^ wow, I really halfassed editing that post above. not gonna fix it though.

you know, there is a decent way properly developed extensive psychological testing (the authoritarianism index, a couple other multiphasic inventories and a couple to check for harbored animosity and a eagerness to exercise force) could be used to weed out the bad apples from The Force. People failing the annual testing are declared disabled, and it's pleasantly assumed to be a case of on-the-job ptsd-like situation, resulting in disability/workers-comp and a bar from ever working in a job that exercises physical/bureaucratic authority over others. The same tests screen out new bad apples before and after Police Academy.

After a generation and acceptance, a modified set of testing can be applied to people running for elected office.

Finally those poor souls can get the help they so desperately need.

Netroots Nation stands in solidarity with all people seeking human rights.

With today’s Town Hall, our aim was to give presidential candidates a chance to respond to the issues facing the many diverse communities represented here.

Although we wish the candidates had more time to respond to the issues, what happened today is reflective of an urgent moment that America is facing today.

In 2016, we’re heading to St. Louis. We plan to work with activists there just as we did in Phoenix with local leaders, including the #BlackLivesMatter movement, to amplify issues like racial profiling and police brutality in a major way.

It is necessary and vital to continue this conversation. We look forward to doing so in the coming year.

To a degree. Open up a new OP and then we can discuss because it does seem to be a thing. I have a word or two. My parents keep asking me what is going on in the last few days. You own that OP zangtang since you brought it up. Start the thread!

Black tumblr seemed to believe, for the most part, that #berniesoblack started out at Hillary psyop and that it just took off from a few prominent but bought personalities.

2016 is so  innit?

The most agonizingly hilarious part of watching #BernieSoBlack explode was cracker progs jumping on board thinking they were "playing along."

My personal favorite was "#BernieSoBlack that Hillary Clinton is taking his vote for granted." Also, from a local DJ/activist - "#BernieSoBlack he makes white liberals in Vermont nervous" - although to our credit, Vermont just got its first NAACP chapter two weeks back. (That still matters, right?)

Latest analysis from Mr. Silver -- http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the ... t-hillary/
“The recent rise of Bernie Sanders,” wrote Vox’s Jonathan Allen last week, “points as much to [Hillary] Clinton’s vulnerability as Sanders’s strength.” Allen went on to argue that Joe Biden should run for president.
Clearly Vox is trying to out-stupid both The Atlantic and HuffPo in 2015.
The Bernie Sanders surge, in other words, has a lot more to do with Bernie Sanders than with Hillary Clinton. More specifically, it has to do with his left-populist politics. We’re going to break some news here: It turns out that some Democrats are really liberal, and they like a really liberal candidate like Sanders. Right now, Sanders is winning about half the support of white liberal Democrats, but little support from other groups within the party. That works out to around 25 or 30 percent of the vote in Iowa and New Hampshire but more like 15 percent among Democrats nationally.

It’s possible that Sanders’s standing will continue to improve. If he goes from winning half of the white liberal vote to most of it, he could win Iowa and New Hampshire, though not very many other states.

But he could also encounter some headwinds. Sanders’s name recognition is now 70 to 80 percent in Iowa and New Hampshire, so he doesn’t have that much more room to grow on the basis of improved name recognition alone. And while he’s an appealing choice to some very liberal Democrats, Democrats who describe themselves as “somewhat liberal” may instead prefer Clinton. The policy differences between the Democrats aren’t all that profound; Clinton is pretty liberal herself, and she and Sanders voted together 93 percent of the time in the two years they spent in the Senate together.
Big Apathy still runs bartertown. Silver takes that for granted in his analysis: most people don't vote, period.
What about the Clinton campaign itself? So long as Clinton retains 80 percent favorable ratings among Democrats, she has little reason to deflate the Bernie bubble. Sanders may satiate the media’s desire for a “competitive” Democratic primary without really making her vulnerable.

What will the various warring factions of power elites want in the last half of this decade?

One thing I can't really fathom is what sort of effect the climate crisis, a couple strong hurricane seasons, drought, and heavy winters will have on multinationals and American politics. I predicted that winter 2015 was the last severe one the Northeast / Southeast Canada will have for awhile because its status as one of the coldest-deviating places on the planet can't outlive ocean warming feedback loops forever, but I think I'm going to have to take that back. The trend is continuing through the summer.

Politically I'm most interested in the bucking and braying we're going to have to be subjected to. I just don't think the solutions are politically viable at all.

All told, I no longer vote. In my case not out of apathy, but that I hate the system. I got sick of it after Nader and dubya sealed the deal that nothing I have to say matters. Again Nader filled Key Arena in Seattle to the rafters. Then I went Kucinich. Then in the caucus reluctantly went with Dean as he was the best there was.

After all that I just said fuck this shit. Nothing I can do. But I do miss the solemn going to the polling place -- telling your boss "say, I'm going to go vote". It made it important. Now it's all by mail so who gives a shit? I did all that was humanly possible in a peaceful way to stop the trajectory we all wound up on to this day. I still care, but what I say doesn't matter. Thus I quit voting.

Latest national poll shows Bernie Sanders beating Scott Walker, Donald Trump and Jeb Bush
Zaid Jilani, AlterNet | 27 Jul 2015 at 23:02 ET

Of all the arguments the Democratic establishment has thrown out against Bernie Sanders’ candidacy, perhaps the most recurring one revolves around electability. “Sure, you agree with him,” they argue, “but he can’t win.”

A just released CNN poll finds Sanders out-polling all of the GOP’s major candidates, though pretty much tied with Jeb Bush. Here’s how Sanders stacks up:

SANDERS: 48%
BUSH: 47%

SANDERS: 48%
WALKER: 42%

SANDERS: 59%
TRUMP: 38%

If you limit the poll sample to just registered voters, Bush defeats Sanders by a single point. Either way, this credible poll suggests that Sanders is not just some pie-in-the-sky general election candidate. His more uphill battle may be the primary. But even there, he has some strengths. Polling out last week shows he’s the only candidate from either side who has a net favorability rating.

For the Republicans, too, the race is being turned upside down. Celebrity billionaire Donald Trump is now beating his rivals in national polls; the CNN poll has him at 18 percent to Jeb Bush’s 15 percent. In state polling, Trump is the leader in New Hampshire in the Marist poll, at 21 percent, with Jeb Bush at only 14 percent. In Iowa, Trump is at 17 percent and Scott Walker is at 19 percent.

The race on both sides is slowly in the process of being turned on its head — a sign voters are frustrated with the status quo.

Yea that is what is sad, we could actually have a Bernie presidency it appears, but Hillary is in the way and I am afriad she will not be denied this nomination no matter the cost.

All due respect but this is realy not the best way to go about it. If one were so inclined one could ask themselves, what is the point of anything? But that is not going to get you anywhere but a suicide watch list. Honestly I do not know of any situation in life where throwing ones hands up and quitting is an option. You got to keep fighting somehow.

And yes of course I know about e-voting machines and all of that and yes I agree it does appear our elections are likely manipulated and compromised. I dont have all the answers but I am not ready to give up yet, you can bet those fascist mother fuckers on the far right arent either.
