It's not bad to be anything inherently, except bad things.

Or that their main source of revenue actually comes from selling companies an excuse for reducing employee health benefits.

Or that another considerable revenue stream of theirs is derived from government agencies doling out those tax dollars we're always hearing so much about on programs for government employees that deliver no benefit whatsoever to the taxpayer.

In short: When you do believe what people tell you when it's pleasing and don't when it's not and reply to all information that harshes your mellow wrt former by insulting the messenger, nobody has to even make you their fool. Because you'll fight for the opportunity yourself.

I'm not at all sure where you told the story before or what you said about what happened- I wasn't there at DU and don't read many of the threads here.

Turning many of them toward effective, pointed, political action them will be a difficult endeavor, to say the least. They are bitter, they cling to their guns and conspiracy tropes as a way to explain their frustrations, without thoroughly examining the roots of those beliefs for disease.

The 60% which you say are kinda hopeless- and you may be being generous, I dunno- are not the ones I am concerned with. And you're absolutely right- my sojourns in that world these last few years have definitely shown me that.

It's the other 40% or so- those with the potential to think and act effectively- that I have high hopes for. Because much of the stuff we talk about here is dynamite.
