The manatee photographs above are worth a thousand words, and laughs. A quest for calm is also welcome. There is silent peace in an RIP for a fallen conspirator, even an enemy combatant, a cyber soldier who buried himself in his own passion.

In retrospect, the concept of keyword hijacking had some merit in its origins. It’s just that HMW created a colossal conspiracy crossword of forced word connections and intersections by imagined association until it became an untenable stretch into insanity and isolation, one where only the paranoid puzzlemaker held any solutions.

Words have always been weapons. HMW was just another casualty of their dangerous misuse, especially by machinegunning us with his misinterpretations.

Words are particularly lethal when used as labels. Loaded word labels like “Obamacare” exemplify how potent political packaging can easily explode. When parapolitical lexicons are unleashed into a fiery fringe forum all hell breaks loose.

The experienced wordsmiths here at RI illustrate every day how the war of words can create cliques of camaraderie, ones that can quickly coalesce into combat and conflicts. Issues of word meaning, interpretation and definition propel posts into polarities and put their authors into each other’s crosshairs in a rigorous heartbeat.

Whether on paper or electronic pixels, by pen or keyboard pecking, the formation of a forest of posts and their author inhabitants can fuel a scorched earth battle of flaming eruptions and devastating confrontations that level the literal landscape.

The lonely weeping willow mourns the broken branches and toppled trees in the battleground aftermath. The hardier hotheads among the surviving few heal their hurt, reload their arsenal and replant seeds of inspired thought back into the fetid but still fertile field.

The hope is that new growth will be welcomed and encouraged.

More important is I read somewhere that the main thing was the wookie, an avatar for the reintegrated hippie culture, was reduced to less than a sidekick. He couldn't even talk.

I like Tom Engelhardt's treatment better.

My paternal grandfather chewed tobacco and there were countless in-family jokes comparing him to Chewbacca. It's just a puerile reference. Such subtle psyops.

Just realized ... Maybe now that he's gone, it's safe to invite people here.

Also, I know a hell of a lot of people who have figured out that conspiracies are actually how things get done in this world of transnational oligarch gangsters.

The "media" is getting more and more desperate and more and more exposed as a bunch of propagandistic liars.

Not at all, I'm always hoping for a resurgence. And I was being pouty myself. I'm still irritated by the successes of vigilant citizen approaches, and that colors my commentary from time to time.

LOL! Thanks Ash! Fellow Canadian fallout littering the literary landscape. (See The Lounge for my explanation of "peartreed".)

The correlation between post count and contribution is unclear at best. RI is about diversity, insight, and bold conjecture. Don't let the rest cramp your style.

Hugh was at the quintessential heart and spirit of what RI once was, if it was ever anything beyond an arrangement of bits and bytes. He worked within a framework very much in the same way Walt did in Breaking Bad. He was consistent, and yes, certainly unwavering, but so what? Once you knew that about Hugh, don't try to draw blood from a stone, so to speak. I didn't have to be Hugh's friend to catch his drift, and as Twyla indicated, you could scan his material for the juicy, delicious seeds.....kind of like eating a pomegranate.....to some it's not worth the effort, but to others it's not an effort and the fruit seed is sublime.

For any one with an open mind, and there still are a few here.....the nucleus that's still barely holding, if you follow the saga of Hugh's banning closely, in its leaves you will find the saga of what's happened, and what is happening, to RI. Hugh was driven from these lands by specific personalities. These same personalities have created a de facto ghetto and appointed themselves unelected ghetto bosses. Their purpose is to contain and deprive this space of fresh, replenishing winds that can sweep the concentrating and stifling pollution from our midst. I have watched this very closely over the years, and, imo, Hugh was not a menace. It was the people who menaced him that were, and still are, the menace. Every thread where Hugh deposited his invaluable material, whether you agreed with it or not, was turned into a flame war by those who harassed and hectored him. It was their fault, not Hugh's. Why did they just not put him on their foe list if they couldn't stand him and his framework? That is the question. Why didn't they just ignore him? I'll tell you why. For the very reasons I have stated above.

The sad part about Hugh's banning is that it's a self-inflicted wound on everyone who has ever visited this space, is still visiting it and anyone who will visit it in the future. It's symbolic. Humanity (Hugh Manatee) was driven from this board, from this space. The message is that Humanity doesn't win. That's a sad indictment, and that which drove it away will continue to drive it away until it's recognized for what, why and who it is.

Hugh, if you're even lurking, thanks for all your posts over the years, and I'm sorry about what happened to you. I hope that you see my presence here as a vindication of the light you brought to my life. You challenged and altered my perspective and perception, and for that, you earned my respect. For the sleepers here who have remained silent and fearful, there's still a chance to resuscitate the fading spirit of RI, but we must first recognize the mechanism at play and reverse and dissolve the ghettoization of this space. And yes, that will be met with fierce and brutal resistance, obviously, but if it means enough to you, you'll rise up and join the challenge to take back this space and breath life back into the atrophying spirit of RI.

So you're going to avoid every question posed directly to you about this, but you'll take the time to write a four paragraph paean?

Can you see why people here don't think you're operating in good faith?

Now that's epic bullshit. The Carol-troll, which is some banned former member, doesn't believe any of it. At this point it will make up anything to fuck up the board, attack us each individually and waste our time.

Wait, gotta quote it:

Which tells us Carol-troll should have chosen Truth and Justice as its username, so that RI will have banned Truth and Justice!

Now let's do the rest of this post HMW-style.
