Icke makes a very clear distinction between Jews and the Zionist oligarchy.

He elucidates the beginnings of Zionism, from the Khazar Empire and its mass "conversion" to Judaism in the 8th century, the Rothschild subterfuge and their Balfour Declaration, the current, false state of Israel and how the Rothschild/Zionists are using the innocent Jews and Palestinians as pawns and cannon fodder.

Oh, yeesh.

Icke certainly walks the line:

AFAIK the idea of the Khazars / Central Asian tribes having a big contribution into the 'Jewish genepool' was found to be false and that a big issue was that Jewish and Palestinian / Arab genes were SO similar that many right wing Israelis were greatly offended by this finding. The Khazars were also painted as warlike, when in context, they were no more warlike than Kipchak or Pecheneg or Slav tribes in the area.

The issue of the Rothschilds actually seems to be coming more into the open through social networking research into multi-national corporate ownership; the far right portray things as TEH JOOZ OWNZ DAH WURLD!!! which is utter bollocks.

I used to think the elite was a pyramid shaped thing, but now think an ecosystem is a MUCH more accurate underlying metaphor. In terms of top 'predators' the membership lists of the Trilaterals, CFR and Bildeberg are a much more accurate and contemporay place to look for real power than the Caspian Basin in the 8th Century.

Aw ok, yeah Icke I guess did the Bill Cooper thing of saying "replace Jew with Illuminati, and the protocols work". Bill Cooper too was labeled a racist, but he virulently opposed the many racists

I saw a documentary on the life and death of Bill Cooper, and think he was largely misunderstood. I consider China and Russia to be part of "the powers that be" for their part in genocide, attrocities, oppression, corruption, oil, etc. Yet, I also know the Western PTB dream of nothing more than a world war with them. To me it's like Lex Luthor and The Joker battling it out, yet an even larger force manipulating all sides.

It's not at all. In fact AJ has devoted a number of shows to addressing all the endless prisonplanet commenters/youtube commenters calling him a "crypto Jew" and why he doesnt talk about Israel more.
He's endlessly talked about anti Semitism being wedged into conspiracy discussion as a poison pill.

When he and Icke talk about esoteric topics, I don't take it as code for "the joos" but the theory that praeternatural beings are spiritually manipulating the global elite/PTB as some Nazi researchers have suggested
