Pizzagate was always a strange eye-rolling last minute curiosity to the find final moments of the already strange Trump V Clinton election last year, when it came
to online anti Hillary meme-ing and trolls. While it was surreal to see the topic of high level elite pedo rings become a hot trending topic, there was a heavy dose of "alt right"
and "Fake news" to Pizzagate. The inevitable and unfortunate incident of a young man firing off an assault rifle at Comet Pizza inspired by the conspiracy theories
online seemed to be the end of the cycle in the popular consciousness.

However this recent hour long documentary online I thought was really well done. Far away from the reddit trolls and fringe, this guy has presented
what seems like a really gut-punching eye opener presenting everything. Not sure if it's just a pile of cryptic coincidences or part of the broader
Franklin-Seville-Elmhouse-Finders-Dutroux house of horrors...but damn this is really good sleuthing

8bit, everytime the above videomaker discusses alleged "fbi-codes" he actually shows screenshots of 4chan.so either he's purposefully misdirecting the viewer or his "research" is so shoddy that he can't discern between an official fbi-document and a screenshot of a known (and vile) trollsite.

I want this guy to do his "objective" take on the Reptilian agenda.

I clicked at a random place on timeline, heard that Abramovic is "known for collaborating with Jay Z and is close with Lady Gaga" as well being "a big hit in Hollywood." That's absurd. Those are superfluous sidenotes borne of her celebrity which was gained for notability in the art world vis a vis her role in and relationship to performance, feminism, actionism etc. Not to mention, describing "spirit cooking" without at least a perfunctory acknowledgment of the role that body fluids have played in performance art since the 1960s on as well as a broader and deeper acknowledgment of the coalescence between the occult and modern art is silly. Possible my click was an unfortunate one and I haven't really "taken the time" to investigate "properly" but I'm going to field a wild guess that the photos of the ritual sacrifice gala event shown in the background were not anomalous but indicative of another researcher claiming objectivity, research etc while clearly falling for a line that had no basis in the first place.

Reflecting back over the events of the last several months, it's clear that whatever reality there is to the allegations, (1) the allegations will never be addressed in an official capacity by the FBI or equivalent organization, (2) they will be used by lone "researchers" to generate hits for their blog or YouTube page, and (3) they may be used in a coordinated fashion by special interests to move the Overton window in the direction of gay man = pedophile.

One predominant theme is the concerned citizen who, in attempting to expose the players, rehashes old details known for months, focusing in particular on the salacious or grotesque. So one wonders what private need (conscious or unconscious) is motivating their efforts.

Hypothesis: PG is a sign of people increasingly using smaller screens, smartphones and their ilk, to access and process their conspira-news. Smaller screens facilitate shorter attentions spans and greater (and flightier) leaps of cognition. Propaganda relies on slogans, and "smartphones" are making us dumber, becoming perpetual little organs of propaganda slogans. Also, the same tiny friend in your pocket that provides you with constant information, recreation, communication is soon a benevolent and protective totem that you bind with. Relying on this tiny friend we are more predisposed to trust its content, as we do routinely do with directions, weather, and all matters of information without question.

Having seen beepers, the High Sitcom Age (1970s) as well as the syndicated version of the earlier TV eras, the advent of the Blockbuster (1974-77), early PC age, America Held Hostage (1979-81), the MTV revolution (1980s), "everyone" getting a PC in the office and then at home (course of the 1980s), the advent of mass Internet (1993ish forward), the All-O.J. Simpson era (1994-96), the Monica Era (1996-98), the advent of everyone having a cellphone (mid-1990s fwd), 9/11 and all terror all the time, blogosphere and Internet 2.0ish (2000s), "Social Media" (about 2006 forward), Smart Phones (what, 2008ish forward), pads, and the pretty-much replacement of old Internet by FB/Twitter, I do think the single biggest impact on how people behave and process information has been the smart phone. Everything else was still being stationary by yourself being more or less addicted to the stationary screen-stream, with more or less of a life outside that. But now it's everyone everywhere watching their portable screen often without awareness that there are other people around. Before that, for 200,000 years the main thing that people moving outdoors in public spaces did was watch or notice other people. No more. The death of the book and sustained reading was declared many a time, but I think it's smart phones that succeeded it more than anything.

This I believe was a throw away line by James in a letter (written to some admiring college girls he visited if I recall correctly) but I think goes a long way to explaining the smartphone phenomenon. I remember way back being suspicious/quizzical of those upgrading from cell phones to smart phones who didn't appear to have many friends to begin with. Of course, technology is a large part wish fulfillment but it was weird how those who needed a social life, needed a smart phone, and those who already had a active or even abundant social life shortly need a smart phone to stay current in the game. I think smartphones have basically become the proof and promise that you are appreciated, have meaning, are connected to something greater and even that life isn't random, but is navigable and conquerable with the right smartphone, apps and social network. One of the biggest fears of many people is not that the government is watching their every move, but that no one is.

Yes, I think required current viewing for all good RI'ers is American Crime Story: The People vs. O. J. Simpson. It is easy to forget the complete and constant bombardment of mass insanity that engendered when an all american celebrity psychopathic murderer's trial became a constant real time reality-game show causing dissociation and/or a perverted sense of sadistic "justice" or "revenge". But it wasn't embedded on our smartphones then. Now it is.

This I believe was a throw away line by James in a letter (written to some admiring college girls he visited if I recall correctly) but I think goes a long way to explaining the smartphone phenomenon. I remember way back being suspicious/quizzical of those upgrading from cell phones to smart phones who didn't appear to have many friends to begin with. Of course, technology is a large part wish fulfillment but it was weird how those who needed a social life, needed a smart phone, and those who already had a active or even abundant social life shortly need a smart phone to stay current in the game. I think smartphones have basically become the proof and promise that you are appreciated, have meaning, are connected to something greater and even that life isn't random, but is navigable and conquerable with the right smartphone, apps and social network. No, that is not the smartphone, it's merely a tool. It's social media that has become the great validator for those that constantly need to feel least they have to wake the fuck up and actually listen to what the hell is really going on inside their head.

Smartphones are sophisticated and complex tools. The device doesn't validate anything, it's only connecting you to other people who can then retweet and like the garbage posted. Not really different than how some people on RI use the forums for validation.

Can this thread soon return to supporting awful art, debunking and trashing?

The smartphone is a tool, and we have become tools or our tool.
Accessing social media (and everything has become social media now or has a component of it) constantly from an always on, private, personal mini-computer connected to millions of other people in real time is a different experience with social media, than say, having to mail in a lonely hearts dating survey to a matchmaking company that runs the form through their database and then mails you back the results. Even say having Tindr on a personal smartphone is different than having it on a shared family computer.

And just owning a smartphone is validating. Heck even carrying around a broken smartphone in public and pretending to text, swipe and phone is validating. You are signifying, I am someone who is connected to others and am part of a larger unseen network of people and am doing things with them, or planning to do things with them. I don't need the real life meat puppets surrounding me or even this environment, for "I'm constantly making plans with others." This is more validating than other tools, saying walking around with a tool belt, which sure says, "I make and fix shit, and people pay me to do it." A smartphone is like carrying around a magic box to a magical land that others can't see, but they know reveals a lot about you and has the potential to deliver heaven or hell.
