communication with entities while ripped out of your gourd

There was a mention/discussion somewhere here about certain drugs precipitating communication with 'entities', whatever they may be. I usually read about this phenomenon occurring with DMT but it seems that it occurs in many more drugs. I found this out by searching erowid.org trip reports with the search term 'entities'. Unfortunately, erowid's search page doesn't seem advanced enough to perform a proper search of 'machine elves' or just 'elves', the term for these that Terrence McKenna coined. Not all of the reports describe contact with entities but a lot do (including a report by a glue sniffer, whoda thunk it?). One interesting report involving N2O has this line: "and as the anaesthesia deepened, I would sense entities around me, that I would describe as 'elemental', mischievous Pan-like beings that surround the gas outlet point as the faeries of old surround ancient brooks and springs" If there were some easier way to collect this information and sort it properly, I wonder if we would see patterns in behavior of the entities. Already it seems that a common reaction is shock at seeing a human enter their realm. I need to add that the erowid search page is in fact advanced enough to do the above mentioned searches by, oddly enough, clicking on the 'Advanced Search' link. Other fruitful search terms are 'beings', 'malevolent' picks up a few, though that is biasing the sample, 'aliens', 'buzzing' seems to have some relevant results in regards to that particular aspect. Dissociatives, such as N2O and ketamine, have given rise to reports of entities. One famous example is John Lilly's experiences -- google him for references. My first encounter with such things was while under anesthesia (nitrous) -- in my case, they were normal-looking humans, a young man and woman, and they communicated with me telepathically. It was a very strange experience. I don't think it's a matter of which drug opens a human up for the possibility of contact, but any experience that deepens or alters perception. Dreaming, fasting, drumming, meditating, chanting, sleep deprivation -- all can allow a person to approach the liminal state.

Thanks for the link Ivan. I couldnt help noticing the quotes in the right hand column. the couple of times i'd had it as an anesthesia were excruciating. the buzzing is wild. had a long stint in the hospital a couple of years ago.... morphine gave me hallucinations of shiny black bugs (very naked lunch). it was a constant place i'd go to and with every dose it'd be back on a weird 'stage' with these black shiney bugs... like we were waiting to perform. or they were waiting for me to do something. i was horrified at much it took to control my pain in the first round of my illness, so maybe the hallucinations were dark b/c i feared the drug. who knows. months later, still in the hospital, i had to go on a morphine pump and had long ago lost my fear of the drug. i hallucinated bunnies constantly. cartoonish bunnies everywhere. everyday. like wallpaper. comforting bunnies.
