Watching Halloween (2018) I realised that Michael Myers is simply America or perhaps power, or maybe just the end point of Capital. Blundering about, killing everyone and everything it comes into contact with without ever really knowing why and certainly never caring but mostly because it can, Myers is the perfect metaphor. There's not very much that is scarier when you think about it.

When you think about it, the death cult is utterly serious about achieving the end of the world while everybody who is merely enabling the death cult have no idea that the end of everything is actually the goal, not just an unpleasant side effect of Consumerism. They simply go along with it because they've got nothing better to imagine.
