If you want to be a terrorist in the US today all you need is matches.

I don't think you would need any kind of directed energy weapon to fan the flames. Years of preventing natural fires from running their course, a hot and dry climate and strong winds combine into a pretty potent mix all by themselves. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Northern California had the most rain in 10 years this winter and spring.

Look at the pictures. Doesn't it look as if these structures were burned form the inside out rather than the outside in?
