L, could you never ever ever direct me to Forbes.com again. Here's what I learned repeatedly:
Everyone involved in meeting the kid utterly dreaded it, but because he smiled through his pain like a good little fan boy he got immortalized forever in what will probably be a passing factoid relegated to the commentary track on the DVD that no one but the over obsessed ever listen to.
I'm utterly touched.
Really.
There's no sarcasm there at all.
Nope.
Not a bit.

No offense meant, mulebone, but you're judging something you have no knowledge of, the show, breaking bad.
You're certainly entitled to your opinions, but do you need to so rudely dismiss what others feel to be interesting entertainment? Are they not entitled to hold their opinions as dearly as you do yours?
I do not watch television at home but have enjoyed a few episodes of the Borgias and another.
I also caught the episode of the show about Zombies when they tried to haul an obese zombie out of a well with a rope, which didn't turn out so well for anyone. The production value of some of these shows is truly excellent.
I suppose you never watch movies either, for the same reasons you state you detest TV.

You're making the assumption that I haven't seen chunks of it. TV is ubiquitous where I work. They're always on. Breaking Bad marathons are always on. AMC has uncovered a gold mine, not only with BB but also the Walking Dead & Mad Men, after years of flailing along with minimal interest from the viewing public. I have co-workers who watch it.
I just don't care about the contrived trials & tribulations of a crew of make believe drug dealers.
It's meaningless to me.
Do I watch movies?
That depends. If you consider kid flicks "movies" then yeah I've seen a few over the years.
The only adult films I see are what co-workers bring in for movie night.
The latest Die Hard
the latest Stallone flick
etc.
All about as visually compelling as watching a drain clear.
I have 4 kids buddy.
That's what I've done for the last 16 years.
Raise kids & work to pay for kids.
So has my wife.
We both log long fucking hours.
Do you have any idea how expensive parenthood is?
My wife had her 18 year career ended a few years back when her company outsourced her entire division to India. Rather than whimper & whine & moan my bad assed honey went freelance & is currently making more than she did working for her asshole employer.
Her business did so well that she needed help but the cash inflow didn't make hiring someone feasible. Instead she trained me to do some of what she does & when I'm not killing time at the institution I'm working next to her here. One of us or both of us are always with the kids.
They're the people I care about.
Those 5 people.
After them my care ratio takes an incredibly steep downward plunge.
As far as I can tell, I haven't missed shit by living instead of watching other people fake living on a little screen.
Hollywood can take its high production values & its obsessive "I have time to kill" fan base
& go fuck themselves with it.

HOLY SHIT! This guy has 4 fucking kids??? That's unheard of! And on top of that he has a shitty job!! Kids AND a job? How the fuck does he do it? He must be the only one struggling in this predicament- I've never heard such a story. All this art and film shit MUST CEASE until the world fully realizes the unique nature of Mulebone's hellish existence.

Fresno Layspotatochip, I think there's a Breaking Wind marathon on, better hurry home to mom's basement, ya might miss something important.
You people are fucking awesome.
It must really suck that y'all are addicted to a system that ya hate.
A bunch of big mouthed toddlers who hate ma & pa but can't live without them.
Hands out waiting for daddy government to subsidize your pointless lives.
Screaming about your rights, stopping your little feet and smashing your Breaking Wind toys in fits of childish pique.
I'd bet the lot of you have never done anything for anybody other than yourselves.
Ooooo ooooooo I'm an RI-er and I have to watch hours & hours of TV so I can find out that the ends really don't justify the means.
A lesson most sane people learn by the time they're ten.
It's really too bad the US isn't the Nazi hell you armchair revolutionaries wish it was because the thought of an army of of jackboots wiring the lot of you TV addicted sissies up to wall outlets is an awesome thought indeed.
Hearing y'all scream for your mommies while you smell your own flesh cook.
Now there's a fucking miniseries I'd watch.

Oh please mulebone, so some enjoy watching angry actors on TV while you enjoy angry acting on the internet.
You have some work to do if many are to be convinced of the moral superiority of your acting (out) compared to the many other varieties.
Also you sound a bit full of yourself, you might want to check that.
Although I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.

To be fair, the ads that play during Breaking Bad are fucking obnoxious.
Though I'm always reading or writing while the tv's on, it is always on, and I've seen every episode. That's the side effect of wanting to be in a relationship. I've never met a peer who didn't want the television on constantly, with the exception of my ex-wife.
I actually had my first-ever session with a therapist a couple weeks ago, and my dismay over the role television plays in my relationship was a big topic of discussion. I just figure that if I must be stuck inside, I might as well try to build something.

Did you write for MAD Magazine before you took your bride and 14 children and rejected the entirety of human cultural output? Maybe you lost your job doing wacky packages and realized what a crock of shit it all was?
I WILL watch the Breaking Bad marathon, thank you. And I'll do it without four screaming brats cramping my style!

Fresno! MAD is high lit, man. You can't be dissing it this way. I'm sure mulebone will do it for us.

To be fair Mewlbone does quote Phillip Larkin for his signature line so perhaps he's not an utter philistine.

We get it. Your life sucks and you want everyone else to be miserable too, so you can feel better about yourself.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go watch fictional people doing fictional stuff. Way more fun than your nihilist/tea-party BS.

That's enough. Stop the name calling and insults or I'm going to give you a few days off.

You know, I hadn't even made it to this portion before I posted my warning, so I'm upping my warning to actual time off, from staring at this particular screen anyway.
