Back to Dealy Plaza.
Resident Jalisa Jackson says: "I think the biggest thing that we've had something like this is when JFK died," evoking the November 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy on the city's streets. She calls it "surreal."

They were there to "test drive" police state tactics for the neoliberal cause. I wasn't nearly as attuned to thinking this way back then. But I could see it in the vandals' eyes. They were not there with the great majority. I'm trying to think of some other thing that happened recently where a number of police here were identified as inciters. Gah. Can't remember it.

Here we go...
A lone gunman or multiple snipers? Confusion persistsPosted at 19:31 BST
The New York Times and other outlets are reporting that Micah Xavier Johnson appears to be the only gunman in the mass shooting that killed five police officers and wounded seven others. Earlier reports indicated that were multiple snipers and three other people were brought into custody.
Dallas Police have not released any additional information about the number of snipers, but Chief David Brown mentioned to [sic] "suspects" at a vigil in downtown Dallas on Friday afternoon.
"This was a well-planned, well-thought-out, evil tragedy by these suspects," he said.

The people who organised and took part in that march need to start calling for eyewitness accounts, cellphone videos, etc., and they need to start collating and publicising that evidence themselves.

“He wanted to kill officers, and he expressed killing white people, he expressed killing white officers,” Brown said. “He expressed anger for Black Lives Matter. None of that makes sense, "
True. It doesn't even make grammatical sense. But whose fault is that?

It would seem to me that an other alternate system would probably be better at creating public safety. A basic income, decriminalization of most nonviolent crimes, way better healthcare (especially for mental health), community-based mediation teams steeped in feminist theory and queer theory, and communal justice forums for cooperation, grievances, and restorative justice.

Ha! Yes, like Malcolm X... It also seems like an egregious breach of the long-standing American tradition that these villains get called by three names. 'Lee H. Oswald ' just doesn't work, does it?

From the Memory Hole:
Police Say Dallas Shooting Was Carried Out by at Least Four Shooters Strategically Positioned on Rooftops Gabrielle Bluestone
Today 7:09am
Filed to: dallas attack
Authorities say they believe the attack in Dallas that killed five police officers and injured six more was carried out by at least four snipers who positioned themselves in “triangulated locations” on rooftops near the end of a Black Lives Matter parade route Thursday.
There were about 800 protestors and 100 police officers in the crowd when the shooting began around 8:45 p.m., the New York Times reports.
Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown says police believe there were at least four snipers positioned above the end of the parade route, specifically targeting law enforcement officers.
“Some [officers] were shot in the back,” Brown said at a press conference Thursday night. “We believe that these suspects were positioning themselves in a way to triangulate on these officers.”
“[They were] working together with rifles, triangulating at elevated positions in different points in the downtown area where the march ended up going,” Brown said. ...

When I was regrettably watching FOX news last night out of curiosity, they kept showing people saying the shootings were "triangulated". I have to say it's the first real news I have ever seen on FOX and they covered the breaking-ness of it well as far as the stream of information.

We'll also be speaking to his (hot) ex-wife, who will describe how he sometimes used profanities and did not always feed the cat.

The three non-cooperative suspects feels strange to me too. One doesn't really hear that too often.

Tonight it appears that two snipers shot ten police officers from elevated positions during the protest/rally. Three officers are deceased, two are in surgery and three are in critical condition.
An intensive search for suspects is currently underway. No suspects are in custody at this time. We ask that any citizen with information regarding the shootings tonight call 214-671-3485.
We will provide more information once it is available. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers tonight.

First four, then two. And always "from elevated positions".
What's weird -- inexplicable, really -- is that NONE of these police communications even mention the only shooter who was actually filmed firing a gun: the guy
at street level under the colonnades, the guy who was actually filmed shooting at least one and possibly two officers:
