibited. He also wants to smoke a joint and go in a colorful room that inspires him.

I have nothing against disagreements. The personalization of disagreement gets quite tedious, though. Just my opinion.

The name "Rigorous Intuition" has become a very sick joke. It is now a dismally depleted Safe Space for liars and sneaks, a place where anyone noticing the most obvious truths will be called a bully or (even more absurdly) a censor.

Someone wants it to be this way.

The misery mentioned is universal, and even though I rarely peruse their posts anymore, if the drama queens suddenly decided stick around their sordid perspectives add some diversity and will always exist if someone desires to read their shit… Same with the Dreams: I’m glad they’ve posted a lot of the articles I wouldn’t seen if they hadn’t done it.

One can indulge or ignore it or not!
