I don't disagree with you re: Hugh's particular examples, pan.

Exactly. And, I'm becoming increasingly annoyed by the HMW bashers, including Jeff. I know there's some deep history between you guys that I'm sure I've missed, but the in-fighting really does get trite. And, that's just another reason I'm spending less time around here, FWIW.

But all he has is specific examples! If they are wrong, the whole "idea" of KH is wrong. There's no coherent theory there at all... just example after example, none of which hold water.

Bullshit.

Here let me fill you in: the "deep history," is that Hugh posts the same incoherent, slanderous, intelligence-insulting, unfeasible, paranoic babble in PRETTY MUCH EVERY THREAD ON THE BOARD.

Well, that's why I added option 3 :-)

Hugh has no problem "bashing" his way into unrelated threads. And any "bashing" of "keyword hijacking" is brought on by his unrelenting advocacy of it combined with his unwillingness to engage in dialogue or to tolerate criticism. Not to mention his utter unwillingness to question his own examples and beliefs.

Hence my attempt to get him to present one of his better examples of "keyword hijacking" -- to put it to the test of the many smart people who inhabit this forum.

No matter -- it's not my focus in life to confront delusional ideas, and my attempts to start a dialogue failed a long time ago. So it goes. I just hope he will restrain himself and stay on-topic, or start his own threads. He's clearly unwilling to put "keyword hijacking" to the test -- that is pretty damning.

Well that is strange. So far 74% of the people that have responded to this poll have responded favorably to Hugh's efforts. Its amusing to watch this attack continue while at the same time the pollster is clearly in the minority on this issue. Just goes to show you that the vocal and disruptive minority doesn't speak for the majority, it just seems that way sometimes because the minority is so obsessively vocal.....After all this was a "smackdown" was it not? I would say the "smacking" is complete....

Bullshit.
Okay, if it's bullshit, please provide one of his examples of "keyword hijacking" that you think demonstrates its reality.

Hugh won't do it, so why not you?

So do you think the vast majority of the US public are intelligent, educated and correct in their views, and that those with minority ideas are all wrong? I'm guessing not.

Could it be that 74% of people are either wrong or posting in support of Hugh for misguided emotional reasons?

Nice try at inserting a straw man into the argument but I won't waste my time on that bait. I think the poll results speak for themselves.

Yeah they speak for themselves, they're saying "THE INTERNET MAKES YOU STUPID".

There aren't many, actually there might be very very few, but there've been a few instances where the keyword hijacking theory made a lot of sense...just can't remember and don't have the motivation to do an hours-long search. (See Hugh? Make one big thread, because one big thread would be USEFUL) However, unless this is a fucking courtroom -- and it isn't -- whether or not Hugh himself can provide viable particular examples for the theory is irrelevant. If Hugh had been around in the mid-late 60's professing on his own a theory that government agencies were infiltrating radical and progressive organizations, and yet his examples of that theory were almost always retarded, his inability to provide examples wouldn't negate the potential viability of his overall theory. We're not in a courtroom, Hugh isn't on trial, and his theory isn't on trial.

But what is his theory?
