guitar and vocals demo, 'basement tapes' style. (one take, dry)
There's no secret to the spiral
gem-eaters have them all
no bearing bent along a hidden ramp
recognizers gaze at us out of a crystal ball
a howling woof and sounds of worp
from a de-rezzed timedoor on the wall
and all this digitizing the seasons
leaving echo-traces of the fall
Greetings programs and goodnight
last one done unplug the light
ain't no princess in a castle no no
just some pretty pixels in a row
Everything is turning to be very tight and nice
Sark controls the magic mushrooms and electron spice
old network wizards laid a future circuitscape surreal
no-witch priestess alchemists have even squared the wheel
solar sailing rails above desert silicon tonight
longing for the days of when
our cages give us second sight
you radiate like a shine sprite
when the moonlight hits you just right
oh come on kitteh be my eight bit baby tonight
the environmental cabinet has issued a decree
posted upon rigorous intuition for all to see
report every fractal memory to the eraser factory
for all programs must love it to be ultimately free
Both his words and manner of speech seemed at first totally unfamiliar to me, and yet somehow they stirred memories - as an actor might be stirred by the forgotten lines of some role he had played far away and long ago.
does anyone here recall an LP by an act called various? it would have appeared sometime around 2006 or when the first burial LP was released. sort of post-electronica with acoustic touches and vocals, sometimes male and sometimes female. one of the tracks may have been called 'blackbird'? the record was packaged in a white sleeve with black line drawings of humans with animal heads or something. anyhow, i've lost track of it and it's a bear finding anything about it with a keyword 'various' durrrrrz.
“The purpose of studying economics is not to acquire a set of ready-made answers to economic questions, but to learn how to avoid being deceived by economists.” ― Joan Robinson
I've been sitting here listening to the static of the silence of my mind along with my cat's snoring (more like a human than any cat purr I ever heard and quite unsettling.) The my weird furnace exploded into action and after a few moments its fan deafened from all else. Now it's just the fan in my laptop and my fridge, all purring in their own particular way.
