You should, if it's not too punishing to sit through. I don't think "triggering" quite covers it as far as that goes... Would be great and extremely interesting to get your insight on it, though. I'm definitely of the mind that it exposes rather than engages in misogyny and I'd hate to be proven wrong... as I love the series.
It would be great if Season 2 had two female protagonists as has been hinted at by Pizzollatto.

I thought this quote is particularly relevant:
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." - HP Lovecraft
Lyrics to the song at the end of episode 7:
Well won't you lend your lungs to me Mine are collapsing Plant my feet and bitterly breathe Up the time that's passing And breath I'll take and breath I'll give And pray the day's not poison Stand among the ones that live In lonely indecision
Fingers walk the darkness down Mind is on the midnight Gather up the gold you've found You fool it's only moonlight And if you try to take it home Your hands will turn to butter You better leave this dream alone Try to find another
Salvation sat and crossed herself Called the devil partner Wisdom burned upon a shelf Who'll kill the raging cancer Seal the river at its mouth Take the water prisoner Fill the sky with screams and cries Bathe in fiery answers
Jesus was an only son And love his only concept Strangers cry in foreign tongues And dirty up the doorstep And I for one and you for two Ain't got the time for outside Just keep your injured looks to you We'll tell the world that we tried

I put this on my "to see" list right beneath Breaking Bad.
Sadly, I then misplaced the list.
Which is, when all is said and done, a good thing since I no longer have any desire to be a voyeur into the incredibly expensive recreations of the fake lives of imaginary people.
But please, carry on. If entertainment nipples weren't being suckled on a regular basis then entertainment nipples wouldn't exist. This leads me to believe that they must have a function even if I don't comprehend that function.

Good day.
I don't know which is more misguided, your futile and frankly pathetic attempt at condescending to the posters on this board or your summary and nonsensical dismissal of the narrative arts and the inner lives of all the generations.

You Sir, are a cad and a cretin. Your condescendingly misguided dismissal of the narrative arts and the inner lives of all the generations makes my blood run cold. Therefore you leave me no choice but to challenge you to a meeting on the field of honor. Shall we say, Delete Buttons at 20 paces? Dawn tomorrow? Till then, I bid you adieu....
Sir, you cut me to the quick. Prithee understand that, had I known that the relationship with your appliance had progressed to such a...such a serious level, I never would have besmirched her honor. As penance I vow that I shall make hasty flight to Ye Olde Beste Bye Shoppe, my servants will bring my carriage round before the hour is up, where I shall purchase the finest video appliance that money can buy. With a little luck I hope to snare one of your love's many sisters.
Furthermore, I vow that, come the morrow, I shall contact Ye Olde Cable Companknee and purchase the largest, channel laden package that they offer.
Finally, at some soon to be disclosed later date, I promise that I shall voyage to Ye Olde Surgeon's Shoppe where I shall invest in the finest & most stylish set of feeding tubes, catheters & colostomy bags that they offer. Along with this, I also vow that I shall have my eyelids surgically removed. All of this done in an effort to ensure that I will never ever ever avert my gaze from my television's illustrious & illuminate beauty.
With a little luck & the Grace of Our Holy Father, I hope that I too will one day find love.
Good day.

IanEye, I'll nominate that for "final feel bittersweet song" of the show, though I'm going to try to come up with something else, not sure if that can be topped though
for now...
well, it's a long shot, but could work... at least for the credits...
ok, maybe this:
or...
actually, to totally spoof the Breaking Bad finale...
good lawrd, it's true, seek and you will find. I'm stopping now.
