“Dangerous Donald.” Democrats are going with “Dangerous Donald.” Did they try testing “Sexy Donald” first? “Leather Jacket Donald”? Jared Leto lived in an abandoned insane asylum for a month to get into character as “Dangerous Donald.”
Why not? Since when do people not like winners? Anyway I've seen rumors of Rand Paul, but who knows.

Trump also continued a line of attack he rolled out on Friday evening in Oregon and on Twitter aimed at Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the Massachusetts Democrat and favorite of the left whom some would like to see as Clinton's running mate.
Trump repeatedly called Warren a "goofus" and suggested that she'd lied about her Native American background, an attack reminiscent of his insinuations that President Barack Obama was not born in the U.S. and demands that he produce a birth certificate.
"She's been going around pretending that she's a minority," said Trump, who alleged that Warren had made the claim "because she felt that her mother had high cheek bones."
"Let's see what she does when they say we want real proof that you're a Native American," he said.
Warren had insulted Trump earlier on Twitter, calling him "a bully who has a single play in his playbook."
Wow. Just really, wow. Like really, wow. There is nothing beneath him to go to new lows of why I fucking cannot stand him.
We're basically fucked.

I'm presuming a 'goofus' is a tripping over the tongue when trying to say 'doofus' but thinking 'goofy' ?
-a quick (and vey vey cursory) look tells me the whole Elizabeth Warren (about whom i've heard nothing but good) Cherokee or no - apparently no - thing
has already been done to a crisp 2012/13

It's not like that. He's just so out of the ordinary as far as "politicians" go I can't picture anyone at all.
I mean a logical choice (or illogical depending on your pov) would be Jesse Ventura. You know, another "reality" star turned politician. But their politics are rather different. (Or are they ...?)

That's valid opposition research, not a hoax or smear, and she's got nothing to defend herself. Adding Warren to a Dem ticket would be like handing a large check to the GOP.

I saw a long TV interview with Ventura a couple of months ago. He was saying if it's Trump, he would run on his own, and attacking all of them. I know back in 2000 or so he found Trump interesting as an option, but that was before Trump today and Ventura's not about that at all now. Or so he ways. Neither would be Ron Paul. For Rand, of course there can be no vouching, but I doubt Trump even remembers that Number 11 also-ran's name.

No, just that he brings it up as an issue at all is beneath the lowest of lows. There is some unknown about my "racial" background. I may have Sioux in my blood but nobody knows. I have high cheek bones as well. There is no way that I would go around saying I am a native American, but I identify with the struggles of anyone who is native American because I give a shit about them and the history of their plight but more importantly the beauty of "their ways".
Your sentence is literally true, but not for the reason you are saying. The bit of resume pumping via claims of a Cherokee background (actually unnecessary for her entry to law school) is totally irrelevant. The only people that a campaign harping on that would mobilize are already backing the Mussolini of Professional Wrestling.
Now of course it would be like a large check to the GOP, but that's because she's Elizabeth Fucking Warren, and Wall Street would choose nuclear war before her. Not that I don't believe she'd be a powerful winning pick, in the present election.
And of course it's never going to happen for the same reason. Because Clinton wants that money, never mind that Warren would help her on the ticket. And do you see the Clinton machine ever choosing anyone who isn't 100% one of them? Warren hasn't endorsed anyone yet! Please.
Anyway, she's lost most of whatever faith I may have had in her. Hers was the one endorsement that could have made a huge difference for Sanders, overall and obviously locally. He lost MA by 2% on the worst day of this campaign, if you remember.

I think it's fair to opine that MA was won for Clinton via fraud, and not lack of Liz

I also think that's true. We don't know it, however, we don't even know what the means may have been, since apparently this fraud by unknown means can be seen in various exit polling to results discrepancies but isn't foolproof, since Sanders is still winning some states and not out, and outside the South isn't suffering blowouts. Depending on the means employed, which can vary, in a given case the swing may only be possible within a margin. I have no idea.
But none of that matters to my opinion of Warren's decision not to decide to come out in favor of the politics she represents. You want to make excuses, that she wants to keep her status within the Senate strong, "powder dry" so to speak, not risk having a president who won't talk to her, that's fine. I think she should have showed the courage and taken the risk. A matter of principle.
