A Batman beheading? Have people so quickly forgotten a recent tragedy?

While heightened awareness of decapitations has occurred recently due to incidents in Brazil, Dubai, Greece, and, of course, the bus event in Canada (during the showing of The Legend of Zorro, with features the beheading of Zorro's brother, please note), it should be mentioned that these news items were proceeded by a Batman-related beheading.

I just heard about Morgan Freeman...damn, he's by far one of my favorite actors and one of my favorite characters in the new Batman movies.

I don't see the connections between the beheadings and the latest Batman movie. There were no decapitations in that film that I recall. Too bad about Freeman, but I don't see where the dots connect here.

I guess you didn't click the attached link, huh?

I did read of it what I could- but the writing was of lesser quality than the cut & paste gibberish one finds on internet message boards.

The joker has a card with with a tiny decapitated head on it? Call Bill O'Riley! Get a boycott going! Batman made him do it!

Maybe you're reading it a little too literally? I don't think it's intended as such.

I take it it's more of the newer line of "synchronicity-synchromysticism"
game playing and exploring that I see more and more blogs dedicated to.
(Jake Kotse was I believe, one of the ones who popularized it again)

Much like the "Hollywood and 9/11" page:

Its silly crap. And not even the good kind of silly crap. Its very weak. I'm all for interesting, but far-fetched theories- but this is lazy crap that doesn't hold water.

Again Fresno, you may be taking it all a little too seriously.

It is interesting that four decapitation events (possibly 5) have happened at a near time.

It is interesting that the Zorro movie played during the Canadian bus ride, featured a decapitation.

It is interesting that a person was decapitated by "The Batman" rollercoaster.

It is interesting that the Joker's call sign features a decapitated head.

It is interesting that bad things have happend to three of the most prominent of the cast.

Taken all together, it's just interesting. Not revealing, not amazing, not intellectual - just merely interesting. That's it.

So what if it's crap and absolutely worthless? And yes, it's not very deep and not very rigorous. So what? It's still interesting. Leave it at that. Whether or not there is a connection is for the universe (not us) to deal with - apparently.

What's interesting is watching the birth of new Urban Legends and possible new memes.

Yeah, there's always something to get out of it. How about that one (Brighid's post) Fresno? Interesting?

It's just a game. Like playing "slug bug" in the backseat on a long trip with a sibling.

Hell, as serious as the topics were, even the work of Mark Lombardi(mind mapping of the elite)...while potentially deadly...in a way is a game. Then there's ARG games.

I think there are many, many more interesting aspects of the bus beheading, and trying to link it some movie (albeit, a good movie), really takes away from the true unfathomable nature of that tragic crime.

I don't want to argue about it, I just think this particular attempt at a "Batman meme" is lame. Heath's death, Morgans car wreck, Bale's trumped up assault charges and a freak roller coaster accident have nothing to do with each other that I can see.

I'm not taking it "too seriously", I'm just pointing out that its a weak theory.

That's why you are not a Fortean or an Anomalist.

But if you are a reader of Jeff's blog you are quite familiar with the Fortean Name Game synchronicity factor. If you ascribed any significance to these coincidences beyond noting their existence you'd be a SynchroMystic or other type of Believer. Anomalists and Forteans are Intermediatists, Agnostics, Informationalists. They gather anomalous data, damned data, the things that don't seem to fit, that science and logic reject because they seem too strange.

This isn't about a "weak theory" as there is no theory. There is data and inquisitiveness. There is the sense of Remote Associations. There are apparent patterns that seem to connect without a clear cause and effect.

Are you familiar with the Copycat Effect aka Werther Effect?

Are you familiar with Twilight Language? The Revelation of the Method? King Kill 33?
